I'm not depressed. I'm the same as always. I'm still not an Avenger, I'm contractually obligated to listen to a TV producer when I go out to do my job, and the girl I dig more than anything else doesn't know how much I ache for her. That's my normal life.

How can she not know? I went back in time to freakin' Krypton, found a famous sculptor, and got him to crave a diorama out of a rare crystal. I didn't even set foot in Atlantis when I was dating Nita. She's gotta know!

I know it's something of a stretch that somebody could be that old fashioned, but they're out there, believe me. Somebody like that wouldn't know a thing until you told them to their face.
