My faith is in the mighty armoured form of a Predator. 3nodding With relatively good AV´s, armamends for both anti-infantry and -tank roles and they come quite cheaply in points aswell, not the mention having fortunes of surviving most enemy shootings.
Why, I still have the good ye´oldie version predator annihilator that has survived even from a worst type of shootings before. biggrin
Dreadnoughts are also another "vehicle" I have such respect with. smile
That reminds me, I wonder how long it takes for the Forge World dreggy to arrive? ninja Lunar Okami Rose I've always loved the Whirlwind. A barrage of missiles each turn plus its nasty against a horde army as you can equip castellan missiles and cover into absolutely nothing as it ignores cover saves I hate whirlwinds. scream Specially if I use them. crying Have such dumb lucks with using one, usually ending not hitting anything because they scattered tooooo far off or blowing/killing my own units instead. Oh the horror!! gonk Lady Blodwynn The humble Rhino. redface Aaaaa, the good old rhino´s. Nothing annoyes the heck out of your oppoment then driving a rhino to block his units LoS. xD Good times.... >w<

Lady Blodwynn The humble Rhino. redface I don't see anything wrong with the Rhino, it does have the best background section of the entire Imperial Armour 2 book.

Cant be bad shooting the hell out of anything that comes your way and then smashing them into pieces. Unlucky with the Whirldwind. I've used the tank and for me some unlucky scattering has become a godsend taking out units that could have caused some damage. They also work great if you want to take out any super heavies in an Apocolypse game. Yes the rhino. Cheap, effective and spacious. The perfect vehicle for a tactical squad. What about the Razorback??? Not a bad piece of kit especially with the new weapons options. The Razorback is fast becoming my command tank for my Captain and Sternguard Squad

And with a new bitz pack coming out that allows the addittion of twin linked assault cannons it looks to be all the sweeter. I might try my hand at converting some heavy flamers for the razorback using some parts from the new Ironclad Dreadnought kit

Alright, guys. I'm preparing some special characters for a bit of work at my LGS. For Marines, we need the following:
Space Marine Captain, Librarian, Chaplain, and Master of the Forge.
I have no ideas as to what I want on them for rules, so feel free to be creative.

Captain Scark Jisith of the Black Consuls. 200 Pts Ws:6 Bs:5 S:4 T:5 I:5 W:3 Ld:10 Sv:2+/4+
Equipment: Blinding Wrath, power sword, bolt pistol, frag and krak grenades, Iron Halo and Teleportation field.
Special Rules: Any army with Scark may replace combat tactics with Blinding Shroud, this makes the enemy have to roll 3d6x3 to see your force, this lasts for one turn. Blinding Wrath is a Master-Crafted Plasma cannon which can reroll its scatter dice and has the following profile. 36" Str7 Ap2 Heavy 2 Teleportation Field is a arcane device Scark received from the Adeptus Machanicus for saving a irreplaceable STC from the clutches of the Orks. When Scark has failed his Invulnerable save from an Instant Death weapon, the player may roll a D6, on a 3+ the field engages and Scark is Deep striked 2d6 in a direction on the scatter dice.
Any ideas?

OP'd, for one.
The Blinding Shroud is a pretty cool rule, but doesn't make a lot of sense. It would be cool if by his rule, the enemy had to spend the first turn of shooting as if they were in night fight without gaining any benefit from searchlights.
His plasma cannon is over powered, but it's interesting to see a character with a heavy weapon. Given the whole "night fighting" thing, though, it would make more sense for him to be hidden.
By his save, he looks like a Terminator. Is he, or does he just have Artificer Armor?

Artificer, and I was trying to think of a well powered, good range and strong weapon. I guess you could give him a Missile Launcher, and spruce is up slightly... And yea, it was meant to be night fighting, I just remembered the measurement, not the name of it.

It would make more sense if you were to make two characters. One being the Captain and another being an upgradeable Bike for him with said Plasma Cannon.

I'd say go with something based on the Force Commander from Dawn of War 2, just add in the ability for him to carry heavy weapons at a reasonable rate with the least amount of special rules attached for clarities sake.

Someone in one of the forums a while back took all of the Characters in the current Marine 'Dex and worked out the rough points costs of each. I might hit him up with a PM and see if I can gank it for these purposes.
And...yeah. Lots of special rules makes for headaches.

Maybe it's because I'm getting older but I'm against tacking a lot of finicky rules to units. Personally I'd just leave marines as they are, the force command and chapter master entries both have excellent build options and special rules.

Oh right, some Space Wolf rumours: - There will be a special character riding a Rhino sized wolf. - Woof characters can be customized with sagas. For a set amount of points you can add heroic tales to your character, which in turn confer a special in game bonus. - Woofs will have special lightning claws called "the Wolfs Claws" that allow for either a re-roll or misses or wounds. - Scouts gain access to the LS Storm - Assault Marines gain the new name Storm Riders edit.
