"You're a very VERY bad counselor!" Harper said, giving the man a dumbfounded look, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU! .. I'M GETTING AWAY FROM THE BEES YOU IDIOTS!"

At that he promptly ran off about 20 feet away before turning back around again to see what everyone else would do. Once properly 'hidden' or at least 'masked' by some trees he took to nursing his somewhat bloody and splintered hands, fussing more than he'd like anyone to know.

Harper was gone, bees were on all sides of her, and the idiot councellar was still waving his arm around.

Since Irelia knew she hadn't bit hard enough to remove a finger, and it did not look like a fresh wound, the shock of him springing something like that on her faded.

And now Irelia was half furious at him, and half beside herself with fear. She HATED bees, they scared her half to death, and her insatiable urge to cause pain and destruction on everything was what caused it to happen in the first place.

"I hate bees!" Irelia wailed piteously and ran towards where Harper had taken off, and was instantly surrounded by the bees.

Shrieking, crying and flailing her arms, she proceeded to get stung in multiple places, and Irelia was now just determined to get all the bees to go away.

Finally, she made her way through the swarm, and landed beside Harper. Dozens of stingers were lodged in her arms and legs.

Irelia burst in to tears.

Watching in his hideout, Harper stared wide-eyed as Irelia landed beside him. His first reaction was to jump slightly, look to Clavis and duck half expecting to the bees to follow - but in the end, it seemed only her wailing was prevailing.

"It's.. I'm.. er.." He stuffed his bottom lip up and put on a brave face, "I told you to run!" He reminded, eyebrows furrowed in something stubborn. "Stupid useless good for nothing counceller.."

He took a deep breath and stuffed up his pride a bit for the sake of the girl crying. She was wailing and in pain and it was partially on his shoulders, and while he wasn't one to make regrets this particular outcome wasn't pleasant for him at all and he felt worse than he expected, "Stop crying!" he begged, though he tried to make it sound like a command. Moving to take one of her arms, he looked it over again, "I'll pull them out, okay?"

Irelia sniffed. For a moment there, she thought that the boy was actually being nice. When he took her arm, she winced in pain, but didn't draw it away.

"Be careful. It hurts," Irelia said quietly, her face a mess.

Irelia slowly looked down at her arm.

"I think there are 10 stingers in that arm. I don't have as many on the other one," Irelia waited, her eyes closed shut, for the pain to come.

Clavis was dumbfounded. The kids had bolted before he could tell them that he could protect them from the bees. Clavis had spent too much time milking his "joke" to actually notice that one of the kids had gotten hurt.

"Geez. i am going to be so screwed when I get back."

Harper made a face, "Well duh! I'll be careful!" He insisted, not once doubting his ability to be gentle. Of course, he probably should of.

As carefully as he could but surprisingly steady for a kid such as himself, he went to pluck the stingers out one by one. "They aren't that big.." He mused, examining one as he pulled it out. "I heard someone say bees die when they sting.. at least you don't have to go hunting around the forest later to exact your revenge!!"

Which was actually a bit disappointing!

"Okay. Next arm goat-girl." He smiled.

Irelia examined her arm in surprise. All of the stingers were gone, and although her arm itched fiercely, she didn't seem to be allergic to them. Although attacking a hive and getting stung multiple times wasn't the best way to find this out.

Irelia extended her other arm.

"Thanks Harper. But... why don't you call me by my name? All you ever do is say, "hey you!" or call me a stupid girl," Irelia winced as a particularily large stinger was removed, "We could cause a lot of terror together."

Irelia snickered.

"Or, i can continue hitting you for random reasons."

Harper glanced at her and frowned, just as he pulled the last stinger out of her other arm. "Might not want to remind me right now." He said, glaring slightly. The glare mixed into a smirk quickly, however, as he gave her her arm back and dusted his hands. "Any more?" He asked, trying to sound mature.

It was then he gave her suggestion some thought; staring at her, his expression going from glares, to smirks, to indifference and back again, he eventually seemed to settle. "Well alright, but it's no fun if I'm everyones friend.." He considered his video games. "When you get new allies, you get new enemies too. You have any enemies, goat g - Irelia?" He asked, smiling again.

Irelia had to think on that for a moment. Enemies? She had never thought of that idea before, though she loved stories of good and evil (she had a soft spot for terrifying stories like "bluebeard's wives" because the bad guy almost gets away with it) Irelia didn't have video games, which was odd since Asher would probably love to get her something that would allow her hours of enjoyment. Mostly, QUIET enjoyment. But Asher had never heard of Video Games, but now that the idea had been placed in Irelia's mind, she probably would get some the next day.

"Well, i don't think so. Except for that man over there," Irelia pointed to Clavis, "He's an idiot."

Irelia stopped for a second.

"Oh, and that stumpy girl. Uh... whathername. Jace. The screamer,"

Irelia inspected herself. Though the stings had created deep red sores on her arms, they had stopped itching for the most part and all the stingers seemed to be gone.

"Well, you really did a fine job. Thanks Harper."

Harper frowned, "I would of thought you'd have plenty of enemies.." He said, sounding truly disappointed. He looked back at Clavis and gave a snort. That one was obvious. "Obviously him, but I meant.. like other kids? If you make some, tell me! We can team up and destroy them!" Figuratively speaking of course!

"Yeah. I know. They don't call me master surgeon Sinclair for nothin." Harper said, grinning at her arms. He was living in and out of imagination land, obviously.

"I know Jace. She kissed me." He complained a moment later, using a voice of sheer terror as he rubbed his cheek again. "Luckily, I washed it off quick enough before the rash started..."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 9:51 pm

Irelia snorted.

"I guess for a BOY a kiss is something to be dreaded. Now, if i REALLY wanted to inflict embarrassing pain..." Irelia trailed off, muttering incoherently about "onions in a**". She waved her hands, and went back to plotting with Harper.

"Enemies are no fun. There are not that many people that can be true enemies, its more fun plotting against normal people. And then DESTROY them all!" Irelia punched her hand in the air, pretending for a moment that she was, indirectly, the spawn of satan after all.

Clavis was making his way over to the children. They better act fast...

Harper gave her a disturbed look. His guardians did their 'best' to keep 'bad' things out of his life but he'd heard enough slip ups to get the jist when all parental guides said he shouldn't.

He shook his head.

"Or atleast make them very mad.." He trailed off, glaring at Clavis. "He's coming. You gonna kick him again or are we gonna run?" Harper asked, standing up. "I'd rather not run into another hive of bees myself, you'll just start crying and stuff again.." He said, an exasperated, dramatic sigh following.

With the urge to kick Harper came up, Irelia firmly pushed it down. Now that she had made a sortofmayberealfriend, that wasn't Taki, she wasn't about to screw it up by letting her limbs fly.

"Agh. Well, we can't run away from him forever. I guess we better go with himmmm," Irelia whined the last bit. Not that their wild ride wasn't fun but she had felt the pain of it most acutely.

Clavis pushed aside a branch and wandered in to the clearing where Irelia and Harper sat.

"Hey, uh, kidlets. There's an obstacle course about to begin, if you want to. Not that I am making you or anything." Clavis waved his hands in the air.

He was a terrible adult.

"Fine." Harper announced, crossing his arms and giving Clavis a stubborn glare. "We will get him later, then." He mumbled to Irelia, before making a shoo motion at Clavis.

"Hurry up then! If you can even find your way back, smokey the big stupid bear!"

.. that wasn't even remotely intelligent by Harper's standards, but it made him feel better. Smirking like he had won some imaginary battle he waved for Irelia to follow and began marching back to the camp the way he remembered it, trying to show Clavis up by being able to find his way back on his own.

Yellow. Red. Blue. Green.

Padded tubes of every colour and size ran down a field, going across a small pond and ending right before the start of the forest. At the very end, a blazing orange sign read "finish". Children were lined up in teams of two, each fidgeting impatiently. The obstacle course was the nightmare of any kid over 12 but for these hyperactive children, it was like ice cream sundaes to a fat kid.

Absolutely and totally unable to resist the temptation.

Some adult was yelling at the instructions, but Irelia wasn't paying any attention to it at all. Turning to Haper, she lowered her head.

"We have to win."

The adult was yelling that it wasn't a race but a test of teamwork, but Irelia wasn't listening.

"We'll take them down."
