Malee: They're OCs of mine. ^^ Merro is a well-bred but badly-raised girl who basically runs away from home and joins the army. *snicker* William is the Commander that she serves under after being knighted. William's younger brother John is the one who actually takes Merro as a Novice but William has nearly as much to do with her training as John does. I love these three the most out of all my OCs currently. <3 I could blab about them for daaaaays. XD

Taylor, I'm just stating what I see. Maybe if I put on my glasses I might see better. *flails around lost*
I don't have photoshop either, I have PSP but I have done doll edits in Paint and yes, it is difficult. Also, I think you misunderstood my magic tool comment. Running a magic tool over it doesn't give you shading, it gives you random blobs of different colors that look nothing like shading.

I hope the dress looks okay...I spent a good few hours on it with shading.
There's about twenty to thirty different shades of red on it. crying

Try a darker/more contrasting color. ^^ And yeah, it probably would make a difference if Cid was standing alone, but since he's not, the shading will change since there's additional light-blockers, so there should be more shading than if he was standing alone anyway. (Did that hideously convoluted sentence make sense?)
The story is ye olde generic European-based medieval fantasy. ^^

I'm also going to work on the shading of Antell's dress thingy. I tried a while ago but it looked crappy.
*is thinking of redrawing everything but the bow and ribbons* stressed
