Not many people will dedicate the time to making a character bible for their character.

I have to admit when I first read there were Gelatinous Cubes at the petting zoo I was like, what the ******** Sey!

Then I noticed they were multi-colored and cuddly, and was reminded of the tame gelatinous cube I had as an NPC in a campaign I DM'd. They taught it to eat apples and go up and down the alleys collecting garbage, then spitting out the waste outside of town. They thought that was all fine and dandy until I told them that there were also little skeletons in the thing from it sucking up stray cats and dogs.

Oh man, fun times.

Gelatinous Cube mounts, too, those are badass. Moreso when its a fun and loving cube that can suck you up and carry you around without melting you to death.

A character bible is basically like the profiles we make, only it's moreso a private version for the roleplayer's own use rather than other's, unless you want to outright give people it (which would mean it will take probably their own website with links to different sections about their life). The main point of one is to allow you to go more indepth about your character, so you can reference back to it whenever you roleplay. It will also make it easier to come up with new plots for your character since you have a feeling where they want to go. Think of a character having their own wiki page, basically.

It's used in film, novel writing, and video games. It's optional, but it'll make your character more of a rich experience. You can also have a better time finding cliches and stereotypes so you can tweak them.
