"I'm always full of energy!" Emil said, watching her run. He hadn't been expecting that pouce on his tail though, and a little yelp escaped his mouth.

"Oooh, just for that I'm going to get you good!" Emil said, chasing after her backlit figure as it sprinted across the sand. He built up his speed, running faster and faster until he was finally almost on top of her swinging tail.

"Hah!" he cried, "I've just about caught up to you!"

But Emil's triumph was short lived, because barely were the words out of his mouth when his paw caught on a piece of driftwood lying in the sand. His body fell to the ground and tumbled around in the sand. He rolled all the way into the water with a splash. But instead of moping, he sprang back up, half of his fur sopping wet, the other half pretty dry.

"Let's have a run along the shore!" he called to Sanyu with a laugh.

"Yikes!" she shouted as Emil gained on her from behind, almost able to step on her heels. Soon though he went crashing back to the ground and into the water.

"A run?" she questioned, slowing to a slow walk. "Sure, why not? I wanna be in the water too!" The cheery female happily ran up next to her playmate and started the countdown. "Okay. 3... 2..." and before she said 'one' she was sprinting down the beach towards the sunset, her tail dragging in the shallow water.

Emil was left looking dumbstruck, but then Sanyu called back, "You'll never catch up at this rate! Do you want to be left behind by a little hana?"

She laughed and continued sprinting on.

Sovann had zoned out thinking about Tithe as they returned to the group but by the time he regained his composure, the others were all gone, leaving himself and the girl alone.

"Oops!" Sovann shrugged as they came up to the previously occupied area. "I guess no one wanted food. Or we took too long. Sorry for becoming distracted like that."

He blushed sheepishly and stole a glance in Tithe's direction, hoping she wouldn't be too upset with him.

((Forgive me for this short post but I wanted to get something down to help the rp along.))

((Okay, I just made a new post so that people would see that there was a new post and reply. ...yeah. XDDD))

"I said a run, not a one!" Emil shrieked with laughter as he tore off after the pink blur. The ocean smelled salty and fresh, and as long as his paws could touch the gritty sand, he wasn't uncomfortable.

When Emil heard Sanyu's retort, he scrunched up his face in a mock pout.

"That's not fair, you got a head start!" he cried, but there was an edge of laughter in his voice that suggested he was far from serious. Still, it seemed she really had the best of him this time. The water was slowing Emil down a lot and the girl was much speedier in here than he was.

"I guess you win, Hana!" he said, pulling a face and sticking his tongue out. "But I'm not going any further." And with that he plopped down right on the spot with a splash.

((Haha. I do the same thing. Reserve and then write a new post anyways.))

Sanyu heard every bit of sarcasm in Emil's voice as he pretended to mope.

"How come you can be so silly?!"

The wind whipped around Sanyu as she ran and she really was thoroughly enjoying herself. Then she heard Emil say he was stopping, followed by a loud splash. She giggled loudly and tore back down the beach to where he laid, settling down next to him; her paws splashed happily in the cool water.

"Woah," she yawned, "I think I'm finally worn out a bit." Her stomach gurgled loudly, "I'm also starving apparently!"

The flowery female closed her seafoam eyes to rest for a moment, listening happily to the gulls cawing in the sky.

((Wow, sorry this took so long guys! I hope it'll never happen again.))

At the mere mention of food, Emil felt a small rumble start in the bottom of his belly. Water sloshed around his legs as he stirred up from his temporary seat in the ocean.

"Now that you mention it, I'm feeling kinda peckish too. Did Sovann ever get that food for us? I think we've passed dinnertime."

Seeing as the beach had grown significantly darker and the sand was streaked with purple shadows, this was definitely an understatement.
Emil looked at Sanyu, laying so peacefully in the water and hated to disturb her. But hey! She did say she was hungry too. He stood up.

"Let's go find Sovann and the food!" he said with good humor. He wasn't quite as energetic as he had been before, but he was still in a good mood.

Tithe wondered why he was blaming himself.
It was no deal to worry about.

Placing the food and goodies down, she attempted to smell the air to find out which direction they could have possibly went, but before she could even get a wiff of anything, she heard a splash in the distance, followed by faint voices.

"They sure ran off far." Tithe murmured.
Picking the foodstuffs up again, she began walking over to the missing kuniku, stealing a glance at Sovann as she got up.

Sanyu sighed distractedly, letting the cool evening breeze brush her face. It was so refreshing to be on a beach, but if she stayed lying there any longer, she most certainly fall right asleep.

"You're right," she confessed to Emil, "We should head back for food, Apricot. Moon and, er, Bubbles must have found food by now!" She pushed herself up out of the slowly rolling waves, the previously refreshing wind causing her to shiver. "I guess it'd be best to dry off before the sun completly sets, too."

She padded over to Emil and looked down the sandy shore. If she really squinted, the flowery female could just make out the sillhoutes in the distance. They'd run much farther than she'd noticed, the dock now totally out of sight.

"Well," she began, "Let's get moving!" Sanyu turned and gave a cheery, though slightly exhausted smile.

Emil watched Sanyu as she spoke to him and rolled out of the water. As she spoke about drying off, he could almost feel the uppermost wet fur loose a little of its moisture. He followed her gaze as she looked down the shoreline. He hadn't realized how far they had gone.

He stood up and joined Sanyu.
"Whatever you want, Hana."

He couldn't help thinking to himself that this was perfect. Here he was, on the beach with the sand beneath his toes and the water to his back, standing here with Sanyu and walking off into the sunset. Well, it was really more like they were walking away from the sunset, but such nearly perfect situations arose so seldom he didn't see why he couldn't try to remember it the way it should be.

It had taken less time than he had expected. With Sorano leading the way (not that he needed him too), and him running full pelt, Masao had reached his destination quickly. He was surprised to find that his thoughts had drifted back to the others almost constantly, worrying about if they were all right and wondering what they were doing. He had become more attached than he first realized.

As the sun dipped towards the horizon, turning the sky into a beautiful show of orange, yellow and pink, Masao stepped out onto the sand. The others shouldn’t be too far away. Good. He sat down to catch his breath, panting heavily. Even his great endurance couldn’t stand up to the running he’d been doing.

Masao was satisfied though. The grave stood untouched beneath the maple tree, grass already beginning to grow and cover it. For a time he had simply sat before it, paying his respects and saying good-bye for a final time. Sorano had sung his little song and then flew up into the sky.

Now Masao was back on the beach and ready to rejoin the others.

Ooc: Whose grave is it? I’m not too sure yet. xD

((Finally, I took the time to read all the posts so I could join. I hope no one minds.))

Shimoyake pulled a sprig of berries from a nearby bush and walked briskly back to the simple wooden shrine that was nearby. he simply adored this particular human custom and enjoyed paying homage as they did. He sat in silence for a moment before continuing on his way. The sun was setting, filling the sky with different shades of pink, red, orange and purple and he let out a content sigh.

The sea breeze was calming as he emerged from the trees; the sight of the ocean filling him with joy. He loved the water. Maybe because of his power or maybe because he had spent much of his life near the water he just could control the smile that graced his lips. There was a boat at the dock to, adding to his delight. He had spent much time exploring the shore and therefore, befriending the fishermen who docked here.

He bounded towards the tide, leaping in as he reached it, creating quite a splash in the process. It was only when he had resurfaced that he caught sight of the other kuniku on the beach. Shaking the water from his fur, he started his way over to them.

((Eh I'm sorry. I should probably post, but now that everyone has started up again, I've suddenly lost my Kuniku writing will. WHY DO I DO THIS?!!? I've no clue. ._. ))

Sovann silently agreed with Tithe and began carrying the remaining food along behind her.

For some reason, he could feel a familiar presence nearby.

He tried to strike up a new conversation and moved closer to the female's side, but as he tried to speak the fruit he was holding tumbled on to the ground.

Obviously, Sovann was taken down with it.

((Oy, shortness))
