"I demand an apology!" The declaration was heard through the streets and turned people's heads.

"And I say you can shove those demands up your a** and enjoy them." Another voice, older, making people curious and coming close.

"How dare you? Do you know who i am?" Came the first voice, louder and more outraged.

"Should I give a damn?" Came the elder and by now a small crowd of night lifers was cramming iteslf in the wide city street, watching as a lone, elderly figure stood his ground against six men, all dressed in fine clothing and carrying swords that cost more than most houses.

"If you were wise you would!" Taunted one of the six youth, his voice full of pride. "I'm Ton Velia. Son of the..."

"I don't give a crap if your the king of demons." Interupted the old man. "I stand by what i said before and if you have a problem with that, you have weapons, I suggest you use them. but, if you don't have the balls, which judging by your lack of facial hair that you do, I'd say its time to be one my way."

"How dare you!" Screamed the boys together and they drew their swords. Instantly, the crowd moved back, far back as the six began to decened upon the lone old man. "You're a dead man!" One shouted and rushed the older man.

Gen smiled as the youth came on and in a flash, the old man pulled his sword from his belt and smashed it firmly against the nose of the attacker. The attacker dropped his weapon and began screaming, blooding ozzing as the young man fell over.

"O grow up!" Chuckled the old man, putting the sword on his shoulder, revealing that the scarbbard was still upon the cold steel. "I doubt I even broke your nose." Gen looked up at the others, who stood in awe, the old man's speed amazing to behold.

"who...who are you?" Stammered one of the young men, looking at his freind on the ground who was crawling away from the old man.

"Who, me?" Mused Gen for a minute. "I'm just a man. A man who loves sword play. But as for my name, its Gen Ashlito. And now that formalities are over and done with, let's dance!" And with that the elder man began running down the street at the boys."

---

When the city watch arrived, the crowd was already going their seperate ways and most refused to say anything. What the guards could find out was that and old man had accidentaly brushed shoulders with a young noble. The noble and his friends had demanded an apolody and the old man had refused. A fight had started and the old man had taken everyone of the young men down with his sword, which had the scabbard on it the entire time. The old man had long since gone, but the young nobles still were there, clutching sore arms and bleeding noses.

Gen chuckled to himself as he walked through the back alleys of the city until he came to a large inn. The night was cold and dark and Gen pulled the cloak tighter over his cold bones as he walked. He was lost in his own thought when a loud crack caused his head to jerk up and the bald head spun wildly, looking around as he hand clutched his sword. Gen saw several curious heads poking out of windows and the old man peered around, a curious look on his face.

"What in the nine hells was that?"

Gen made his way slowly through the dark lanes until at last, he poked his head around one corner and his eyes beheld a fight. but not a brawl. this was different and the old, wrinkled face raised an eyebrow.

"And what have we here?" Mused Gen, watching all this take place

Alfo refrained from laughing. Nothing to lose? Ha! The words of this human were ridiculous. And she offered him to retreat without pursuit? Did she not realise that she wasn't in the position to give such an offer? Well, she had the chance to go. And now she would die. She would die and lose her life. Yes, lose it. "If you had nothing to lose, mortal, you would have already accepted death. Instead you are placing yourself in a self-denial state to which you use as an excuse to fight, simply because you like it. It is creatures like you, humans, which this world does not need. And we will be the ones to rid you of it."

Alfo bent down, ready to lunge forward. "At least I'll make your death relatively painless." A sudden wind began to form around the two on the battlefield. The sound of wind whistling became evident as more visible spots began to appear. And then they became more visible, taking the shape of daggers. They was at least thirty, all spinning rapidly to create the whistle noise. And all at once the stopped, the tips of all pointed at Lind.

"There is no escape from my Senszabara." The daggers shot forward with incredible speed, to the point of barely seeing a blur. Senszabara. The daggers glimmered towards Lind. And then they hit.

The sound was not of flesh being torn apart, however. It was the sound of ice being smashed. And that's what it was. Surrounding itself around Lind was ice. It didn't touch her, but protected her.

Alfo's eyes widened in shock. "What the... How...?" The ice shattered to reveal Lind unharmed. But instead of the pieces of ice falling to the ground they stayed elevated in the air. The cubes, in a split second, formed shards and then shot at Alfo. Alfo could barely lift his sword in time before five or so shards had already sliced his skin. And that was only a percent of the attack. The coffin of ice had created thousands of those shards.

Alfo moved his wings in front to block. The shards pierced the wings by about a millimetre. Enough to stay in. The shards in his wings and body then vaporized without turning into water.

Alfo moved his wings and fell to one knee. Blood was dripping in several places across his body. His arms were scratched to hell and also bleeding. "What the hell?!"

From the sky fell another Dragon. This one landed close beside Lind, and had a piece of ice within his hands. "I forgot how tough a Dragon's wing could be. Honestly, I'm surprised you're not dead." The unknown Dragon smiled and stood up straight. "By the way, my name's Calo."

"I may have nothing to live for, but I don't choose d-!"

"I'll stop it with my own wind." Lind thought briefly as the daggers shot at her with incredible speed. A wave of air came to oppose them as Lind tried her own attack, but it was too weak. The daggers, or Senszabara as Alfo called them, cut through Lind and Wasp's own air attack effortlessly.

"N-No...!"

Both Lind and Wasp immediately held up their hands to defend themselves, an instinctive reaction. The next sound she heard reminded her greatly of shattering glass. Lind opened her eyes and saw... ice? Where had that come form? She didn't understand.

Before an ounce of comprehension could come to her, the ice shattered and attacked, seemingly of its own accord. Lind was sure she had a minor control of water, but... this was far beyond anything she was capable of at this point.

Lind quickly took a step back from Calo. The last thing she expected was another of these creatures to show up. At least it was formal being.

Karasi had waited for a reply to her knock, though what she heard was not what she expected. Instead of the queen or king telling her to enter, the knight heard the sounds of fighting. Concerned, the woman stared at the door for a moment longer before pushing it open. She figured it was better to be wrong about a disturbance than to find one of the monarchs dead or dying. Making her way through their majesties chambers, the short woman kept her hand on her practice sword, the only weapon she had on her.

When Karasi reached the balcony, she was just in time to see Queen Takara get carried out the window by Eveel. That was not what she had her eyes on however. Her focus was instead on the being that stood in the room. The soldier had never seen anything like him before. Yes, she knew of winged races in the kingdom, but nothing like him. His wings reminded her of Eveels, and though she could only see the side of his face, it made a shiver run down her spine from the look on it. Shaking her head, the woman brought her self out of her thoughts and looked over to the window. Her eyes opened wide as the impact of what had just happened to the queen and Eveel hit her. Momentarily forgetting the being in the room, she ran over to the balcony and stared down, seeing the dragon thrashing around. "Your Majesty!" She screamed in fear for her monarch.
