Why wouldn't you?
It's just a rock.

I guess it would really depend on how big the rock is?

And the judges did say purchasing/acquiring mundane weapons and armor could be permitted between matches, as long as you clear it with them first.
So, as long as it's not a magical rock, I don't think it'd be a problem.

It'd be like....bringing in a lead pipe. It's just a lead pipe, but it's still a weapon that you hadn't brought in.
However, if you were to fight in a place with rocks, that's using your environment to your advantage. That's encouraged.
Last year I ended up having to fight Saphen in a Zen garden, and the rocks had a part in the fight. For example, of course.

BUt this is news to me.

Flayer, and Sokoya make a good point. If you set it up with one of them, and then purchased the rock before the next round, I wouldn't see the problem with it. Or depending on whether or not you used the environment of the area to your advantage. Well, that's just a good idea, as well.

Okay. Where does one buy a rock? I have an interesting idea to test out for next match (if I make it).

We could set up something later today, if you want, Kenji? I could sell you one. How big of a rock, are we talking about, here?

I don't see how that wouldn't be possible. When I get off work, and make my way home... If you haven't found someone else by then, I'll sell you the damn rock, and you can cause some mayhem.

The only way you're getting a rock into here is if it's name-brand.
Everything sold at the GTB gift shop has GRAPPLE written across it.

I was just reminded how much more like liked Altair's hidden blade when you had to chop off a finger to use it properly.
...and how badass Altair is, being alive for like... 800+ years.
