*With a wide smile, he beams at Quasan*

"You've got to be observant, Mr. Quasan. I've been gone for the last day and a half on business to the North. I'm back now and shall oversee the repairs your in charge of. I'm going to have Mr. Ilor assist you in your charge. Now, you know what needs to be done then, am I right?"

"Yes captain. After the crew and I finish with cleaning off the ship, I shall return the Lady to its proper state of the colors you stated. I shall also use a couple of my inventions to help out with both tasks if you don't mind sir."

<< I apologize for not RPing my character earlier... I've been online, but not able to RP... Something about someone's art sweatdrop xd >>

*Jaden quickly climbed out of the skiff and followed the Doctor over to where the other Doctor she had seen aboard the ship was. She nodded mutely as he aknowledged her. She was quiet but listened intently to their conversation. She heard him call the Doctor "Baxter" and she began to ponder a little.*

"Hmm... I do wonder if it is his first or last name..." she thought quizicly to herself, but instead of asking at that moment she continued to listen carefully to their conversation.

*A low rumble off in the distance was the only thing that seemed to divert her attention from the conversation the two physicians were having. Storm clouds towered in the open skies over the water. Below it, the fog was ever inching it's way into the mainland. Even if she wasn't savvy to the ways of being aboard a ship, she knew what these storms brought. Close to where the clouds kissed the ocean, small bolts of lightening connected air with water. Again, a succession of deep bellowing rumbles crossed the now densely thickening fog.

She looked back to the Doctor, as he and the other had just finished their conversation. Jaden tapped his elbow and motioned with her head towards the impending weather.*

"Um, Doctor?... I do believe we best be trying to figure out what we need.... And I don't think we have enough time to find what we need and get back to the ship... I may not know much about sailing, but I know THAT is not something to just stand around for." She said a bit nervously as she pointed and another growl of thunder errupted from the encroaching skies.

*no sooner had she made her final comment, that dropplets of water began to pelt them and began to slowly change the ground's dusty dry surface to a dull, muddy version of its very self. The winds pushing the storm started to show the power of the storm due to come into the bay and soon the mainland. Jaden pushed her hair away forcefully while the wind wrapped tendrils of soft auburn curls across her face. Larger raindrops started to come down harder than just moments before and began to saturate the ground only further before she turned back to the Doctor to see whereabouts they should head*

<< and I hope my movement of the storm is alright>>

"What are you talking about? We have 12 hours. After the heat of the past few days, this rain is welcome, and I'll not let it stop me. A little water never hurt anybody."

With this, the doctor set out into the town and began to tend to things he wanted to see done. He hoped that Jaden followed behind until her decision was made.

Watching the weather from the roof of a church, Dr. Morgan considered his options. The Rescue was already swiftly tacking into the wind to reach open water. He would not be back aboard her until the storm was over, and he did not fancy rowing out to the Lady alone. The man Ivan had falied at his task and been captured, no less. The doctor grumbled just thinking about it.

"I picked the man up in Russia! How did he get to be so well known all the way here in Spain?"

As the clouds got closer, the doctor realised that his current position left him open to the elements. He looked around for a place to get inside, and spotted Baxter and his charge heading up the hill into the city.

"Well well. This could be fun, and the man's bound to be able to find a dry place."

He loped off over the rooftops after the pair, not intending to suprise them but keeping a low profile all the same.

*Extending his spyglass, he looked to the oncoming stormfront with a new zeel. A good storm always brought out the best in the Captain, and this was no exception. Crunching the expanded scope back into itself, Kurisutofa turned and addressed his midshipman.*

"A note of advice, Mr. Quasan. Never hesitate. Don't stand around until I tell you what is right or wrong. Take a chance and get the job done. If it's permission to use your inventions that your looking from from me, then by all means feel free to unleash the beasts upon her hull. But I warn you, if there is any extensive damage done to her bottom... well then, it's coming out of your share of the prize money."

*Smiling at him, he raised a hand in front of him and gestured Quasan toward midships of the ship.*

"Go, go! Be off with you. The storm will be here in no less then 2 hours. Use the rain to wash off her sides. Fresh water leaves a lice sheen... now, go perform your duty!"

*Turning to follow the young midshipman down the steps, the Captain left Mr. Ilor to play with Quasan's toys and preceeded to haul himself up the side. In a flash, he began to climb the shrouds. It had been awhile since he'd been the yards, and his boots showed the signs of having lost their wear and tear. The hemp ratlines frey'd and left little bits floating through the air as Kurisutofa made his way up the mast.

Choosing to go through the lubbers hole due to the now wet conditions, he pushed a wooden plank aside and climbed into Miss Sparrow's nest. The Platform was covered in a heap of rotting trash and tidbit collectables. He'd expected it to be bad, but not this bad. Kicking a banana peel off his boot, and passed by the sleeping lookout. Grabbing hold of the topgallant shrouds, he heaved himself higher into the air.

Up he climbed until he reached the very heights of the Lady. Securing his foot betwen a few mainstay'cables, he removed his spyglass once more and extended it to it's fullest length. Lowering the glass for only a moment, he removed a journal and charcoal from his inner pocket and began to scribble down what he saw.*

Quote:
April 20th:- Toulon

Location: Storm West off Cape head - 48* ~ 22'; 2 hours 'til land fall.
Conditions: Heavy Rain, Small Hail Stones & Massive Fogbank
Wind Speed: Masthead; High Breeze/Gale Force ~ 24 mph.

Note: Weather turning for the worst. Surface bolts; 12 seconds apart. 15 miles West of Toulon, Spain. Movement seems quick, but with-held. Orders to battendown all hatches, secure her inland and begin careening are to be issued. All orders are set.

*Returning the notebook to his pocket, he continues to survey the oncoming front from the Masthead. If the Crew needed him, they'd have to send a hand to fetch him, for he could not hear over the rumbling thunder that spread wide out across the bay of Toulon.*

*Using the shadows to appear around the captain's vercinity*
"Well well this is going to be one interesting storm, if that's all you have to say about her sir. What are my orders sir?"

((this may be random but I jsut realised this, but what happened to john he kinda like dissappeared...?)))
PostPosted: Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:40 pm

((No, it's perfectly fine. I realized that also. I'm hendering on the thought of your promotion, Mr. Ilor. I'm afraid to do this, but I'll have to demote 1st Mate Mr. John0935. I'll address the Crew about your promotion at a later time.))

*Not even turning at Mr. Ilor's appearance.*

"With all these clouds, you must be having a filed-day...

Well, Mr. Ilor, it seems to me that this storm means to break us. Alas, not on my watch, nor as long as I live will I let Mother Nature get the best of us.

Your orders, Mr. Ilor, are to assist me in bringing the ship onto the sandy shoals and to remove the growth on the hull immediately. Mr. Quasan was supposed to do so, but he's in town gatheriung supplies, yet here we stand and not with time to await his return. We need to do this now.

So, I need you to vanish ashore and find the thickest tree, post or column that we can use as an anchor. When you've located one, light a flare and signal to the Ship. Using the one of the swivel guns, I'll fire a line ashore. You'll have to wrap teh line about the tree three times and then fire the end of the line back to the Lady.

Once back onboard, we'll belay the line around the capstan and begin the strenuous task of heaving the Ship ashore. Have you got all that?"

-Her eye lids flickered as soemthign disturbed her sleep. With a groan, she turned over, tryign to escape the noise that now filled her ears. Her hand slipped into soemthign sticky, and a small scream escaped her lips as she awoke instantly.- "Ewww! I think that was the remains of an orange, I think." -She shook the guk from her hand and peked out of her nest. The sky was rather dark, and a storm had been brewing while she slipt. With a grumble, she stood, looking around. So her surprise, she spotted the Captain high up on the mast. She gave out a small sigh of relif, glad he wasn't wearign a kilt today. For those below deck he'd only be a speck, but to her..well, she'd have a frotn row seat, one she'd not want to be seated in.-

*Nods to the Captain*
"Aye sir, understood."
*In an instant he dissappears, and within that same instant his feet touch the sandy shore of Toulon once again. wasting little time he gets to work looking for a stable grounded anchor, and finds a nice thick tree within a range. With this done he lights his flare to signal the Captain.*

((If you think I deserve it. I mean I wasn't tryin to get promoted or anything I was just kinda wonderin what happened to him.))

*Ares walks on deck, her face paler than usual as her body tries to recover still from the fight and battling infection. She looks at the sky, and smiles a little. She loved storms. Then, she noticed the flare shot into the sky.*
Hmm, that must mean we're shoring the ship...
*she walks around, getting her hair tossled by the wind that moved the storm in closer. It was an intimidating cloud cover.*

*As the white flare shot straight into the sky, Kurisutofa had already returned to the deck and transfered the Aft-Starboard Swivelgun to it's mount on the bow. Having secured a lead line to the thick, musky hemp rope coil that was nicely coiled at his feet, he attached the lead line to a hefty lead weight that the line was looped through and square knotted.*

"ALL HANDS STAND CLEAR! MOORING LINES AWAY."

*Having said this, he takes a clear at aim towards Mr. Ilors location. Covering the powder hole with his right hand, Kurisutofa pours the gun powder into the breech of the gun. Lighting the slow match, he steps back, clears the coiled line of anything that might obstruct it's path and then places the match to the powder.

With a flash and a loud, delayed "KUR-THUG", the lead line is sent hurling ashore. The line swirls in a hypnotising circular pattern as the lead flys to it's mark. Onboard, the coiled line is quickly disembarked and disappears completely. No sooner than the lead disappeared behind the tree line, did the ship give a mighty lurch and all sound fell away.*

"Right then. I await Mr. Ilor."

*Seeing Ares come up on deck, he called to her.*

"Miss Ares, I'd like you to essemble your gun crew and ready them to go ashore. Grab the cargo-donkey and two 10 foot thin pieces of line. The Lady will be giving birth to four more beautiful bouncing baby cannons today."
