Esmerelda shook her head lightly to knock herself out of a sort of daze and looked over to Anhur. "I don't believe anyone would blame you... Personally, I think that you should." His generosity didn't cease to amaze her, as many lions would have snatched this place up in a heartbeat, leaving no room to think about others in need. The lioness' ringed tail flicked behind her as she looked slowly between the other and out over the cliff.
(( *coughs at her tiny, horrible post* x.x; ))

What if he wasn't cut out to hold land of his own, even make his own tribe? Just the thought made him nervous. Maybe he wasn't cut out for leadership...maybe there was another tribe that he could join, Esmerelda and all his friends too. Anhur sighed, it was a difficult choice. Though he did think he'd be better off having someone else in command, it seemed less stressful.
( Ew, mines just as bad, and he didn't even say anything. Dx )

For some reason, the tranquility of this place was beginning to get to Esmerelda. The sound of the waterfall and the occasional bird would normally have calmed her. But today it was not enough, and so she decided to break the silence. His sigh gave reason for this, and she was quite relieved that she wouldn't have to start a conversation from scratch. The thought that she might be prying didn't even cross her mind.
"Is something else on your mind, Anhur?" she asked with a hint of a smile. She raked her paw absent-mindedly over a bit of taller grass in front of her as she waited patiently for his response.

His head slowly rose to look at Esmerelda as she pawed at the grass. "Well...I was just thinking whether or not...I'd actually be a good leader. I mean, I've never actually lead anyone. I've taken care of Kaimana, my youngest adopted brother, but that's really all that might even remotely have anything to do with leadership." Wow, it didn't take very long for him to start doubting himself, did it?

Esmerelda placed her paw back on the solid ground and looked back over to Anhur. "My mother told me something when I was setting off on my own... It may seem daunting at first to take on the challenges that you face out in the world. But as time wears on, you learn that things aren't as hard as you think... As long as you try." She looked to her paws once more, wondering if quoting her own mother was going to help this pink lion at all. "My guess is that you will manage to get used to it, even if it takes you a while... And then, you'll make a fine leader, Anhur." She smiled back up to him, trying to look as reassuring as she could.
