A voodoo practitioner made Robert the doll what it is. I think the museum ought to hire a voodoo practitioner to send the evil spirit back to where it came from and then burn the actual doll the spirit resided in. Exorcise and purify.

I always thought Robert was creepy. I always wanted to visit him....but then again....I'm not so sure.

Oh yeahhh, I heard about him a long time ago it seems so fascinating for a doll to manifest as an iuntelligent being, maybe a spirit posessed it or a demon did

That's gotta be one of the creepiest doll stories I've ever read...Seriously, someone should have a person adept in the occult look at that doll. Maybe even get an exorcist...
I don't suppose burning the doll would help might just make his spirit angry or worse might be angry and free to follow you eek

Why is it that people always think Robert is evil?! It says on his website (http://www.robertthedoll.org/) that he's not another 'chucky' and he's not harmful. Mischievous, yes. But not evil! He's like a little child! He's lonely and just wants to be liked and have fun. I think we should all just give him the respect and happiness he deserves rather than saying he's a demon or suggesting to burn him. I myself, will always like little Robert. I think he's cute.

I agree with you in a way Shinigami. The idea of a 'living' doll scarys the cr*p out of me, but at the same time there doesn't seem to be much proof that Robert is evil. If he is possessed by a spirit it could be a trapped spirit, one that doesn't want to be 'in' the doll but is stuck. This would explain why he acts out.

Then again if the force that makes Robert 'live' is a man made force it would behaviour in the way it was 'programmed' to act. For example, a doll make for a child would be made to act like a child, and given that child use 'he did it' a lot when trying to get out of trouble it would add to Robert's mischieve (sp?).

However whether Robert is evil or not, I think that all paranormal/supernatural things like him should be shown respect. And burning things doesn't alway work, sometimes it just releases things.

The spirit inside Robert the Doll may or may not be evil, but it is unhappy. The same type of ritual/magic that trapped him can send him back home, too. I wasn't suggesting destroying the spirit, merely sending him back to his place of origin. Burning the doll itself post-ritual would be a good idea because of the spiritual residue left behind; a stronger, more malevolent spirit could latch onto the leftover energy signature and occupy the doll at will. Better safe than sorry. But I have a degree of compassion for the trapped spirit and I really do wish someone would ritually free him--he's been imprisoned long enough and I doubt he'd argue against it. What's disrespectful about giving someone a free ride back to their home?

Now that seems to make a logical amount of sense to me, dosent have to be evil, could just be a mean or rude person
