DarkElf27 bjs.09-00 Asmondai Aaaaa.... surprised So that´s why the marines shout "the heat of a 1k sun shall destroy you!" in Chaos Gate. ^^"
Wait... that actually meants marines get "cooked" inside their armour.... >.>" O.O Tyranids were here, this sounds delicious! But I figure, that the marines/techmarines consider explosions from plasma weapons as "the machine spirit was not pleased with that particular user!" Surely they arent common enough to dissuade this idea? having trouble getting my own fluff myself. Bolter and Chainsword basically pointed me to read all the books about the marines I can. For that matter, I don't think I've ever read about a plasma gun actually overheating in a book. Points to page 99 in space marine codex. mrgreen If you mean novels then I can´t say anything about since I haven´t found a book yet that has plasma weapons for some odd reason. <.< Quess I read wrong ones... ^^"
In anyways, it´s quite common thing that plasma-based weapons suffers overheading when used too long in many Scifi stories, so it´s only naturally assumed that 40k wouldn´t be an exception to this. :pLady Blodwynn Lasguns overheat in the books before plasma guns will. scream Really? Only think I read from books is that they have power-settings to increase the weapons fire power but drains energy from it´s "magazine". It´s abit epic to read a guardsmen taking a headshot at the chaos space marine with a lasgun. xD

Aye, she's right. In the novels there have been many moments where a guardsman fires so many times that the weapon overheats. Only plasma malfunction I can recall is that of an Executioner tank in Honour Guard.

I do remember an incident in the grey knights novels where an inquisitor had to wait for his plasma pistol to cool down between shots.I guess they might only overheat if the cooldown time is ignored. Also I read somwhere that when a plasma gun overheats it vents it's core(?) and that is what kills the wielder.

What happens is that, if it overheats, the vent hatches on the weapon pop open to vent excess heat and gas away from the barrel to prevent a cataclysmic overheat/explosion.

It can be viewed either way: roll a one and it can either overheat or explode. Remember, if you pass an armour save all is well.

Indicating it doesn't explode as you get to keep it if you pass the save.

Quick question, Brothers/Sisters: How would you paint a quarterly scheme? both are very black colours, necron abyss and dark angels green. The necron abyss is Foundation paint, the Dark angels is normal Citadel. I heard that foundation paints are "thicker" , thus requiring less coats/more thinning. This is my issue: should I basecoat the whole mini with one colour, then paint on the other half? or do them in generally the same time? Ho-s**t-page-stretch. Please condense your links.

Kaori Kapoigne Paint the whole model in foundation first, then bring in the other colour. 3nodding Thank you Kaori! cool gonna make sure it's thin enough to not muck up, but thick enough to still have colour after applying the second, normal paint. I will post the finished marines in the painting thread in the painting and converting subforum.

DarkElf27 Cagalli Yura Attha Do not think that we worship the Emperor as much as those Ultramarine fools. No, we Blood Angels shall not forget that he idly allowed for Sanguinius to perish before he made his move. Though we protect him... we sometimes wonder what would happen if we did not. Ha! needs hardly wondering. he would sit in his wired throne and say to himself: oh s**t......LOL epix!
