-Following behind him he continued to speak.-

I shall not let you down, captain! I am greatful for all that you've done for me, espeacially helping out the family members that are staying with me. They shall soon be leaving, they have decided to make this new port their home.

I am determined to do my best! You shall see that I am a very talented man! Usually I spend most of my downtime inventing things and perfecting my shipwrighting skills. As a matter of fact, I would be honored if you saw some of my latest inventions!

((No need to be caught up, Miss Koichi. Just start off as if you've been away on shore leave. We heave anchor in a days time.))

*Awaiting Quasan's return, Captain Kurisutofa remembered that Baxter had attempted to address him over the matter of Casualties, Weaponery & Stowaways whilst he had been dressing.

Descending down the steps, he came upon the doctor, Reginald Baxter. Trying to catch him before the good doctor rushed off to his next patient or case of business, Kurisutofa cleared his throat so as to announce his presence.*

"Doctor, I'd like to thank you for your kind services and dedication during the transfer of the company's dead and wounded. It takes a man of steady mind and stomach to endure such things. Now that all of that is taken care of and the wounded have been transfered to the 'Rescue', you may have time to rest and make time for yourself. Infact, I am giving you the next 12 hours to go ashore and procure what items you may need or want in the future. Salvage all you can. If you need any help, I want you to take our newest recruit ashore with you. She will be willing to assist in your hunt.

Speaking of stowaways, I will take into consideration Miss Ares', Miss Destiny' & Your Testimonys dealing with the well-being of our newcomer. Normally, I keelhaul those that float aboard and hide in fear. They very much remind me of bilgerats. Nonetheless, seeing as how all personal items have been returned, I shall see to it that her good conduct does not go unnoticed. Now that I have her tools, she shall sit tight until I see fit to pass judgement upon her. I shall most likely see her before you two go ashore. Bring her to me here upon the Quarterdeck once you've readied for your venture.

Also, before I forget, you asked earlier what you are to do with your so-called 'instruments of death'. Well, I propose that you take into your own personal ownership that of which you like most, and whatever you are willing to discard, I shall buy from your person for a fare price. Just let me know if you'd like to sell anything."

*Tipping his hat to him, the Captain stepped to the larboard-rail and watched as the 'Rescue' slipped off her lines and drifted off to her leeward about five clicks. She would seem to stick rather close, incase anything was needed.*

(( Are we at port right now Captain? ))

-He came back on deck hauling a large pack of tools and supplies. He needed help carring everything, so he ask for some help from his roommates. They then placed the inventions gently on the deck so that the captain could have a looksee.-

((Yes, The Port of Toulon. Leaving tonight on the evening tide.))

*Looks at Quasan with an interested eye. Wandering over to the inventions, he looks at them curiously.*

"So... what do they do?"
PostPosted: Thu Apr 13, 2006 12:01 pm

"Very well, Captain."

Dr. Baxter went below and grabbed some fresh clothing and put it in his bag along with his straight razor and soapcake. He hoped the inn was still standing enough for him to have a bath in private. While still uncomfortable with all the weaponry, he removed it and locked it in his quarters because he felt that in time they would grow on him. Being aboard this ship is changing him.

Now unarmed except for the original sword and pistols given him by the Captain The doctor then went to the Captain's Quarters and retrieved the woman he had taken captive.
"Come on, lets go. The Captain will judge you now."

He returned above with the woman and stood her before the Captain.
"Here is the stowaway, sir. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going ashore then." He gave a little bow of respect and went to a skiff to prepare to head ashore.

"Well sir, try reading this."

-He handed him a piece of paper with very small text, seemingly impossible to read.-

"Pretty hard to read, huh? Now try it with this!"

-He handed him a pair of goggles to put on.-

"What do you see now?"

*Snapping his fingers at the Doctor*

"Stand Fast, Doctor... If you'd please await the judgement, I'd be much obliged. Thank You."

*Turning from the doctor, he paced about the Quarterdeck, trying to determine what exactly should be done. Making his final decision, he turned sharply to the young girl. A long whisp of hair fell from his head and hung afront his face.*

"Well, Miss. You've managed to cause more toruble in a few days than most could make in a lifetime, haven't you? Now that you find yourself in shackles and trapped like a rat, you seem to be pretty much helpless, don't you?

You must've been in a fit of agony whilst I pondered over your punishment, weren't you? Well then, I will relieve your soul of it's torment. You'll be hanged..."

*Turning his back to the girl, he looked off over the horizon. His arms folded behind him, he stood firm, contemplating what the girl might do. She might try to escape or she might break into a fit of anger & emotional turmoil. Chuckling to himself at first, it eminated out of his chest and into a deep, loud cackling. Turning back to her, he had a wide smile upon his face. Kneeling down to the girl, he looked deep into her eyes, whipped the smirk off his face, replaced it with a firm serious look and spoke*

"Sorry... I couldn't resist. I'm just a mean old man that needs to get his kicks in some way or another... I am truely sorry."

*Chuckling silently to himself, he made his final judgment aloud*

"You've been punished enough, and have served your sentence...
.. Your free to do as you will. If you'd like to go ashore and return to your family, the good Doctor will be more than obliged to accompany you ashore. I do hope, young miss... that you've learned your lesson today. Remember these words miss,
'Only Suicides Steal From Pirate Crews'.

If by any chance you'd like to remain aboard, you'll be needing provisions. Go ashore and grab whatever you think you may need from the abandoned village. Pack it away in a seachest and bring it aboard. I'll assign you a bunk and you may make yourself at home. If you choose not to join our jolly little crew, then that's your choice. It's up to you."

*Extending his hand out to her, he motioned for her to rise with his assistance.*

"Doctor, might you be so kind as to row this young woman ashore and to see to it that she is outfitted with some nice fresh clothes? Her outfit is horridly messed. Infact, while you look for your own collectables, please assist her in finding a trunk full of belongings for herself. Whether she joins our crew or not is none of my concern, but that she is properly dressed after leaving my ship's company is that of my business."

*Smiling at the two, he tipped his wide-brimmed hat and bows to them.*

"Captain J. Kurisutofa, always sees to it that his Prisoners of War are proplery cared for, be they friend or foe; theif or giftgiver, it matters naught."

*In one sweeping motion that lead his large hat back to the top of his head, he turned and went to chart their next course of navigation, whilst he awaited Quasan's Curious Inventions.*
