Yoshi leaped down from the tree onto the solid ground. He carefully stepped over to one of the targets that obviously had been used for quite some time. Upon inspecting it he noticed aiming might be harder than he thought it was. Taking a kunai, he stepped a few feet away. Tossing it straight at the center, he missed horribly, the kunai bouncing off the side, even the blade didn't stick. Relaxing himself, he stepped a bit farther away. Cracking his neck on his left shoulder than his right in one swift motion. It was time Yoshi got serious about this. Squinting one eye he stuck his tongue barely as some do when aiming. He hurled the kunai with whatever focus he had. It was success, he had hit the target, not anywhere near the bulls eye but close.

About an hour later, he was hurling the kunai faster and farther at the target. Practice does sure it make perfect, Yoshi was gleamed with success. However, he was unable hit dead center. With his last few kunai he hurled them in quick bursts. The final one was thrown a bit more carefully than the other. Then it happened, he had hit the center of target. Walking over he glanced at the metal kunai. Stretching his hand out he pulled it out. Picking up a any lose kunai.

Now that he had both some walking jutsu and target practice, it was time to prepare for the other jutsu that needed to be learned if he were to excel as a ninja. He sat on the ground, thinking of ways to train and learn the jutsu inside and out. Upon standing he saw a rig covered with old leaves and a branch. This was just what he needed in order to master another jutsu. Fooling around with the device he saw that it was like a bow gun, firing straight up into the air. Smirking he took up a kunai then placed in on the spring of the device pulling at it, the kunai sliced through the air and bounced of a tree that obviously been hit many times from it. Taking out one the basic ninja tools, wire. Rigging the trap with a kunai then tied and wrapped the wire around the trigger so he would be able for him to pull the trap from a distance.

For the first shot, he decided to test it to determine the exact position where the kunai would land. Pulling the wire, t he kunai shot towards the designated spot where Yoshi had predicted. Drawing another kunai from his pocket, he loaded the spring. Climbing up the tree using his chakra he lined himself up where the kunai would launch to. "It's now or never!" he thought to himself. Jumping off the tree he pulled the wire. the kunai projected straight towards him. The kunai hit him straight in the shoulder he wasn't quick enough the substitution jutsu. Falling to the ground he noticed that kunai puncture was not fatal or in need of serious medical attention. Pulling it out of his shirt and skin, yoshi winced. Looking down at the blood dripping slightly off the kunai. If his parents had figured out what had gone on today they would have kept him from becoming a strong ninja. From his reading he had learned enough pressure would help stop the bleeding.

After about ten moments of applying pressure to the wound he tried again loading the spring with a kunai. He repeated the process over and over again, three consecutive times he had been hit in both shoulders. Maybe he was pushing himself too hard or he should take a rest. But then he thought to himself "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". With pride he rigged the trap with a kunai. The kunai rocketed toward him as he quickly used the substitution technique. Amazingly he had done it, a tree trunk was hit instead of him. But there was a lot more he needed to master before he'd consider himself ready to go out into the real world where mistakes cost you the lives of not only yourself but your teammates.

After taking a brief break Yoshi resumed his training. As the sun became higher, the better Yoshi felt, he was never one for shadows and really dark places. Stepping outside the patch of forest he wandered over to a rock. The training was starting to take its toll on Yoshi, so he decided to learn against for a moment. If he wanted to become a powerful ninja he needed to give more than he had been giving. Taking his weight off the rock he straightened his ninja band, making sure it was well attached to his head. Forming the proper hand signs he attempted to use the Bushin no Jutsu. Focusing his chakra he covered his eyes hoping to get it right. As history suggested it was a failure, nothing appeared.

Frustrated at getting everything wrong, "Why couldn't something work for me without so much effort and practice, like a prodigy or something" . Calming himself down he knew he could do it if he just tired a little harder. Forming the nessacry signs he used the Bushin no Jutsu, a clone appeared half deformed. "Oh great...." he clone soon vanished without a trace. Kicking the ground, knocking some of the grass out of its root system in a small clump. That wasn't going to stop him, no matter how hopeless things may be, he had to press on against the currents.

After several tries and chakra wasted on the technique,he finally was able to form and hold the clone with stronger and more realistic perception. Staring at the clone was kind of surreal, if hadn't focus so hard this clone would have never existed. Forming a hand sign, the clone disappeared in a small poof. With another jutsu learned under his belt, he decided to try one of the more simpler but crucial techniques that you could learn at this stage.

Yoshi stared up at the sky as clouds drifted softly by. Clearing his throat he scanned around the area, looking back to the rock he got an idea. In the proper sequence with his hands he used the Henge no Jutsu. Transforming himself into a similar looking rock. The only problem was that this rock had feet and one arm. "God damn it..." he said to himself again. Soon he transformed back into himself. "Let's try this dance again." Yoshi said softly out loud. he saw a stump nearby. It was a perfect thing to emulate at this stage. The Henge no jutsu was used again, Yoshi transformed almost perfectly into a stump but his a** was hanging out of the back of the truck. Feeling the high of sucess was a bit premature as he looked in back to see if had done it perfectly this time. Nope, he still had to bugs to work out of it.

In a strong commanding voice he shouted "Henge no Jutsu!" and had transformed not only into a trunk but a whole tree nearly perfectly. Let's see how long I can hold this position he thought to himself. A dozen moments later he transformed back into Yoshi.

"Whew..I need to rest for a bit" Yoshi sat down on his back and looked up at the blueness of the sky.

Sinking to a state of peace as he watched the clouds linger among the brilliant blue sky. Closing his eyes he could hear the wind, then the wind through the trees and on the long grass. Unknown to him he was sinking to a meditative state. Spreading his arms out he felt the dew had gone from the grass. Each slender piece rustled and passed through each of his fingers. Yoshi slid deeper into deeper to a quite calm state of mind. reaching across his chest Yoshi felt where had been injured by the kunai. Soon the wounds didn't see to hurt as much physically and mentally , although they were still pretty obvious from the blood stains on his clothes.

Yoshi came under a trance going to a dream like state after the first thirty moments,he would never become this vulnerable but it was nice for a bit. Soon his fears started to cloud his mind, especially spiders and darkness. His facial expression began to look like it was in pain. The calmness was now replaced by fear and confusion. Turning from once side to the other he finally did a roll before waking up. His head rose fast as he gasped for air even though he was not out of breath. Nightmares can haunt you at any ninja rank no matter how trivial or unusual.

As time passed Yoshi leaned up, that was enough psychobabble for him today. Going through his mind he thought of one of the more challenging training, at least to him, chakra molding. He could feel some his chakra had been restored to his body and he was going to definitely need it. Focusing his chakra he began to feel the same emotion when he learned to walk on trees and water. Running over to the small body of water he ran across it, he already established this kill but it was only part of it. Yoshi stepped off the water to the grass. Concentrating he moved some chakra to his left hand which soon illuminated in front of him. The aurora was quite bight as he Yoshi inspected each side of it. His glow soon faded back to normal, chakra focus was hard for him but he needed for the jutsus he wanted to be proficient in.

Closing his eyes yet again he tried to repeat the process with other hand. Sure enough the other hand started to radiate like before. Moving the chakra he made the right hand glow too. With both hands glowing he forced even more chakra evenly or what he though twas even between the two. He was unable to maintain it for awhile. Walking over to one of the trees Yoshi inspected his hand then the tree. Forming charka in his right hand he punched the bark the tree. He could start to see the more chakra was put in his hand the stronger the attack would be.

Stepping back from the trunk he began to mold his chakra into the center of his body. Yoshi could almost feel the chakra around him, now came the harder part. Pushing some new chakra throughout his body, evenly which didn't seem to be another one of fortes. Feeling another meditative state coming on, Yoshi started to realize that they were almost connected. Soon his whole body glowed with chakra, field around him was a rushing aurora. Using the Bushin no Jutsu he created a another perfect clone. Anyone could tell he was getting better at gathering releasing all his chakra.

Now that he was able to balance and use the chakra he wanted to push himself to the limit with his training. Yoshi walked over to the pond yet again. Disturbing his chakra evenly on his feet he dashed across back and forth. After that he went back into the wooded area of the training area. Hoping from one side of a tree and another, he kept himself attached. At one point he was able to hang upside from the trees like a bat. Beaming with knowledge and power, he felt like he could take on the world.

Ame was never keen on knowing where he was going. In fact, he had never thought of something like that for about the past 16 years of his life. He was never in a hurry to know what pain may lye ahead. As a wise man once said. Those who seek pain, know no calm. Ame thought the saying was a little funny, giving how ironic it was. Most people out for blood were plenty clam. They never once gave a second thought to who they killed. If that wasn't calm, then Ame was completely lost on the word. He doubted as such. The Murasame clan was very compassionate about their teachings, and the home schooling that Ame received while he had stayed with them was probably better than most. What else would you expect from a wealthy clan. Of course, that wasn't all that the Murasame had done for him. Ame would be sure to note that fact, and throw it away. The very thought of his past life made him angry, and regret having lived in a life like his. There was nothing he could do about it now, though. So, he would just have to suck it up and push on through life. Ame broke a slight smile. There was no way for him to do that, was there? If there was one, he would hopefully find it soon.

Ame soon broke out into a walk. He had places to be at that moment, and he couldn't sit around all day. Tying he same old black and torn bandana around his eyes, Ame soon found himself listening to the world around him. The birds seemed to be out today, which was unusual. And it was sunny, which was even more of an oddity. What exactly was going on? Was there such thing as a good day? Ame found himself suppressing the thought. He hadn't had a good day for a while now. Not ever since he was forced to stop going to the local restaurant. In fact, he remembered that Lin was starting the Academy today as well. Ah Lin. Ame remembered the blond girl quite well. She was the only nice person she had actual met. Well, he would take that back. She was the only real person he had met. His clan was rather nice to Ame, since they had put so much money and time into training him from an early age. A sigh escaped Ame's lips. Yes, on his off days. Ame would usually go to the restaurant, to see Lin if nothing else. It was the only cool place outside of his clan's home, and that was the only place he had decided he wanted to be, giving the fact that he didn't feel welcome anywhere else. The thought was damaging.

Ame shook himself from the those dark and depressing thoughts and focused on the world around him, allowing it to guide him to the Academy. The birds were definitely singing their wonderful song, songs that Ame hadn't heard the last time he was outside. And he could feel the warm sun on his face. It was refreshing. Ame quickly reached to the back of his head and tightened the strap around his eyes. He wouldn't allow it to come off in the public, around complete strangers. No. His eyes would remain sealed until he felt it necessary to reveal them. His lead instructor once told him that if you could convince an enemy you were weak, and then attack them with an attack that completely overpowered their defenses afterwords, your victory would be quick, and sweet. Ame didn't quite understand that. But he figured that if he wore the head band around his eyes, than that would mean people wouldn't think twice about trying him on for size. In fact, it would probably mean that most of the Academy students would choose him as a sparring partner. He did look the weakest, he believed out of everyone that would probably show up. That caused Ame to sigh once more. Deception never solved problems.

Finally, Ame reached the Academy. He wasn't quite sure what he should be doing at that moment, but the doors looked like they were unlocked, and ready to accept visitors. He doubted that it would be a walk in the park, but he would at least give it his best once he entered. There shouldn't have been much too it, since he was prone to being able accomplish tasks beyond his level. This caught the eye of his instructors most times, allowing them to go harder on him. One hand to hand combat session lasted a total of seven hours because Ame was able to master the ability to conserve stamina while fighting a larger opponent, while simultaneously draining their stamina in the process. It was a deceitful trick, but Ame decided he needed to do it if he was going to win the fight. He realized that life was just one lie upon another, and no matter what you did, you would always have someone deceiving you. Ame decided that there would be a few people in his life he would trust, but he hadn't found them yet. there had to be. No one could travel through life alone. It was unnatural. Ame shook his mind from the random thoughts and pushed open the doors. A husky Jounin was sitting at a desk in front of him, and Ame ignored the man, knowing full well that he would just look at him with impudence and berate him on some minor detail. It was always the same. The abuse of power.

Ame walked until he got to the class room he knew he was assigned too. Yes. There were quite a few, but this class would be his own. It was down a long narrow hallway, and the wood made a pungent smell that messed with Ame's senses. In fact, he almost ran into a newly graduated Genin because of it, if it were not for his hearing. The thought was devastating. He didn't know that he could be so careless. Ame gave himself a mental reprimand for the fact and sighed silently to himself. Hopefully there wouldn't be anymore problems like that one in the future. Such thoughts were lost on him though, because the anxiety and nervousness of meeting his new class was upon Ame, and he slowly opened the door, peering in. He took in the new smells, and noises. He found it was a little harder to smell the different people than normal, but it could be expected. One smell stood out though, and Ame's head perked up. Lin? No. It couldn't be. It was. He would recognize her scent anywhere. There was no mistaking it. Ame beamed and stepped into the classroom fully, placing his hands on his hips. "Lin? Long time no see, eh?" he said aloud, his smile growing into a grin. Quickly, he made his way to her seat and sat down next to her, reaching up to his face to uncover one eye.

A single ocean blue eye stared at Lin for a long time, almost tearing. Lin had been his only friend while he was growing up. She was the only one kind enough to have offered him friendship when he was younger, and the fact that she was here, right now, made him smile. That meant he could talk to her again, like he had done long ago, when they first met. She was incredibly intelligent, and her origami flowers always mystified Ame. Her skill fascinated him to no end, and he remembered asking her countless questions about it. Her parents didn't find it to amusing. But, that never stopped Ame. He was always curious to learn more. The fact that she was here now, made Ame's day, that much better. This was most likely the reason that there were birds and a sun out today. Lin was going to be a class mate.

As he was resting a bit he wanted to keep the good flow going. There was another training exercise he thought of learning. Although it had to do with focusing chakra, he thought the training would help him improve thus making a more power kenjutsu user. Sitting down in Indian style position, he picked up a single green leaf off the ground before it flew away. Yoshi attached the leaf to his headband. The trick was to focus your chakra to keep the leaf stuck to your forehead. The training was easier said than done, in Yoshi's case especially. Sitting still he began to try to focus his chakra to keep the leaf from flying away. Soon as the breeze kicked up the leaf blew away. In a comical reaction, Yoshi chased after the rouge leaf. Almost catching it slipped through his fingers.

Sighing briefly went over to the forestry area. Ripping off a healthy branch with some effort he brought it back out into the open field. Sitting down roughly out of irritation, he took a leaf off the branch then placed it on his head. Yoshi brought his chakra to his forehead. The sun was starting to hit up the land around him. A bead of sweat rolled down his backside as he struggled to keep the single leaf in place.

Thirty moments later the sweat kept coming and he was still holding onto the leaf. Yoshi wanted to make it bit harder because missions always get complicated and more involved. Standing up he started to walk while keeping the young leaf glued to his forehead. With a moment of no concentration lead the leaf to fly away. "Why can't I get this?" he said to himself. "This is a crucial step and I have to get over it!" Rushing back over to the branch he had left, he picked up another leaf. Sticking it to his forehead, Yoshi Started to walk again. As more time passed, so did his confidence in this exercise.

At one point he started to run around the area with the leaf adhered on his headband. He started to be able to do it. The air going through his lungs and his chakra, he felt invincible again. He did everything he had practiced on earlier. First he went from tree to tree like some kind of monkey who could stick to anything, Soon enough you could see Yoshi doing back flips off the trees. Now he really wanted to get serious, he approached the water. This was all or nothing time for him. so he dashed across the water. With caution he felt with one hand, the middle of his headband. The leaf was still there which mean he was finally making some big progresses today. Finally he sat down and released the clinging chakra. The young leaf fell to the ground, being sentimental he placed it his back pocket as a memento.

Now that he used up a lot of his chakra focusing on water leaping, tree climbing and leafs on his head, he wanted his physical strength to match his charka molding and control. Heading toward the academy, he noticed he was limping this would prove to be problematic for his efforts to build speed and strength. He felt again the wounds from the kunai he had launched at himself, a daze came over his eyes. He could feel the scene sound he had listened to when he practiced mediation. All the skills started to make sense to him, they all rested on the others. In order to know the jutsu he dreamed of using he would need to achieve the level of activation.

Going through the doorway of the building he scanned around. He always had trouble remembering where things were certain items were stored. The fact that people used them and sometimes didn't return said items to the proper place. Searching through the closet he found them, training weights he needed to help build his speed. Attaching them to his legs, he walked outside. The weights were a bit more heavy than he was used to. Now, came the fun part, doing laps around the academy. Moving his legs back and forth he was now at the side of the school. Lap after lap he got into a funk, he was able to meditate while running. Yoshi's ongoing memory of the spider still kept coming up, soon or not he would have to get over this fear. Rubbing the scar slightly Yoshi passed the front of the building again. The running mileage was really blending together, soon he didn't remember how many laps he had taken. Before he knew it, the sweat was pouring out and the sun was only getting warmer.

Almost falling down he had pushed his legs to their limits. Pretty much out of breath he walked down the hall to the kitchen. Putting a cup out he took a drink of water to help re-hydrate so Yoshi wouldn't have a heat stroke. After several cups of water he walked to the weight room. Tossing his leg weights off he went over to the bench press. Getting under the bar he started to push the weight up and down with his arms. He was a lot of better at this than any other skill, it was pretty simple compared to the other techniques it was butter. Yoshi did many reps, losing count yet again but had to push beyond the limits he had established.

Moving over to another bench did his biceps with left arm first than the right. In quicker succession and more reps one each arm, he could feel his muscles becoming stronger. He was kind of fit before but this was on a whole other level. He moved from the reps, to more curls. As Yoshi did his exercise he saw all the other ninja working to their goals. His hidden goal was not enough, he had to help save his mother and father, the whole village if need be.
Again and again he kept letting his mind wander which in this instance it was a helpful thing. His muscles started to catch up with as he tried building
up his pecs. All the energy he put into himself today was laying the foundation for wherever the good humor smiled upon him. Reality came back to him, Yoshi muscles were aching badly. Dropping the weights on the floor the sound echoed throughout the complex. It was a symbol that he completed his training here. Stumbling out the complex he looked out at it, smiling a bit he headed out, he had finished his training here.

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, munch munch munch. That was the beautiful sounds of the classroom. The sound of the clock counting the seconds as time moved on its steady journey forward. But her journey was being delayed. Geez! Hurry up already teacher!' The though almost unwillingly pushed itself out, as her mouth mimicked the movements as if she was speaking out loud. Luckily she didn't, it wouldn't be good to enrage the teacher before he even began the training. She would be forced to sit impatiently and just wait. At least she could keep herself distracted with her art. She finally broke her rude, and glaring gaze away from the jounin to look down at her hand. In her palm laid her newest creation, a lotus. All of the points and folds were perfect, creating an exact replica of the beautiful flower. It was one of the harder origami creations she had ever attempted. It took her quite some time to master the design. It was so realistic that she could lay it down next to a real lotus, and the only way one could tell the difference is because of the colors. Hers was one color, which souly depended on her mood, while the other had multiple colors. But still, the lotus was her favorite creation.

Her gaze was broken away from her creation as she heard something that was so familiar. Was it really him? It had to be, she couldn't forget his voice. Besides he knew her name, so it must be. She quickly turned her head looking over at Ame, with a surprised look on her face, though he wouldn't be able to tell since he had his usual black bandana covering his eyes. It must be difficult to function on a daily basis walking around not being able to see. His other senses must be heightened intensely. Her mouth opened, but before she had the chance to respond he quickly rushed over to her and sat down right beside her. The lotus that sat in her palm quickly unraveled changing back to its original form as a flat peice of paper. Amazingly enough the paper didn't have any creases from being bent in so many different directions and in to various forms. But it wasn't any ordinary paper... The paper quickly slid up her forearm attaching itself to Lin's shirt, changing color to match it perfectly.

As he sat down beside her she couldn't help but smile, and her body language changed. If anyone was watching her she was quite relaxed, and slightly annoyed that the teacher was taking so long to start the class up. The way she sat at the desk, her arm lay out on the table top, the way she sat in her chair like a young child sitting in class detention on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was apparent that she was annoyed but now... Her mood has definitely changed. She immediately perked up in her seat, pulling her arms close to her sides, gently resting the palms of her hands on her lap. The bow on her head changed color as well, to a light pink. It was something that always annoyed her, when her mood or emotion changed, so did the paper she controlled. Luckily no one really knew her well enough to read the emotions. Only her parents knew of a few of them, but even they couldn’t tell what all of them meant. As Ame moved part of the bandana away from his face revealing his sky blue eye, Lin shifted once again, sliding her hands forward until they were resting on her knees. He was staring at her, which made her panic a bit, her eyes not able to stay locked on his. She looked down at her hands for a moment a million thoughts racing through her head. She wasn’t normally like this with people. She was so outgoing, so social able. But Ame, he was different there was something about him. Whenever he was around she couldn’t help but feel shy. She has known him for so long, he would always come in and visit her parents restaurant. That’s when she was happiest. He was rather mysterious, which is why she believed people would say things badly about him. They always would whisper and stare at him like they truly knew him. Sure he looked mysterious, and the scar probably made people speculate things about him. But she knew him from the things he would say. He always made her smile, and laugh. Even if it was something so corny. Others never had the ability to make her smile like that. But all he had to do was walk in to the small restaurant and her whole mood would change, much like it did right now.

Lin sat there silently in front of Ame for quite some time. She was lost in a day dream, with a huge cheesy smile on her face. If he was watching her eyes then he would notice that she was thinking of something. And in an instant she snapped back in to reality, her eyes grew wide and she looked up at Ame slightly embarrassed. She didn’t ever reply to him, she just sat there silently. ’Say something, say something you dummy!’ She yelled at herself in her head before finally speaking. ”Ame! I am so happy to see you it really has been too long. I am so ha-“ She was interrupted. Of course, the jounin would choose this moment to start the class. Right as she was about to talk and catch up with Ame. She turned her head and glared at the husky Jounin who was beginning to great the half empty class room.

”Hello there students, welcome to the academy. I am sure you are all ready to start your training, thank you for waiting patiently. I will be teaching you five jutsus that all shinobi should know. They are fundamentals, and basics. But each is valuable in there own way. Now then everyone watch carefully!” He proclaimed to the class as he lightly chuckled. He did a quick hand sign and created a clone of himself, then another, and another. He created one clone for each student. Each one stood in front of the class room, their hands closed, forming a fist placed firmly against their hips. ”Now then, I have a created a clone to help each and every one of you learn the five techniques you need to learn before leaving this school. Now then let’s get started!” The clones dispersed around the room walking up to each student, being their own personal tutor.

Lin glanced over at Ame, as the clones began to disperse towards each student. She quickly looked back up front and smirked as the clone stood in front of her. He bowed and greeted her introducing himself. The clone that stood in front of Ame did the same. The Jounin’s name was Ookina Shinzou, which meant ‘big heart’. The first jutsu the instructor clone showed them how to do was Henge no Jutsu. This technique was the first and most basic jutsu any aspiring shinobi would need to know. The instructor explained how to perform the jutsu. The first step was to gain the perfect image of what you wanted to transform yourself in to. Once you had the image ready, you would need to perform step two. Equally balance the chakra throughout your body. Once that was done all that was left was the simple hand sign that the clone repeatedly showed the two how to do.

The clones motioned to Ame and Lin to see if they could perform the task. Lin glanced over at Ame. She was certain he would have no trouble pulling off such a simple task. But balancing the chakra through her body, she knew that would be troubling. But she didn’t want to seem inept at performing the easiest jutsu they would learn. Lin took a deep breath and looked away from Ame before looking up at her teacher. The image was an easy one, she would just try and copy the teachers appearance. Now step two, focusing the chakra throughout her body. She took a deep breath and tried her best to concentrate, trying to become calm and under control. A few minutes passed as she stood with her eyes closed until finally, they shot open. It appeared she was nervous for no reason, she was able to channel her chakra better than she thought. The now all that was left was the final step, she moved her fingers and placed her hands together. A poof of smoke surrounded her once small frame. Once the smoke cleared, there stood an exact replica of the jounin’s clone. The clone smiled at her success and gave her a thumbs up. And with a simple poof, Lin changed back in to her normal form.

The next jutsu that the clone teachers were ready to teach the two was Bushin no Jutsu, which was what Ookina used to make all the clones. This jutsu was also a rather easy starting jutsu explained Ookina. He showed the necessary hand seal to perform the jutsu and explained how the chakra would had to be spread through the body, and distributed outwards to create a clone. It wouldn’t take much chakra to create the clone, hence why it was rather easy to perform. Lin nodded her head before focusing her chakra once more. She repeated in her head over and over, focus the chakra outwards. She felt the chakra flowing, her energy level high. She combined her hands, and created the appropriate hand seal. POOF, standing next to her was an identical clone of herself, paper bow and all. That wasn’t so hard. She was glad the academy jutsu’s weren’t too challenging, she wouldn’t want to fail in front of Ame, she couldn’t handle an embarrassing moment like that.

Ookina grinned and clapped his hands, his second favorite part of the class was happening now, the art of substitution. This was a combination of speed, and chakra Ookina explained. By spreading the chakra throughout the body, the ninja would be able to use the energy to quickly move out of the way, then taking the chakra you spread it in to an object that you plan on using for your substitution. Lin thought it sounded simple enough. Ookina then explained how the clone would be using a nonlethal, strike to practice using the jutsu properly. This is why Ookina loved this part, for those who couldn’t use the substitution correctly; they would be hit by his strike. He didn’t mean it in a violent way, he just enjoyed seeing the faces of the young academy students that didn’t avoid the attack. Ookina looked at Lin and Ame and nodded asking if they were ready. Lin was ready. She took a step back and grabbed a book that sat on the desk to use as the substituted her. She placed it down beside her and nodded at her teacher. He grinned a devilish grin and lunged forward quickly cocking his right arm back. And with rather sluggish, sloth speed he threw it forward at her face, his pointer finger and thumb creating an o, the point where they met aimed directly at her forehead. Ookina’s clone yelled happily as he flicked her forehead rather hard. It appeared that Lin didn’t make it out of the way in time. That is until the image of Lin disappeared, and all that sat in front of his hand was the book she placed beside her. The book fell to the ground making a clapping noise as it hit the ground. Ookina’s clone just smirked, pleased with her performance. There was only a bit more training techniques to go before the young academy students could start their true journey. Ookina’s clones motioned to Ame, and Lin to follow them towards a door in the back of the class room. The clones opened the door and stepped through, Lin followed them closely, looking back at Ame to see if he was following. They were leading the two towards a room that had a large tree and a small pool in side of it. Ookina’s clones instructed that the two of them would need to be able to walk on the water without falling in, and be able to reach the top of the tree before they were permitted to leave the academy as Genin’s. The two clones poofed away. She let out a small sigh, and looked towards the water, then back at the tree. Which one would she start with first? She wasn’t in the mood to get wet, so might as well be the tree.

She slowly walked up to the tree and placed her right foot on the base, shifting her weight leaning on her right leg. In order to climb the tree she would have to focus the chakra to her feet. Too much would mean she would catapult herself off of the tree, too little and she wouldn’t be able to stay balanced while climbing up the tree. She removed her foot from the base, and took a step back. She looked up to the top of the tree, which appeared to be about seventy feet high. That would be quite the climb without using her hands. She took a deep breath and focused the chakra in to her feet. She ran at the tree planting her feet firmly on the tree trunk, running up the side. She made it about ten feet before she felt her body being pushed off of the tree. She jumped back and landed softly on her feet. ’This could take a while.’ She thought to herself as she looked up the to the top of the tree. She would keep at it though, continuing to try and get to the top, over and over. Each attempt she would make it a foot, maybe a foot and a half higher. She was getting tired, but she was so close to the top she couldn’t stop now. After countless tries, and what seemed like an eternity she had finally made it to the top. She sat down on a branch that was at the top of the tree and looked down to the ground below her. She wasn’t sure if she would be able to do it, but she did. Today’s training was going so well, she was rather pleased with herself. It was time to try her final task so she could achieve the rank of genin, and be able to leave the academy. She jumped down branch by branch until she was at the bottom of the tree, back on the ground.

One last thing stood in her way, the pool. She slowly approached the pool looking over her shoulder to see how Ame was doing. She was sure he was doing quite well, if she could do it, he was probably coasting by easily. She looked back in front of her to the task at hand. It was just like the tree training exercise, all she had to do was focus the chakra to her feet. She knew a thing or two about water though, seeing as where she lived it always rained. Water was constantly flowing, therefor when she focused her chakra in to her feet she would need to make sure the chakra was ready to shift so that she wouldn’t fall in to the pool. It would be easier said than done though. But so far everything was a success; there was no reason why this attempt would be any different. With a deep breath she put her right foot forward, concentrating her chakra to the soles of her feet. She slowly placed her foot on to the water, wobbly balancing half of her weight on her foot. It was all or nothing, she exhaled and put all of her weight forward balancing on one leg, standing on the water. She put her arms out like she was walking a high wire helping her balance so she wouldn’t fall in. She slowly placed the other foot down on to the surface of the water. Once she felt comfortable enough, she slowly lowered her arms down to her sides. She slowly, and shakingly raised her right foot of the water, and then placed it down in front of her, then followed by her left foot. She was doing it, she was walking on the water. Thankfully, she really wasn’t in the mood to go for a swim. She continued to stroll around on the water, looking around the room, quite proud of her self. After about twenty minutes of walking she hopped off the water, and back on to the solid ground. She was finished with her training. All she had to do now was go speak to the teacher and see if she did a good enough job to achieve the rank of genin. She looked over at Ame, and smiled waving her hand at him, motioning for him to smile.

She entered the main class room again and walked up to Ookina. ”I have completed all the tasks you have asked of me.” She said with a big smile on her face. The teacher clapped his hands together and held them in front of his chest with a smile to match hers. It always made Ookina feel good to see a student train hard and move on to becoming a genin. He handed her a headband that had her home village’s symbol on the metal piece. She took it graciously and was overwhelmed with joy. She took the head band and wrapped it around her waist with, tying it snugly. She looked over at Ame excitedly, waiting in anticipation to see how he did. She had no doubt in her mind that he would now be a genin like her. Two brand new Genin’s from Hidden Rain.

Ame was glad that she had noticed him and remembered. They had spent quite a bit of time together when they were at the restaurant, and something like that wasn't easily forgotten, at least it wasn't for Ame, since he practically cherished the memories. They were all he had for comfort on the long nights he was alone in his quarters. He figured he would let Lin know that as soon as possible, but then again, he didn't quite know if he should or not. Ame wasn't exactly a pro at conversations, but he had a knack for being sociable. Many times during his clans social events, when important people had come to visit, Ame made a splash with the guests and they absolutely adored him. He figured he could attribute that to the deception and assassination training he received, allowing him to mold his personality to fit the needs of others. He didn't feel that way around Lin though, since she always seemed to make him show his true colors. It was a dangerous power for someone to have over you, but he figured he wouldn't mind if Lin had it, since he could trust her with it.

In fact, he had always found her quite curious and mysterious herself. She seemed to always be able to do new things with her origami paper, and there was always something Ame could learn when he came to see her. In fact, he had once witness her use the skills she possessed to create a scorpion just to give to Ame. He cherished the paper doll, and kept it hidden in his private quarters so he he could remember there was an outside world. Come to think of it. Lin was the only one he had met from the outside world, apart from the guests that showed up, but he knew they were about as fake as the armor and clothing they wore. Lin was the only true human being that had given Ame two cents in the world of the living, and recognized him as an individual and not just a thing. Ame could remember the long nights in which he trained with his instructors, continuously being beaten to a pulp and left to fend for his own wounds. Lin had been able to patch him up a few times, and she only ever showed concern for him. It was a new emotion that Ame had never seen before. It intrigued him more than anything, psychological wise.

He remembered the Clan leader coming to see him once. Of course, his clan family treated him nice then. That being said, the Clan leader had a nice long discussion with Ame, telling him exactly what he planned to do with Ame and what endless adventures were in store for him. Ame was about six when this happened. Adventure was a trigger word that sparked his imagination and got Ame thinking big thoughts. He found it stupid now, but he actually believed that the Clan leader cared for his well being. Such a thought was ridiculous and he could only help but to scoff at the idea. His clan didn't care for him, and he found out first hand when he stayed with his clan family. They always treated him as a 2nd class citizen in their house, and he was never allowed to leave the training area during the day and his private quarters during the night. Though, his instructors said that seeing the outside world was needed for his training, and that was when Ame was allowed to go out into the world for short period of time. Truthfully, he remembered the fact that he had stumbled upon Lin's family restaurant by accident, and for the next two years, he would go their every day on his passing periods. He went there only to see her. She was a beacon of hope in an otherwise dreary world. Ame sighed, and smiled at her, listening to her, until she was cut off by the Jounin.

Ame had to laugh at that one. She WOULD be cut off by the Jounin. Lin never had much luck when it came to that. She always seemed to be cut short by something when she tried to tell Ame something. In any case, Ame switched his attention to the Jounin before him. He stated briefly his excitement about their class and them becoming Genin. The word was a little demeaning, Ame thought. He decided he was above Genin level already, with the amount of extensive training he had undergone. The secret training he had undergone. That being said, Ame felt he should at least be able to attend the Chuunin exams instead, but he would wait since he had too. There was no need to rush things. He was with Lin after all. The sudden appearance of clones brought Ame back to reality. He was separated from Lin and the clone started to explain the Henge no Jutsu to him. Ame had no time to waste on such trivial things. He knew the jutsu already, and before the Jounin had even finished speaking, Ame pushed his hands together and a loud poof emitted from Ame's jutsu. As soon as the smoke cleared, the Jounin found himself staring into the eyes of Lin. Ame hoped she didn't mind him imitating her. It was worth it even if she did. The Jounin did a double take, looking from the real Lin to Ame. He canceled the jutsu and the Jounin fixed him with a wary stare. Ame could already tell that the Jounin hadn't expected him to perform the jutsu so quickly.

The Jounin huffed and crossed his arms, as he explained the next jutsu. It was another extremely simple technique that Ame had already learned. This only helped to reassure his feelings that he was above the Genin level. A deep sigh escaped his lips and the clone Jounin before him frowned, tapping Ame's head. "Pay attention if you want to learn this Jutsu. It's name is Bunshin n-" and that was all the further he got before he covered his eyes to protect him from the smoke. Ame didn't have to fully commit the hand signs, only using his one hand as the other was stuck in his pocket. Two clones appeared flanking Ame, and the Jounin quickly uncovered his face and peered angrily at Ame. His look soon turned to a distant sense of approval and wariness. Ame could already tell he wasn't excited about Ame's skill, but he slightly approved. Ame chuckled to himself and slowly pulled up his bandana. He had forgotten it was down, and he figured the Jounin had seen his eyes too long. He didn't want to share that with him anymore. He didn't need to see.

"The next jutsu is the art of substitution." the clone stated, and Ame listened to the rest. He was almost sure that the Jounin wasn't going to go easy on him, not now. He felt like he was back with his training instructors, learning to dodge attacks by using the substitution jutsu all over again. He had once used the jutsu to turn into a random rock in the large wooden hallways of the Clan house and trip random people. He had never had so much fun in his life, excluding his time at Lin's family's restaurant of course. Pushing those thoughts aside, the Jounin asked if Ame was ready and he nodded his head. There was no need for him to wait any longer. Ame gathered the chakra into his body and took a deep breath, thinking of the rock again. He was sure he pictured it perfectly and then opened his eyes to stare at the Jounin. He was already standing with his right arm cocked back, ready to strike. Ame smiled, and the Jounin let his fist fly. He noticed the speed and it was a little frightening. His fist was flying a little faster than the other clone's who were teaching the other Academy Students. It brought on a sense of sick accomplishment in Ame, thinking that he had gotten the better of his opponent. He was already in Ookina's head and messing around. Ame didn't know if that was saddening or hopeful. The fact still remained though, that Ookina's fist was flying rather fast at Ame's face. Ame quickly grunted and he disappeared, letting Ookina's fist fly over him as he turned into a rock. The Jounin looked a little disappointed, but Ame couldn't blame him. He had just been shown up twice by a kid. That had to be demoralizing. Ame turned back to his original form and beamed at his instructor, placing his hands on his hips. There was little he could teach him of this jutsu.

Ame could have sworn that the Jounin muttered something but he didn't feel like trying to find out what. He was sure that it wasn't a nice thing. Ame again, didn't blame him for such thoughts. Ookina motioned for him to follow to the outdoor training area, and he followed, looking over at Lin. She was looking to see where he was an awful lot. He couldn't figure out why. Was she afraid he was going to disappear, or was she afraid he was going to fail? Either way, Ame wouldn't deal with just barely passing. There were two reasons for that. One, he wanted to impress Lin. If he could impress Lin, than his day could become so much better. The second reason was that his Clan was awaiting a report for his performance, and if he didn't give a good report, than he was sure to get some sort of punishment. Ame didn't want to endure another punishment session. They never used normal pain measures, since they knew Ame could deal with pain. They did psychological things to break his will. Ame couldn't stand such things. He was scared to death of them, because every time they decided to do something like that, they would always almost break him. Ame didn't want to break, not to them.

His thoughts almost made him walk into the pool of water that lay outside. The jounin snickered and walked up beside him. He explained the process behind the training he was about to receive and what exactly he was supposed to do. Water walking and Tree Walking techniques. Ame understand a great deal of what these did to the Chakra flow and how they helped it. Ame was constantly drilled over such techniques when he was in his training compound. He often found it pointless, but he became quite good at it when he had nothing better to do. On his off time in his Clan's house, he would go to the training compound and practice all the techniques he had learned. Water Walking seemed harder than the Tree Walking Technique, so Ame was a little distraught over which one he should choose. On the other hand, if he got the harder one done and out of the way, then Ame could move on. He was sure he could at least get the Water one down with enough time, and that was all the mental psyche he needed to try it. Ame noticed that Lin went to see the Trees first. As was such. He felt she could accomplish anything she wanted to do, if she tried.

Ame switched his thoughts back to the water before him. How exactly was he going to do this. Ookina had described what to do, but that didn't exactly help since doing and saying are different things entirely. A brief sigh escaped Ame's lips and he moved to the edge of the pool. He would get a feel for it first. Ame extended his foot over the water and focused the chakra onto his feet, remembering that he had to anticipate the moving of water. He had to calm his feet and move it in a direction that would not interfere with the water's composition. "C'mon Ame.." he said to himself silently. He gently touched the water more and more, and finally, when he became confident, he put weight on his foot. Ame was fully expecting to sink, but much to his surprise, he was standing on the water. Now was the next foot. He effortlessly brought his other foot to evenly distribute his weight on both feet. Heh. It wasn't as hard as he thought. Ame looked back at Ookina who gawked at him. He could sense the anger at Ame's progression. Maybe his Clan's training wasn't all bad. He had definitely made an impression already. Of course, he WAS supposed to be the savior of Amegakure. To bring Amegakure back onto the map, that was his job. He found it to be too idealistic, so he never embraced the idea. No matter how fanatical he could become. He would much rather suffice with being a ninja that could help the people of Amegakure.

Ame spent a good amount of time on the water, making sure he felt cozy with the feeling of distributing his chakra flow onto both feet. Soon, he found himself running from end to end, jumping and hollering. It was fun being able to walk on water. Who would take advantage of that? Ame would. There was nothing better than doing a hard technique as if it were the simplest thing in the world. Ame stopped himself and grinned, a small sigh escaping his lips. Well. This one was down, now all he had to do was the Tree jutsu. That wasn't going to be hard since he mastered this one. So, Ame walked to the edge of the pool and stepped onto solid ground. His instructor had disappeared, probably tired of watching Ame fool around, and when Ame made his way to the Trees, he noticed that Lin was finishing up. A smile appeared on his face and he waved to her, motioning her a thumbs up. She was doing great! That made Ame happy. That being said, he still had yet to feel as if he impressed her, so Ame took up his position at the base of one of the trees and he focused his chakra.

When he felt as if he had done it, Ame took off in a dead sprint to the tree. He felt his body jolt as he met resistance when leaping onto the bark, and the gravity pull down on him. He made it halfway up the tree before he had to jump off in an elegant back flip to land on the ground. This wasn't as easy as he anticipated. That was okay. Ame would take his time on this one. He was performing all his jutsu with exceptional speed, and there was plenty of day left to finish this last one. So, Ame focused his chakra into the soles of his feet once more and took off in a dead sprint. He made it about a foot taller than last time. This was an amazing improvement, Ame felt. So, he continued, and after about a few feet of difference, Ame's skill shot up and he was able to run up the length of the tree. Practice makes perfect, apparently. Ame was excited at his accomplishment and relished the fact that he was sitting on a branch that was rather high up in the tree. A grin played off of his face and he jumped off, landing on the ground with a light crunch and made his way back into the academy. He followed Lin, who had just finished the water walking trick, and he grinned at her. She had passed too!

The both of them approached the instructor, and after Lin said she had finished the task assigned to them, Ame gave his consent as well, and agreed with her. He HAD done the tasks, and probably made the Jounin mad while doing it. It didn't matter, since Ame was good at defusing bad situations. He grinned over at Lin and accepted his headband. This piece of metal made Ame's mind roam once more. He didn't know whether or not to be proud or to be a little disturbed. The four lines that symbolized the rain village seemed depressing. Why does it always rain here? Is it truly that sad? Are we truly that sad? If I do one thing as a ninja...it would be to stop the rain. Like today. Today will be everyday. I swear it. If Hanzo wasn't able to do so in his rule, then I will. I will become the strongest ninja here, and I WILL stop the rain. I promise you Amegakure...I promise you... Ame thought fervently and sighed to himself. He lazily grabbed the headband, obviously displeased and removed his black bandana, letting the cloth fall to the ground.

Ame's dark blue eyes started at the headband for a while and he didn't quite know what he wanted to see when he took off his bandana. Was he expecting something new? Was he expecting some sign of hope? Of course not. Ame's brow furrowed and he lifted the Headband to his eyes, tying to to block his vision once more. He decided that he wouldn't set his eyes upon the city of Amegakure until he had accomplished his goal and brought permanent sun to his village. That was his goal, and he would achieve it no matter what. Ame's dark mood didn't last since he turned to Lin's direction and beamed,. "You Look good with that on, Lin." he teased lightly and placed his hands on his hips, chuckling. He wanted to take of his headband and set his eyes upon his friend, but he wouldn't do that now. He wouldn't do that for a long, long time. He would just have to deal with hearing her voice, and feeling her hands. That was good enough. Ame then moved to the doorway and turned back to Lin, motioning her to follow. It was about time they returned to their village and look for a squad.

She was happy to see that Ame had as much success as she did in the academy. While she wasn't busy performing the jutsus herself, she would glance over to see how he was doing. She figured, do to his life style that he would be more than ready for the tasks that would be asked of him. But he was basically a star. He exceeded any expectation she had of him. His talent was quite impressive. It was obvious that his potential was limitless. She watched as he put on his new headband, one that was given to each student who passed the trials of the ninja academy. It was nice to see another person wearing a headband that matched hers. They were the future of Amegakure. She had her own dreams and aspirations, but she didn't know what Ame had planned for his future. She would be sure to ask him and find out.

Lin's face turned a light pink as he complimented her. He was only talking about the headband but still, she couldn't control the reaction. She wishes she could so that he wouldn't see, but luckily for her he took care of that himself. He covered his deep blue eyes once more, using his new ninja headband. It appears he would be traveling without his eye sight. At least for the time being. It must be extremely difficult to travel in such a manner. But in doing so even traveling has some training involved.

She stood still as she watched him walk away. She wasn't quite sure if he wanted to travel with her. She already knew what her first stop would be. She would be heading home to pick up a few things she will need, say her goodbyes, and hopefully gain some sort of experience about what it means to be a shinobi along the way. Her heart nearly skipped a beat as he stopped, and motioned for her to follow. She was so happy that he wanted to walk with her. Gosh, she felt like a dork feeling the way she did. She quickly rushed to his side and walked next to him. All she could think about was how she hoped he would travel with her. It would be nice to not be alone on such a journey. Having a friend with her would be great. Especially since that friend was Ame.

"Ame, I think that we should travel together. Be partners, help each other train, and represent Amegakure the right way." She said with a smile, staring down at the ground. Finally she was able to talk without being interrupted, every time she wanted to say something to him she would be interrupted by someone. Whether it was her parents barking orders at her telling her to get back to work, a customer, or a husky jounin. Lin wasn't taking no for an answer, before Ame would have the chance to respond, she grabbed his hand, grasping it tightly and began to ran. "You are coming with me! Let's go to Amegakure, then we can start our adventure." Today was the start of the future, and it looked bright. She thought to herself as she looked back at Ame's face.

Hiro walked into the academy ecstatic that he has the chance to become a master shinobi, through focus and hard work. He ran his fingers through his black, silky hair as a large smile appeared on the boy's face. His footsteps echoed through the room.

Hiro did not know any jutsu but he knew how to use the basic Sharingan. It was a valuable asset and being that he is a defensive and tactical fighter, the sharingan's abilities helped support this fighting style greatly.

He wanted to focus more on his kenjutsu then anything else. The Master of Kenjutsu. That was his goal. A long way from his goal, but enough training and the right attitude can allow anyone to live their dream.

He did not see a single soul in the room but most likely people will arrive. He unsheathed his katana and gripped the handle tightly. He swung left quickly. Then he performed a diagonal swipe, then promptly swung in a downward motion. He flipped the katana and thrusted the katana behind him as it passed his side. He flipped the katana and held it upright as he returned the blade to it's sheath.

The young man stood at the door's of the Konoha Ninja Academy. His hands were in his pockets, his specially designed kunai and shuriken belt was dangling near his feet. Kale Kazeban was not your ordinary boy. He was born with a mark on his face known as the Wolf Mark of the Broken Nomad's Clan. The Wolf Mark made his eyes yellow and gave him perfect low-light vision as well as some natural reflexes. For years and generations his family would travel by nomad's but a recent decree forced him to train at Konoha. He was only 16 with very little experience with these weapons let alone jutsu's. His family never fought against ninjas before. He took his first step to the back of the academy where other students were training.

He thought to himself, 'What is the point of all of this?' He grabbed a shuriken from his belt and gave it a toss at a wooden target hanging from a tree. He completely missed. He swiftly threw the next Kunai but didn't give it enough. It only flew about fifteen feet in front of him, maybe seven feet away from the target till it plopped on the ground. He fell on his behind and sighed loudly. "I'll never get better like this..."

He quickly stood up and grabbed another Kunai. He swiped it across his forearms that were scarred and bruised. That was the way the Howling Wolf Mark worked for him, the scent of blood. He lightly sliced open his forearm, blood trickling in almost an instant. His eyes squinted in a minute from the pain but he had grown used to it. He dabbed the edge and approached the dummy. He ran towards where he threw the first Shuriken originally. This time though, he turned around.

He gave a few sniffs for the scent of his blood. He closed his eyes and guided himself only with the scent. He quickly twirled and with the flick of his wrist he threw the shuriken almost perfectly. He didn't open until he heard the ding. He opened and saw the Kunai split into the dummy with the shurken kissing it's blade with the Kunai's. He gave a smirk and said aloud, "Easy."

Yuki approached the shinobi academy. She wasn't quite sure why she had to go through such silly trials to prove her worth. She has trained long and hard for quite some time now, and has shown she is more than capable of performing such tasks required to achieve the rank of Genin. In her eyes she was already there, maybe even past the title. And when she said in her eyes, she meant it. She was a proud clan member of the Uchiha. Cunning, intelligent, strong willed, and creative. That was how she approached being a shinobi. The techniques the academy asked her to perform would be simple tasks. But nevertheless she had to do what she had to do.

Yuki walked up to the door, pushing it open, stepping in to the academy. As much as she didn't want to be here, she appreciated the beauty of the building, and traditions it followed. It was at the very least respectable. But her constant need to be on the move, and be having fun would motivate her to get out of here as soon as possible. She walked down the hall, her head high, each hand slipped in to her dark black hoodie's pockets, her thumbs wriggling around in her pockets as she gently rubbed the tips of her fingers across her thumb. If one was to gaze upon her, they would be able to sense the confidence she exuded. She has been told by others she seems intimidating, not in a dangerous way, but in a way that she won't fall for cheesy lines. Won't dabble in a useless conversation, and seem rather uninviting. Which when she was told this, she had to somewhat agree. She could seem, for lack of a better word, bitchy at times. But it was just the way she was sometimes. She never had many friends as a child, do to the way she acted, which was fine by her. She only needed herself, and her training. She just wanted respect from others, do to her talents. Not their affection.

Once she had traveled down the hallway passing multiple doors, she slipped her hand out of her hoodie pocket, and placed her hand on the door knob turning it open, and entering the room. Once she entered the room she scanned it quickly, noticing the emptiness of it all. No desks, no chairs, there wasn’t even another student. Just her and an instructor. It appeared she would be training one on one with a personal tutor. That was great, since that would help to speed the process along. She strolled to the center of the room, her hands in their usual place, her hoodie pockets. She smiled before she spoke. ”Hello, my name is Yuki. I am here for my training, and to prove that I am ready to become a Genin. I hope you aren’t too busy to help me out with that.” The smile turned to a slight smirk as she noted was referring to the fact that the teacher was doing nothing but waiting for someone to arrive. The teacher let out a quick exhale laugh and folded his arms. He looked her up and down, trying to read the person he was about to help achieve the rank of genin. He could see her potential and overall attitude just by her stance. He assumed this would be over quickly.

He would start right away, looking her in the eyes while he unfolded his arms and showed her the motions for the jutsu. It was a simple one motion hand seal to perform the jutsu. He began to explain how she would need to use her chakra, and evenly balance it. But before he had the chance to finish his explanation she made the hand motions, and transformed right in front of his eyes in to a his mirror image. Once she changed back in to her normal form that is when he noticed her eyes. The sharingan. He was right to assume that these tests wouldn’t take long. If she was talented enough to perform the jutsu’s she could easily follow the hand seals and make it possible. The teacher just grinned and went through with the next challenge. Maybe this one would prove a bit more challenging. It would be the substitution jutsu. He explained what would happen and what she would need to do. Once she was ready, he through a straight punch at her stomach, holding back his strength, just in case he actually hit her. Once the contact was made, her body vanished from her spot as she stood behind him, all that remained in front of him was a log that he so graciously placed out before the start of the test. It was simple enough, and done elegantly. The teacher wasted no time, which pleased Yuki greatly. He moved on to the next technique. Bunshin No Jutsu. He showed her the hand seal, and waited for her to respond. She nodded her head and did the hand motions, and with a poof, an identical clone of Yuki stood beside her. The teacher gave her a thumbs up, and once he did, she dismissed the clone awaiting further instruction. The next two tasks her teacher wanted her to perfrom was walking on water, and having the ability to walk up a wall. If she would be able to perform the last two tasks, she would be able to graduate the class, and achieve the rank of genin.

Yuki grinned at the challenge. She had been training, knowing this was one of the tests she would have to endure to become genin. She had already begun working on chakra control, and trained hard in her room to be able to walk up her wall. The smaller room made it challenging, because once she was at the top, she would have to either switch her position to be on the ceiling, or be able to stand on the wall holding herself there. She slowly turned her back to her teacher, her hair whipping as she did and walked to the wall. She placed her leg forward and walked up the wall, slowly her head turning as she did to see her teachers reaction. He was rather happy she was able to pull off the technique. Once Yuki reached the ceiling she stepped on to it, and then let herself drop, flipping in midair landing on the ground gracefully. The last technique would be to walk on water. He motioned her to follow, which she willingly did, and walked behind him as he led her to the room where the body of water was, so she could do the last test needed. She wasted no time and walked up to the body of water, concentrating her chakra to her feet. She stepped on to the body of water balancing on one foot. This one was more difficult than the last, but she was able to stay afloat. She placed her other foot down, before beginning to walk around the water’s surface before returning to dry land. She stepped off the water, and looked at her teacher. He grinned and bowed his head congratulating her on her passing of the academy. He handed her a headband, with the hidden leaf symbol on it, as an item to be worn proudly. She grabbed the headband, happily, and graciously, which surprised her teacher somewhat. She then tied the head band around left thigh, mid-way from her hip to her knee. She slipped her hands back in to her pockets and once she was told she was free to leave, she wasted no time, and exited the room. ”Thanks for the help.” She said as she removed her hand from her pocket, holding it up as she walked out of the room, her hand would be the last thing he could see of her as she walked down the hall and exited the academy.

Jutsu Learned: [N] Henge no Jutsu: 300 Skill Points This technique allows the ninja to transform themselves into any person or object. This allows the ninja to move with stealth or to trick their opponents.

[N] Bushin no Jutsu: 300 Skill Points This technique creates a copy of the ninja without substance. The copy resembles the ninja in every way. This clone can function as a distraction or as means to confuse one's opponent. As soon the clone gets attacked or comes into contact with an opponent, it will disperse.

[N] Art of Substitution: 400 Skill Points This is a basic Ninjutsu technique. When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. This allows the ninja to quickly flee and hide while the original object takes the brunt of their opponents attack.

[T] Tree Climbing: 600 Skill Points The Tree Climbing technique serves a dual purpose. The first is that it helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. The second is that it teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. The amount needed to climb is small but it must be precise.

[T] Water Walking: 600 Skill Points A variation on the Tree Climbing Technique, Water Walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.

“This sucks so bad!”
The young woman dragged herself down the hall from her last class before her break at the shinobi academy. Four years of avoiding enrollment and now she had finally been admitted by her mother for the sake of her family’s name. She had been learning everything quite quickly since she had been there but it was the worst having to be in the same class as twelve and thirteen year olds. She grumbled to herself as she walked past the rooms looking at the instructors inside, some of who looked younger than she did.

Walking outside she was always impressed with how happy everyone looked all of the time here. It was like these kids actually wanted to be here. As far as she cared though she only needed one jutsu, learning others would be a waste of time. Not like she didn’t want to learn other jutsu, because she did. But she had always just enjoyed the use of taijutsu and kenjutsu, stuff that didn’t need hand signals. She checked the bag she carried with her, inside was her set of small swords and a change of clothes, she wanted to go for a walk but didn’t really want to go on her own. “C’mon this is brutal, I need to make some friends seriously….” Holding her head she returned to the academy halls and looked in on one of the classes. The instructor was teaching the Students the basics of the Substitution Jutsu. The instructor moved his hands slowly so the students could follow the hand signals. She bobbed her head in rhythm with the hand signals. Memorizing them so she would remember them for her own use later, at least she would remember. Speaking them aloud very quietly as she followed along watching from the hall. “Ram... Boar... Ox... Dog… Snake…” following along with her hands. She closed her eyes and kept bobbing her eyes. “Hm..hm…hm…hm…hm” She hummed to herself the rhythm and spoke the words in her mind. Walking away she grinned as she remembered the technique and couldn’t wait to use it.

She refused to learn while she was in class because she constantly felt belittled, something she was a fan of doing herself. But learning just by watching wasn’t too bad of a deal, she had began to think that she may have already been taught this technique before but couldn’t really remember. She looked for a chance to use it. Not wanting to seem like a loser for wanting to test out such a basic jutsu on some children, the fact that she was an incredibly undisciplined ninja didn’t really mean anything to her. She continued to keep her pride and arrogance intact, there was so many skilled ninja coming through here who learned so many jutsu before they even walked through the door in some cases these ninja were equal to even Chunin level ninja entering the Academy. This was something she didn’t really enjoy watching happen. Considering the level of ninja she thought she was. Passing outside doing the substitution jutsu hand signals on the way down the hall with her head down she suddenly popped over the side of the hall. “AHHH!?” Falling down onto her butt her eyes cracked open quickly and she looked around. There was a boy in the middle of the hallway standing in front of a garbage can that had been where she was standing now. “Hm… well look at that… it works.” She smirked that the jutsu she had been practicing worked. Its not as if she had dodged shurikens or an attack but bumping into someone was just as good. “Watch where you’re going kid, don’t you know this hallway belongs to other people sheesh.” Brushing her hair out of her face Inari didn’t want to hear what the kid had to say as turned her back with a “Hmph” and began back down the hall.

Her mind was racing ‘that was awesome! I just used a jutsu that I saw someone showing students. I think I just learned a jutsu! It’s no Hidden Mist but cmon! I wish mom could see me now!” Her pride was visible with a huge smile on her face and a look that couldn’t be mistaken for anything except pride. The grin and great feeling of actually accomplishing something except drawing out plans for the Super Ultimate Inari Amarante Jutsu and brushing up on her Taijutsu actually was a good feeling. This feeling made her want to actually go to classes and learn more jutsu, however. To a mind like Inari’s she had thought that there was more than just these silly academy jutsu’s. She had now wanted to go out and learn other jutsu, but complicated jutsu, she just wanted to become a great ninja like her father. Well so she had heard from her mother and other mist ninja. Not that she had ever met him though. So it was her next goal to return to the Mist and visit her mother before setting out again for good this time. She had planned to go and meet new people, see the world, and expand her mind on her own, the way she had always wanted.

Before she left to return to the Mist however she decided that she would meet with her sparring partner, a Genin who was about the same age as her and a decent sparing partner against her unorthodox Taijutsu, they had always lifted weights and worked out together the few short weeks she had actually been at the Academy. He was the closest thing to a friend that she had met and she hardly knew his name. In order for her to connect with someone and have someone in her life she would need to actually spend time with them outside the Academy.

Opening Theme - Little Ben!

"Look at you. All you do is flutter about and operate at your leisure. You eat and move, I can't even tell if you sleep. Still, you have no apparent use. All you can offer is your worthless shell to the grander scheme."

A solitary finger was held up, allowing a tiny kikaichū to land on and fly around the appendage in a spiral flight pattern. Mantus, the young academy student who owned this tiny insect, watched about in a silent, passive allure. The Aburame clan-child was of fourteen years age, but with the intense lines of his facial features, he might of appeared to be older to some. Mantus spoke faintly, loud enough only for the kikaichū to hear, so he hoped. The Aburame's stare didn't leave the insect, not even to glance at his surroundings. A few yards away, the other ninja students were practicing and sparring with each other around the academy grounds. The secluded bug ninja ignored the sounds of laughter and conversation and continued to murmur to his minuscule companion. "We aren't so different, are we?" Mantus glazed eyes finally came to life and he looked up at the students nearby. His eyes shifted down to the kikaichū and he ordered the bug to the safety of his attire. "Let's change that, then." The ninja-in-training stood and brushed himself off. After a moment of surveying the field, Mantus emerged from the shade of the sycamore he had been sitting under. Walking into the sun, Mantus' eyes squinted lightly under the change of light.

"Let's see if I can perfect this thing. First, this jutsu..." The teen made sure he had enough room before he proceeded. Next, he was to select a target to transform into. A tan girl with stunning, long hair entered into Mantus' field of vision. The male noted her features, then began to weave handsigns. He didn't care if she noticed the transformation or even cared about the results. Mantus simply needed a subject, so she would have to suffice. Dog, Boar, Ram! The names of each sign ran through his head with each motion. Finally, he held the Ram handsign firmly and called out the technique aloud. "Transform!" A puff of smoke unfurled from Mantus' body, covering him in it's thick mass for a couple seconds before dissipating. What was revealed was... Less than adequate. His features, while definitely feminine, did not reflect that of the individual he was trying to become. A moment later, the transformation disappeared, and Mantus gave a nervous look around. Mantus told himself that he cared not if others watched, yet... He felt a certain sense of embarrassment. He abandoned his sheepish thoughts and tried once more. Dog, Boar, Ram!

Mantus was considerably adept with chakra control for his age, but implementing it into shinobi techniques had always been hard for him. The young man found himself trying time and time again to perfectly pull off the three techniques of ninjutsu, but nothing clicked. His determination was usually short-lived, and he found himself giving up when his frustration overwhelmed him. Today would be different, Mantus kept telling himself that. Well today, he'd prove it to himself. "Transform!" Just as the last seven tries, Mantus clasped his hands together in the Ram seal and voiced his ninjutsu for all to hear. The explosion of smoke followed, and although it dispersed just as before, the subject that remained was quite different from the others. With her hands clasped together and emerald eyes shut tight, Mantus stood in the same position as he had just been, but now in the form of the tan, long-haired woman who stood nearby. Mantus opened his eyes and stood up fully, surveying himself and making sure everything was correct. "It was a success, then? Marvelous." The transformation went completely unhitched! Mantus did not feel anything had changed from his other attempts, but perhaps that was what learning ninjutsu was about: Constant tests, trial and error, it all made sense. A smile spread from ear to ear on Mantus' transformed self, then the jutsu wore off and the young man looked just as he had before. "Good. Once more." The young man wanted to be sure he had the technique understood before he moved on. Choosing different subjects was not hard, but perfecting their shape and facial features proved even more difficult. Time and time again, Mantus failed and retried, eventually coming to the point where numerous tries weren't necessary. Mantus had finally done it. "This is..." A smile crept on his face, but then Mantus took a look around. Some were glancing at him. They could see his excitement over such a small accomplishment. That... wasn't good. "Ahem... Next jutsu..." Mantus straightened his attire and prepared to learn the next technique.
