Though nearly everyone I know in rl that has seen DBZ keeps saying it's literally the best anime ever and that the characters are the strongest characters in the history of all anime and manga.
I got no clue if I should take their word for it or not D:

I got no clue if I should take their word for it or not D:In some cases DBZ characters can destroy entire planets with one energy blast. So I would say they are pretty strong! xd

So I would say they are pretty strong! xd It's definitely not the best anime ever. Dragon Ball is better than Dragon Ball Z, too. >_> Not the strongest characters, either. Ridiculously strong, yes, but in terms of sheer insane destructive power, I don't think I have seen anything that trumps Gurren Lagann.

So I've heard, though if that's all that they can do, I don't think that would make them the strongest characters aroundHoly crap, thank you! Me being a stranger and all to the series, I don't really fully understand what characters in DB and DBZ can do and all. Though I got into a rather heated argument with someone today in rl over Dragon Ball and how all the characters are the best and most powerful characters around. I can get where they're coming from with the ability to destroy planets as a whole and such, but when I tried to explain the sheer size of STTGL being the size of not one, but several galaxies, they just refused to listen at that point ._.

If you put STTGL against Goku, Goku would win and here's why. STTGL can't crush a planet. As far as we know it can just walk on the energy of the galaxy. So Goku only has to do a instant transmission to the core of STTGL's energy, which is Simon, and then a punch would do it...

Goku can transform into a God. I feel as if I missed something, then. As far as I recall, none of the Super Saiyan forms provided Godhood. And if we're bringing gods into this, Ryuk from Death Note would be able to beat Goku, too.
