the guild seems to be intact, but this squad at least has had two resets in the last week. I get the feeling the woman in charge of the area (the captain) is still trying to find what works best for her.

*shrugs* I just hope I am not wasting my time. Still, it is fun to play for now. As the old Bleach guild died from red tape, this is my next option to revive the character.

You've been in Gotei Elite for a while, though, haven't you? Or, am I confusing this guild for your previous one?

The names are similar, the Gotei Elite is the new guild, while Bleach Elites is the old one. I did not seek out the guilds for the name, despite the evidence to the contrary. It was a variety of factors . . . in this most recent case, the lack of cannon characters and the apparent depth of detail.

Ah, that's whay I got them mixed up. I assume you sought both of them out for being in the Bleach universe, right?

That is basically what drew my attention. I still enjoy the thought of playing the character I did for two years, and that was a good opportunity.
Just found my information on the commencement ceremony. Now to find a way to pay for it in a hurry.

Yeah, that makes sense.
Ah, good luck w/ all of that. I hope you enjoy marching for what you have earned through a lot of hard work.

so the trip and the stay are paid for . . . now to get the cap n gown, and to show up. Looking into free/cheap business cards to pass out ad nauseum. "Hi! Have a card!" mrgreen

Very nice. It seems like everything will work out marvelously. Yeah, business cards aren't a bad investment now that you have an advanced degree.

The wife found a set on Facebook that are 250 for 'free' . . . but when I went to the site, I found some that are more "me" for like 10 dollars. I can spare me some ten dollars for cards I find suit my tastes. ninja
I just hope that this degree pays off. In America today, degrees are not worth much, and I really am worried about the $115,000+ of student loans I am already in without even starting my doctoral program.

$10 isn't bad at all. I've seen them cost way more, though I suppose it depends on the card stock.
I have that same worry, friend. It's becoming so easy to get a degree that it is as you say, it means little. Naturally there are advanced degrees, but they are very costly when one's job prospects don't improve much w/ it (as in my field, computer science)..

Computer science, ne? Computer programming was my first major in college, believe it or not. I couldn't hack it. Today we had a conversation (wife and I) about why I really am going for the doctorate. It's for personal reasons, not for monetary . . . I want that title. I want that name.
Hopefully that vanity won't beat me into the ground financially.

Oh, really? That's interesting.
I can't blame you. When you know you're intelligent and dedicated enough to earn that degree, you can't help but want to go for it. Goodness knows that's why I'm going for a masters and adoctorate eventually as well.

Mostly, it is because I hate my birthname so completely. I go by my middle name, I want that title not only as celebration of my intelligence, but also so people will have to call me Doctor. they would have to call me something I earned, and made mine because of my mind and effort. Doctor is a name you freakin earn. When it is mine, its something I will relish in saying "call me Doctor." The hardest part will be saying that without a British accent a la Doctor Who . . .
Doctor Snowman?! Hehehehe, I would so enjoy that.
