Kai felt the nudge of the cold nose on her fur. It was very alerting, compared to the warmness all around her. Her eyes opened up a bit more, and she looked around. Everything was still fuzzy though, and it only made her want to stay put, rather than even try to get up.

"Tibuka... Is.. Is that.. Y-You..?"

Her white-socked paws scratched at the ground some, trying to move her body so she could look around. She had very little luck though. Her back oozed some more blood out, and it made her cringe with pain, a slight howl following. She whimpered and panted, her silver eyes watering up, becoming very scared and unsure about what to do.

"Tibuka.. Help... H-Help me.. P-Please..."

"Yer fine. " He sighed, naive girl. "Its just your first fight-- and 'e sat on you. C'mon, get up so I kind get ya to a den er summin. We gotta get clean, and we're close to th' lion border. We can't stay 'ere? " He forced himself to smile, as if to encourage Kailasa, and got up, eyeing the wound on her back.

It did look like it hurt..

He himself was bleeding slightly from his left side, and more seriously from his right flank, but both ways, he wasn't very injured. But the lion had sunk in well into the poor female. He lowered his head, pressing his muzzle against her shoulder and offering support, in case she needed help to get up.

Kai knew that Tibuka was right. She was in a lot of pain, but if she didn't get away from the border, she could easily be attacked again, and most likely killed. Taking a few big breaths, she willed her legs and paws to bring her body up, as much as it pained her to do so. She leaned onto the brown male, very much thanking him inside her head for his help.

Once she got to her paws, she limped about some, stricken by pain once more, but was able to stand. Her vision began to slowly clear up, and the water that had built up in her eyes rolled down her furry cheeks.

"Thank you.. Tibuka."

She slightly smiled at the male, her silver eyes looking at his teal ones. She never thought she'd be so happy to see them, considering she had just met the male.

"Let's go.. N-Now.. Before another.. Lion comes."

He smiled weakly, then started to walk, bearing the pain rather easly, next to Kailasa. "that went kinda well, y'know. " He smiled meekly. "He was a strong lion, but he stopped the fight fast. " The heyna grinned. "You'd hate the long ones! " He nodded, and continued to walk beside the female.

"So, how does it feel? First fight? "

She stumbled here and there, but walked beside Tibuka, kind of happy that she had gotten up, instead of continuing to lie down like she had been.

"It feels.. Horrible.. To say in the least. Very.. Painful.. But I guess that's what a fight f-feels like, huh?"

She continued to smile, trying to put on a happy face. She was bearing the pain as well, but it wasn't as easy for her, or so she thought. After all, walking with holes and rows in your back had to be painful, especially when they were still bleeding.

"It w-went well..? That lion almost k-killed me..!"

"It did! " Tibuka chuckled. "Considering what could have happened. He just bit ya once, imagine it being ten times, and he didn't really use his claws much. " The hyena smiled meekly, continuing to walk beside Kai. "You're shaken cause this was yer first, though. Tha's normal. " He nodded, and continued.

Soon they'd be back near the center of the graveyard-- well, their side, anyway. His den shouldn't be far, they could clean up and rest some there, then head for water, which was kind of far.

"Coulda been a lion nd a cheetah, both at the same time, too. "

"Oh.. I see. Why did he attack us though..? What did we do to him..? I don't understand."

The shakiness in her voice was disappearing now. She was beginning to deal with her pain and just keep going. She was trying to be strong, just like Tibuka was, just like the pack itself was. She was trying to be a hyena.

She noticed how they began to get back into the land she knew. She smiled some more, happy to be back. She definitely needed to learn how to attack, as well as when and where to. She didn't want a fight like that happening again.

"Its a lion thing. He knew we knew he were there. An' everyone knows how the pack hates lions. Well, most of it. And sometimes.. " He sighed, looking blankly ahead for a moment. "They do it for fun. Did ya see the way he was smilin'? " He shrugged his shoulders, and realised with dismay that it hurt.

"Well, yea. He attacked us because he knew we'd fight back. Its our job ta drive lions away. Instead of running, he took it as a chance ta have some fun. " Tibuka smiled weakly. "Anyway, 's geetting dark. Lts clean up, then go get some water. " He said, seeing the skull he made his den of appear.

The hyena smiled, and picked up pace slightly, reaching the den easly, then waiting for Kai.

Kai padded along slowly still, her mind wondering about the lion. To her, everything that she knew about lions had always been good, but now.. Oh.. Now things were different. That damn lion had attacked.. And for what reason? None. No reason at all. Just for the heck of it.

Growling in anger some, she noticed that she had gotten left behind and scampered forward, catching up to the brown and white male. Finally realizing where she had gotten to, she looked around, noting this in her head as his den.

"It's nice in here, Tibuka. Very cozy." She smiled at him, and then slightly fell forward, wincing some. "I think our wounds need to be taken care of... Quickly.."

Tibuka moved calmly into his den, there was a tunnel he'd managed to dig to actually sleep in, but really, he hanged more around the skull part. He nodded at Kailasa, and laid down near the eye cavities of the dead elephant, moving to lick the wounds on his flank.

"Yeaa.. Will you be able ta reach that? " He asked curiously, tilting his head for a moment. Right behind the mane-- that didn't seem like a good spot.

Kai watched and eventually followed him, doing what he did. She laid down a few inches away from him, trying to get a good look at her wound. He was right. The lion had put it in a very hard-to-reach spot, and on purpose too, or so she thought.

"I don't know... It's.. Out of sight." She frowned some, unsure of what to do.

While Kai attempted, Tibuka had licked his wounds, easy, as he had grown used to it, then blinked, and tilted his head thoughtfully. He sighed, looking at Kailasa for a moment and flicking his tail. "I can reach it, " The male said shrugging. He could; he could reach her wound. Just walk over and do it, but maybe she'd feel uncomfortable.

Himself, Tibuka had no problem. Sure, it may be slightly awkward for a while, but he looked after his own, even though.. Well, some of his own he regarded rather bitterly. He'd do the same for Shira if she needed it. Just with someone like Kailasa, it'd be much easier.

"If ya want. "

Kai didn't expect that, especially from a stranger that she had only just met. Still though, it needed to be done. Otherwise, infection would rampage through her wound, only making it worse than it already was.

"Umm.. Alright. I can take care of yours too... Uhhh.. If you want me to.."

She was getting nervous about it, feeling kind of awkward, but knew it was the right thing to do. Isn't this what pack mates did for each other?

"nah, already handled mine. " Truly enough, his wounds had been cleaned, and though the worse one still bled, it was clean. Soon it'd stop too, and all he'd have to clean was his fur.

He got up, and padded to sit next to Kailasa. "Ha! You got it worse than I did. " He teased for a moment, if only to kill the awkward.. ness. "er.. it might sting a lil' at first, just so ye know. " He shrugged, then leaned over, and sniffed the wound slightly. Okay, talk about weird. With a light sigh, Tibuka began to lick it, shoulder pressing slightly against Kai's side in the process.

The gray female nodded her head and braced for some slight pain. At first, she felt nothing except coolness, and then a sharp sting struck, making her whimper slightly. However, as Tibuka licked it, it began to feel better, the pain easing away.

"Much better... Thank you, Tibuka."

She smiled and leaned back against the male, letting him gently lick her wound. How she could trust him so much, she didn't know.. But she did, and she was very grateful for it.
