My pleasure. I like talking about this sort of thing, as it is what I have studied for years now. ^_^

I might make a swamp cooler this year. . . then again, i am so lazy I probably won't . sweatdrop sweatdrop sweatdrop

A swamp cooler? Is that a special AC setup?

Yeah, it involves a cooler or bucket of some sort, a fan, a bit of duct work, and cutting a few strategic holes. It is supposed to work thusly.

The fan is pointed down into the vessel through a hole cut just for the size of the wind from the fan. Inside the vessel is some ice, cooling the air in there. With nowhere to go, the (cooled) air is pushed out a second hole where some duct work will direct the flow. It's a cheap DIY air conditioner.

Huh, that seems like it would work rather well. Certainly far more effective than propping your freezer open with a fan.

Waiting to get contacted for an interview is always the worst part about job-hunting... I just need to cast my net wide and I'll catch something eventually.

Im intimidated as hell, if I were to be honest. This is not a good area for jobs- which is why I am delivering pizzas to begin with. I just want to gtfo of PA. You, on the other hand, have my complete faith. I know you will knock their socks off!

CT isn't the best market for computer jobs, and while I am confident in my abilities, I'm always afraid I will be seen as incompetent due to my mistake-prone nature.

sweatdrop I have a near-crippling lack of self-confidence. At my core, I am just wanting to help people. Still, having a license in psychology is a daunting task requiring around 3k hours of supervised practice within two years just to qualify for the official license. Deciding to avoid that step means I will avoid the headaches of opening my own practice, but I still need to find a way to apply for jobs where i can put my education to work. In this area of PA, jobs are scarce to begin with. Jobs in mental health are even more so.

Then I guess we're quite similar in that vein.
That sounds a lot like the internships/fellowships/practicums my brother had to do after medical school. It's rough, but it should be worth it in the end.
As for moving, I think you mentioned earlier that you're open to moving where you need to go, so aside from the general hassle of relocation that shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Indeed. We ultimately want to get to the West coast, OR or WA preferably. The moving itself is the hurdle . . . finding a new place to establish ourselves in, packing things up, transporting 7 cats and 2 kids, and the entire circus that is involved in relocation. Really daunting, if I was to be honest.

Yeah, having just moved myself, I can attest to how much of a pain it was.

Washington's a good state, though I happen to like rain and my thus be biased.

7 cats? For some reason I thought you only had 2 or 3.

I meant to stop at 5 . . . but my family brought home a stray kitten, and he is my buddy. Then there was a family friend that had a kitten born (first birth of the female cat) and she was not being a mother, not even producing milk. The kitten was going to die. We took it in to raise and foster it . . . but after you hand raise a kitten from 8hrs old, you kind of have to keep it. sweatdrop

I have Chocobo, Andies, Dusk, Autumn, Vir, Riley, and Slade.

Ah, I see. I love cats (though I don't have any), so I can understand why you'd keep that kitten.

I have a massive soft spot in my heart for cats. I've had em most of my life (since I was 4), and they are the c***k in my anti-cute armor. I keep saying how when there is room, we are going to go to a shelter and adopt the least adoptable cats . . . adults and black cats. Unfortunately, we keep finding cats that need a home desperately long before we can even try. sweatdrop

I've considered having a pet when I'm out on my own, but the hair getting everywhere might be enough to stop me.
