Hhmmm... the idea of making a scout hang on for his life on the speeder
while others triest to rescue him sounds like a funny conversion. :p
That and the comical marine conversion with a plasmagun.
Shame I can´t find the pic of it. sad

Judging from the parts it is pretty easy to pull off and all parts should be in the tactical boxed set.

thats why i don't use plasma guns! no way they justify losing 31 points model (marine+gun) to a bad dice roll!

I love them. :3
Not only do I have good luck using them, I usually murder enemies with them,
specially with my 4´some plasma cannon team. <3
Nothing gives you a smile on your face seeing terminators failing their moral
test and running away after shooting 4 or more of their brothers with a volley
of plasma cannon fire. xD

You've obviously never led a charge of Bikers through trees, only to lose more than half to dangerous terrain tests and -still- rip through the enemy in CC. Sometimes blowing yourself up is worth it.

And sometimes if gives the movie-like moments when a commander
(good/bad) raises his plasma pistol to finish off his oppoment.
And as he pulls the trigger, the weapon suddenly goes haywire,
steams literally forces it´s way out from the weapons vents and the commanders last words would be "What the eff?" before the weapon explodes,
taking his hand/arm with it and maybe kills him, leaving his oppoment
abit confused but happy that the god(s) decided to spare his life for today. ^-^
o.o how does plasma actually work? :-/

Plasma weapons use a cylinder of hydrogen gas to hyper-excite the particles beyond the point of being gas into the fourth form of matter: plasma. In effect, the gun is firing a miniature sun. Around the weapon's spine and its barrel it generates and projects a magnetic field, and that's what keeps the ball of plasma on target while it fires.

But I figure, that the marines/techmarines consider explosions from plasma weapons as "the machine spirit was not pleased with that particular user!" Surely they arent common enough to dissuade this idea? having trouble getting my own fluff myself. Bolter and Chainsword basically pointed me to read all the books about the marines I can.
