Renaldo Moon...whom very much prefered to be called Mootah, for a variety of reasons he would much rather not get into. Steppped into the councel room with wide, luminous eyes. His tail tip twitched back and forth in anticipation. Jedi....real jedi and sith... and here he was... -looking- at them. -amazing-... actually... it made him a little hungry....then again. Everything made him a little hungry.

The Jedi Master quickly scanned the newest guest with her dark eyes. She smiled, partly in salutation but also because he reminded her of the individuality of each student that had entered that day.
"Welcome." Sva'La, The togruta female greeted the new arrival. "I am Sva'La, the Jedi Master."
"And I am Char Langui, the Sith Master" Her human counterpart said as he introduced himself with a thump of his wooden cane. " On your transcript we understand that you would like to follow the Jedi path. Do you have any questions before you make your final decision?"

He shuffled a little from foot to foot... twisting his tail into an almost painful looking 'curl' as he thought.
"If... A student isn't sure...later in their training that they made the right choice... what happens to them? I mean, I think I've chosen alright, for how I see things right now. But..." He let the question hang in the air as he reached up to scritch behind his one brown ear.

Tu had been thinking on his decision for quite a long while, he had seen some of his peers come and go choosing their own paths. He saw new faces pop in and he noticed them although they would not be able to tell with the glazed over look he had in his eyes. His father said not to take the decision lightly, he mulled over the choice for a long while before finally speaking up. "Uhm, excuse me, I think I know what I wanna be now. I wanna be a Jedi." Tu said finally feeling that the path his father had taken would also be the best for himself, he felt pretty confident in this decision.

"A Jedi?" The Jedi Master repeated with an approving smile. "An excellent choice, the Jedit Temple welcomes you! I'm looking forward to beginning your training as I sense great things from you in the future."
The Sith Master nodded his respect towards the youngster as well. And though he had chosen a separate past, he still acknowledged his decision with a tap of the wooden cane.

Skimion was pushed into the room and Kotatsu followed, robes billowing out and looking out of breath. She looked around and saw that few people remained. Blushing madly, she patted Skimion's head absently and left, crimson with embarrassment. Skimion rolled his eyes. Who got lost on the way to such an important meeting? And she was supposed to be his mentor. He looked around the room and saw that he had missed several things that had probably been important. Well, the point of the meeting was to decide, right? To choose a path, something out of everyone's hands but his own. Kotatsu had explained this to the best of her ability, which was not very good at all, but Skimion had gotten the gist of it. He had been thinking. He knew what Kotatsu was hoping he'd choose, rather feebly. Jedi. He bit his lip. What kid wouldn't want to be a jedi? You heard stories about the Sith...
But maybe he wasn't suited to be a Jedi. Sometimes he found himself thinking, sometimes when he wanted something, that he should just reach out and grab it, that it was ludicrously simple, that he could have whatever he wanted if he could jsut wrestle it away from everyone else. And in the end, back at home he couldn't even stand up to the boys who had ended up robbing people for food and goods when things became so bad at home that they barely had a meal a day.
But he did stand up. Just once, when a stranger came to pick him up and whisk him to a new destiny because the Force was strong within him.
He shook his head. He might as well let someone know he'd arrived. "Um, excuse me?" he said hesitantly. "I'm sorry I'm late, we got lost..."

"Well... better late than never I suppose" The Sith Master said in a gravel voice. "We have faced several delays already due to space travel and miscommunication. If it was that droid again--"
"We're pleased to have you hear Skimion." The Jedi Master, Sva-La, interrupted smoothly. Her friendly demeanor remained unchanged throughout the growing length of the meeting. "Since you missed the introduction, let me fill you in on what we're doing here. I am Jedi Master Sva'La and this is Char-Langui, the Sith Master." The togruta female motioned to her sour-faced counterpart. "We are here to answer any questions you or your sponsor may have before you decide your alignment."

Skimion nodded gratefully for the acknowledgement and explanation. "Ah, I don't think it was miscommunication so much as my sponsor being forgetful..." He felt embarrassed on her behalf, he had only known her a short while yet it seemed she was so hopeless all the time. "My sponsor and I have already decided that I will be here on my own while she waits outside for me." In her defense, he added "It was my suggestion this be so, I would rather not be pressured to choose my sponsor's own alignment and possibly choose wrongly." He took a breath and thought for a moment before posing his first question. "So if you don't mind me asking..." he said cautiously "What traits do you two think makes a good representative of your alignment?"

"We understand and can fully respect that." The Jedi Master nodded. She then paused for a moment before undertaking the latter part of the boys question. "The roles of a Jedi greatly depend on one's ability to work within a group or mediate disputes. As mediators and keepers of the peace, the traits of leadership, patience, empathy, understanding, loyalty, and perseverance are all wonderful attributes. A Jedi provides stability, order, and structure to the Galaxy."
"And on the other hand," The Sith Master began with a small flourish of his cloak. "The Sith pride themselves on their passion, dedication, drive, energy, and athleticism. A Sith tends to work in smaller groups or individuals and must therefore must practice self-reliance. A great emphasis is placed on lightsaber and battle techniques therefore athletic ability is also desired."

Skimion nodded slowly. Okay. Afraid of offending the two elders in the room, he refrained from sitting down to think, but instead quietly took stock of himself. Which could he see himself joining? He thought of the Jedi and it seemed they had to be endlessly patient, wise, and kind. Could he really live up to that? He would doubt himself every day. He was usually less noticable in a group, too. But more often than not he was the voice of reason, and the children on his home planet usually found his logic fairly sound... He knew how to lead fairly, but not how to take charge. He was not very patient, he knew that, but he wasn't very energetic either. But he was athletic and would have liked to think himself dedicated. Passion, though, he wasn't sure of. He certainly felt the drive to defend what he thought was correct. "Jedi..." he said "How does the Jedi moral code work? And the Sith?"

"There is no emotion, there is peace. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force. ----- Jedi are the guardians of peace in the galaxy. Jedi use their powers to defend and to protect. Jedi respect all life, in any form. Jedi serve others rather then ruling over them, for the good of the galaxy. Jedi seek to improve themselves through knowledge and training."
Sva'La folded her hands as she finished reciting several well known versions of the Jedi Code. She then turned to Char-Langui who continued on behalf of the Sith Temple.
"Peace is deceptive, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me."

Skimion looked down. Well... The Jedi life sounded right, but hard. And the Sith way sounded exciting, like a life lived on the edge, but also a bit dark and frightening, like you would be walking along the edge of a narrow precipice and trying not to fall. He shuffled his feet. He had to do what he thought was right. "If I try and fail, what will become of me?" he said quietly.

"Do, or do not." The Masters responded in unison. "There is no try." "Both paths are not without their share of trials and challenges." The Jedi Master continued. "It is your responsibility to commit yourself to the path of your choice and heed the instructions of your mentors. Focus on this and do not dwell on passive attempts or fleeting motivations."

A new batch of younglings had arrived at the temple that morning, and were due in the council room any moment. Char Langui and Sva-la sat on the floor in the center of the council room, meditating as they awaited the arrival of the children.

Small padded feet tapped lightly upon the temple’s stone floors, majestic hallways leading to the sparsely adorned cloister. Great things happened here as it was said, noted and remembered throughout the planets and stars. No one could forget about the happenings within rooms such as this that occurred hundreds of years before his own time. Wes shuddered as he gazed in silent awe at the doors and took a moment to collect his thoughts and calm his stomach. He was almost sure that breakfast would be more than happy to make a reappearance if he couldn’t settle his nerves.
Never before was the boy this strung up. Spitfire attitude had reeked from him on Corellia but now he felt drained of his normal self. He was faced with a sobering decision. Jedi or Sith? Wes cringed as he gathered the surrounding atrium before the doors feeling very much uncomfortable within his own skin. He scratched his arm, foreign and oh so far from home. He’d felt so normal at home, a boy dreaming of being someone great, some hero from hundreds of years ago, a Jedi. And the dream had been just that… at least up until a sponsor had come along and his fantasy turned into frightening reality. It had been a blur and a sweep of time. Now Wes found himself knocking knees before the Council doors with his answer: Jedi.
Yet, was he Jedi material? Strong headed and albeit a little bit dense, Wes felt like he knew what he was doing. Jedi. Jedijedijedi had been his life and dream and here it was unfolding before him. But now he was unsure. Wes, always compassionate, bold and brash, didn’t feel like he could always be at peace. His mother would want him to be a Jedi, stuck to ways long before her time when the Sith were scorned… Wes rolled his eyes at the thought. That was long before her time. Things had changed, hadn’t they? And his sponsor didn’t even take the time to meet him. It felt so…industrial. So fake until now. Decisions did matter and there was a set path. Wes took a moment, a rare moment, to calm himself. Determination pulled his features down and with blue eyes blazing he stepped into the council. It was only slightly unfortunate that Wes’ most determined tone came out as a terrified squeak.
“H-hello?”
