Vaek noticed Lord join up with them. "Good you made it. We're heading for Vault. Apparently, Geode here thinks the people are in danger since we just killed these bandits." Geode became very restless.

"This was too convenient. Him coming right after the battle ended?"

"Lord is our friend, and I trust him."

"Ok, but you better be careful."


Farther down the road, the group finally spots Vault. "This is it guys. The town of Vault." Vaek led the group into the small village. "Ok. We're stopping here for the night. WHile we're here, feel free to buy ane equipment and other itmes. I'll let you know if smoething's going to happen."

((Now in the game, you couldn't buy artifacts in Vault, but after the boss you received a Bandit's Sword. We'll figure out who gets it later.))

Vaek left on his own as well. He and Geode were on their way to the mayor's household for some information. When he knocked on the door, he soon realized it was unlocked. He peeked in. "Anybody home?" There was no response, so Vaek stepped in and looked around. The place was in shambles. Furniture was in shreds. Wood was broken. Paintings were ruined.

"My god. Who could have done such a terrible thing?"

"It must have been the bandits when they came for the Shaman's Rod."

"But where is the mayor?"

Just then, Vaek found a body bag on the floor. "Oh no. Please tell me its not the mayor." Geode hopped off his shoulder and flew towards the bag. He peeked inside.

"It's worse."

Vaek walked over, kneeled down, and opened the bag. Inside was the dead body of a 17 year old boy. He was holding a vial, which looked very ancient and supposively carried a certain liquid.

"It's Ivan, the Jupiter Adept friend of Isaac."

((i know, but i'm going to explain that now.))

Vaek was in shock of what he was looking at. "It can't be. Ivan can't be dead. He killed Saturos and Menardi all those years ago. It's impossible!"

"There's something else to this."

"What do you mean?"

"He killed them 50 years ago. Why does he look so young?"

Vaek looked at his body and realized Geode was right. He then noticed something in Ivan's hand. He opened his hand, and pulled a scroll out. He opened it and gasped. "These are Ivan's last words."

To Whoever Finds Me,

My name is Ivan, and I am a Jupiter Adept. I aided Isaac in the quest to prevent the lighting of the lighthouses, however we ended up promoting the one thing we tried to stop. After Mars Lighthouse, we returned to Vale, but not before dropping Piers back in Lemuria. As a reward for bringing him back, his father presented us with a large supply of precious draught. This liquid ensured that we would remain alive as long as we drank it. Well, in order to keep ourselves at full strength in case something bad was going to happen, we all split the draught equally amongst ourselves. Mia returned to Imil, Sheba to Lavilaro, and Isaac and Garet to Vale. I am leaving Vault to visit Mia in Imil, but if another Adept finds this, you must unlight the four lighthouses. If they remain lit, then...

The rest was illegible.

"Well now we know what happened to them."

"Ivan said they split the draught equally amongst eachother. Maybe the others are still alive."

"True, but what if the Wise One has already killed them."

"But that doesn't make sense. He can't interfere with man's actions."

"Then someone must be working for him, but whom."

"Well, lets figure that out later."

Suddenly, Vaek heard a loud scream from outside. He grabbed his sword and ran outside. A woman was being stabbed by a bandit. "Oh no. They're here." Just then, more bandits appeared from whithin Vault. "We have to stop them." He jumped onto the lawn in front of the house.

"Guys! We've got company! The bandits are back! We must help the villagers!"

"Geode! Go!" Geode turned into the giant boulder again and killed a group of bandits. Returning to Vaek's side, more bandits approached him. "You want some more? Here it comes!" Vaek raised his arms into the air and yelled, "VENUS!"

Geode jumped into the air and began to glow. Energy began emmit form the ground, damaginf a bunch of bandits. Geode returned to Vaek, but was exausted.

"You need to recover."

"That was fun."

One bandit attacked Vaek, but he blocked the strike and kicked him back. He then yelled "Spire!" Suddenly, a large stalagmite formed from above him, and then dropped on him, killing him.

Meanwhile, in one of the Inns, a young man was trying to rest... "Ah... can't they keep it down out there...?" the man said, and looked out the window grogily, "Eh... Bandits... right... sleep..." He then shot up, and yelled, "BANDITS!?!" He changed into his traveling garb, and ran outside, aparently hitting a bandit smack in the face as he shoved the door open.

"Uh... whoops... S-sorry..." He apoloized

"Geh! No! Youse hit me, so I'll keel youse!" The bandit exclaimed, reading his battle axe.

"Fine then..." the young man said, and went into a battle stance, His feet spred out, the left one infront, the right one behind him, and he held his sword in two hands, turning his body to the right, and his sword rised at that side, "You'll regret this..."

Just then, the bandit leader approached Vaek. "So, you're the brat that killed my men?"

"They deserved it. Stealing from a village doesn't get you anywhere, especially one as pure as this."

"Well then, I guess I have to kill you next."

"You mean, you killed Ivan?"

"Enough talk. Die brat!"

The bandit lunged towards Vaek and caught him off guard. He kicked him in the stomach, sending Vaek flying through the wall of a building. Geode jumped out of danger, but Vaek wasn't so lucky. He struggled to get up. "You will die for what you did to Ivan!"

The bandit began to approach Vaek. "I will enjoy taking your life." Vaek slowly got up to his feet. "You won't get the chance!" Vaek lunged towards him, slashing with his sword. The bandit dodged and kicked his sword out of his hands. He then kicked him in the head, knocking Vaek to the ground. Vaek began to cough a little blood. "Guys! I need help!"

Vaek slowly stood up and raised his arm to launch an attack, but unfortunately he had landed awkwardly, breaking it. He yelled in pain as he dropped his arm. "Damn! That fall took a lot out of me." The bandit leader slowly got up. "Quint, it's up to you. Kick his a**!"
