"If Germany gives you guys, England, your side any trouble, and you need America to swoop in and bail your asses out AGAIN. LET US KNOW!"
Best line I heard in a long, long time.

Elliterate Because all the fighters stuck so strictly to their timelines right? Everyone of us posted at least once every 24 hours?
Come on guys. Would you rather fights that are graded to the best of their abilities or fights that are graded hastily?
Personally, I see exactly where Tenkai is coming from. He wants to go through every single fight and allocate as many points as possible to everyone. He wants the best for you and you're all bitching and moaning about it.I backread this, and immediately thoughts "Modern Day Society"

If the Judges can't judge on time they shouldn't be judges.
The same way players were DQ'd or docked for not posting on time.

I expect judging to take a few more days.
And if I'm wrong, I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Even still, I don't really harbor ill will towards the judges. I've been in their shoes.

I don't have any ill will towards the judges, I just find the system hypocritical to a point.
If the Judges are incapable of meeting their deadline they should just note it the same way contestants do. Even though Judges won't lose points for being late, it's just the right thing to do - telling people if you're having problems upholding your end of an agreement.
That being said, the Judges' job is extremely easy.

I'm not faulting judges, but KB for once makes a halfway decent point.
That being: even if it spans over multiple fights, reading a fight and making judgment on it unless you break it down piece by piece and waste hours putting retarded pictures with it to make fun of it like I do, cannot compare to the creation of the material to begin with.
Id est, the judge must manifest the image of what they read in their head. The writer however, must create that which they manifest, and in a case like this, constantly think ahead as to "is this in character? Should I move here or roll there?" like a game of Chess.
The judge however, has everything in its entirety ahead of them. There's no uncertain end. No surprises, at least in that regard. Read it. Note what's positive and negative. Make a verdict.
The difficulty factor comes into the judge handling multiple fights (which they must), and creating the image of badly written or confusing fights in their heads (which they must.) But that still should never be compared to those who write the content and thus bulk of the whole guild.
Which is why I fully respect judges not having things done lickity split, but if they put it off too many times, I call them lazy faggots and slap them unless they make my characters art. Then I just take off the -f*****t element.

Exactly. No one is saying the Judges can't lead normal lives or that they are expected to put their issues aside for the tournament. All a good person will ask for is some warning that that's the case, much the same as they do from fellow contestants.
The argument that the tournament wouldn't be happening without the Judges is an ignorant one. There are many people who would judge the GTB just so that it would be carried out, because they either don't want to participate in the fighting or feel like helping out the community. I know that I, personally, would have no objections to judging or hosting any type of event.
Now this year... things have been hit and miss, so with something like the brackets the players voiced their opinion. This is similar with the nature of judging and scoring. People will voice their opinions on the subject, and if enough people want it a certain way with valid points supporting them, hopefully changes will be made to the benefit of the entire event.
On a wholly personal note though, I think Vansin can speak for himself, and Elli should stop mouthing off for him since she "isn't a judge and hasn't seen the moderator subforum".
