Kohaku took a drink of the soda and nodded. When you have a brother that reads books by the dozens, you can't help but take a few books to read. Though, she definitely couldn't be compared to all that he had read. She was more of a piano person... She loved to listen to it, play it, and even compose music to it. But her favorite book that she had ever read was The Silver Kiss. Even though it was a short book, it was a beautiful one... Everytime she read it, she cried at the end. She thought about the ending of the book and sighed softly.

Al sighed,resisting the urge to take another sip from his drink. He felt more obliged to get this out than to satisy his thirst at the moment. He wished sh had witen something down ofr him to reply to but it was obvious she wasn't about to pick up a pencil.
"I'm not much a of a literary person myself really,stupid of me to bring it up but it was something I wanted to know I guess."
He turned away from her again to stare across the room at the blank wall, tracing patterns into it with his eyes like one would with clouds. He hadn't meant to blurt out his next sentence it had sorta just spat itself out in his lapse of self contol.
"you smell delightfull."

Kohaku blushed at his last comment. She definitely wasn't expecting that. Though, she didn't think it was stupid of him to bring literacy up.. After all, he was just trying to start a conversation... She took out her notepad again and wrote something down quickly then handed it to him. It said My favorite book is The Silver Kiss... It's a really good book. You should read it sometime. The book was about a girl named Zoe whos life was falling apart. Her mother had cancer, her dad was never home, and her only friend was moving away. Then, by chance, she met a strange guy in a park.. But he wasn't just a guy, he was a vampire with his own problems... Because he had been hunting down his vicious brother for hundreds of years, trying to kill him... The ending was a bitter sweet one, but alltogether beautiful. She had read it 5 times already... And each time she couldn't help but cry at the end.

Al turned back to her, reading the note with intrigue.
"I'll make a note of it. " He nodded, although he was more of an artist than anything. He'd gone to a school for ithe arts before he was condemmed to this 'curse' as people called it.
"I draw more than read. It's a hobby of mine really.mind?"
He didn't wait for a reply but instead grabbed her penceil swiftly and sketched a picture of a church on a napkin, his hand going so fast it was a blur.
"finished"
he said grinning and handing the napkin to her. It depicted the scene of a classic church hidden amongst a variety of shrubs, an obvious susnet in the distance. It practically looked like the wind blowing the trees would actually come out and blow around the room.

Kohaku looked at it and became amazed. She couldn't believe he had done that in such a short time. It kinda reminded her of her mother... She had always loved to draw. Kohaku smiled and clapped. She was definitely gonna keep this napkin. She then heard a crackling of thunder comming from outside. Loud enough that it made her jump. Rain didn't bother her very much, but for some reason, thunder and lightning scared her to death. It was like a phobia, and she didn't know why it was so frightening to her... She just hoped the power wouldn't go out... She was even more afraid of the darkness... Bad things always seemed to happen to her when everything went dark.

Al's eye flashed quickly to glance at the oustide, a misted rain was started to come down gently, it would soon start to downpour though, the thunder was making sure to let everyone know that. who knew he might be stuck in here for longer than expected.
he noticed her jump.
"Are you okay? Don't tell me you're happy to let someone freely wander around your head but a little thunder and bam. You're outta here?"
He hid his laugh in a cough.
He too in her scent again, he had admittedi he enjoyed it so why hide it now right?
He nuzzled in closer to her taking it in,carefull not to get to close or linger to long however in case his primitive lusts got the better of him.

Kohaku nodded and frowned. She didn't know why she feared thunderstorms so much, but it always seemed to strike a nerve in her... Like some kind of long-buried little secret that seemed to unearth itself. She didn't mind someone else in her head.. It made her feel not alone.. And somehow safer... Thunder and lightning was just the opposite. She felt a cold shiver go up her back again. It seemed like the rain was getting harder and the thunder and lightning more frequent... Closer even.. She noticed him inching closer, but didn't mind that so much.. It made her feel safer, knowing that there was someone close by if the lights went out...

Al fisnished off his drink, his eyeys stretching to the other side of the room to look out the window which the rain could now easily be seen. although it still wasn't pouring down he was happy he had an alternate way to get home other than walking.
a gust blew from under the door and chilled the temperature of the room slightly.
He leant in close to her now, nuzzling around her neck. It made him wonder if he could get away with just taking a little part of her bodily fluids. He whispered lightly to her.
"So what exactly are you?"

The question made Kohaku's eyes widen. In truth, she wasn't exactly sure what she was... She'd always ask her mother, and somehow she'd sidestep the question.. Then she thought she was adopted.. But her mother told her time and time again that she wasn't. Though, the only thing they had in common was their hair color.. But.. It's easy to tell when her mother is lying.. She'd always seem nervous or her hand would twitch a little.. And it never did when she said that she wasn't adopted... So, how was it possible? She felt a little pathetic for not knowing what she was... Like a child.. She sighed and scribbled something on the notepad and handed it to him. It said .. I don't know.... She then noticed that it had gotten colder.. She shivered slightly and stared out the window..

His eyes skimmed the note quickly,moving his head from her neck to get a better angle.
"You are a mysterious being aren't you?"
he whispered it,runnig his finger down her face,to be scepcific her cheekbone to her way.His skin was as per the norm of vampires cold and his eyebrows knitted together into an expression of pure frustration.
Not at her of course but because he was finding more reasons to be friends with her than eat or or take her home to be used as a bloodletter. doing so would eventually end him up in trouble both with his own mind, thoughts,personality and the elders of his clan.
He sighed and sat back down,all the while the thunder in the background became and flashes of lightning further off were begginning to mingle in as well,casting flashes of blue-ish light over the room every now and then.

Kohaku tried her best to ignore the fact that the storm got worse by the minute. She tried to think of other things to say to him... She took another drink of her soda and grabbed her notepad again, writing something quickly and handing it to him. The note said And what are you? She knew he wasn't human. The wings kinda gave that away. She looked out the window for a second and frowned again. She wondered if her brothers had noticed she was missing. Moreso, if they had called mother and told them she was missing. Just then, lightning seemed to strike right next to, or very close to, the window. And as the brilliant flash disappeared, so did the lights. She wanted to scream at that very moment... Because she knew that her nightmares always had a habit of visiting her when everything was pitch black...

Al smiled at her wryly,half surprised she hadn't already guessed and for a minute he even though she might be joking. then again it would explain why she had let him get so close to her. His expression went serious for a moment,pondering now if he should tell her. Considering it had now gone dark and she seemed to be more afraid. He frowned now,his ever changing eye color going to a deep golden color,like a topaz. his pupils however didn't dilate as most others might. He peered up at her and sighed,only half giving in.
"would it scare you to know?"
He was half tempted to muster up the widest grin he had and let his fang's slither down just over his lip. In the darkness they were in, his near perfectly white teeth would probbably glow and expose him more than any words could. But the temptation that would probabbly follow would be for him to pin her down on the table and put the natural weapons into use.

Kohaku looked at him, trying to keep her eyes away from the dark corners of the room and, for now, the window... The question he asked made her wonder. She doubted that she would be scared after all she had seen in her short life. Unless this all turned out to be a bad nightmare and he suddenly changed into that man... That frightening man who always seemed to get a kick out of making her cry. He frightened her more than darkness, lighting, and thunder ever could... Though she supposed it was because of him that she feared all these things... Slowly, she shook her head no.

"No?"
He replied,repeating her gesture in words.
He tried to picture her reaction,all he could come up with was that she would remain calm and if at all a little more nervous. It wasn't like she was expecting a human or angel now was she? not unless she was stupider than he thought.He sighed again.
"I'm guessing you've guessed by now I'm not human right?"
He chuckled,he was buying time he hadn't told anyone he was actually going to let live for a couple of centires.
"Vampire to be truthfull. The horns are more like a disguise. It's much easier to get someone closer to you if they feel it's less likely you'll hypnotise them and suck them dry."
he chuckled again, it was a true statement although he'd grown quiet attached to the familiar weight on his head it alsmot seemed natural.

Kohaku was only a little suprised... What he said made her more sad than anything.. She wondered if his only real reason for talking with her and putting up with her silence was because he saw her as a food source... Probably so.. But why hadn't he gotten it over with already? He had plenty of opportunities. She sighed and stared at her hands that were folded in her lap. She didn't really feel like dying tonight, but maybe she deserved it for being dumb enough to trust someone she met in the late hours of the night.
