people have a gross misunderstanding about what an 'emo' kid really is. yes they are more suseptable to mood swings but normally 'emo' kids were big loners throught out school who wear their heart on their sleeve. while they do have friends, its often hard for them to communicate with others (most 'emo' kids tend to be artistic in some way, poetry, art, etc. these are some of the few ways they can express themselves.) they aren't hopeless cases but they are hopeless romantics.
they are often jaded and fed up with most of the games people play and since they dont play along they are often treated like crap (ie: bash an emo day)
though in reality most 'emo' kids develop mental dissorders, becoming druggies, or alchoholics. those that dont becomie straight edge and are sometimes more violent ('emo' kids came from an offshoot of punk so while they arent prone to violence naturally they wont shy away from a fight if they feel the need to). and some...well they just grow up like normal people like everyone else does.
everyone thinks the mainstream emo is something else.
and the music is a different story. the 'emo' kid and 'emo' music are somewhat the same but vastly varried as well.
'emo' music is descrpitive or emotionally laced stronger than most songs. they sometimes cross into poetry and 'emo' music started off with punk (and in true essence will aways stay that way) but can offshoot now to any kind of artist (ie: tupac) that can express themselves in a way like that)
yes, yes i know...mountain of text...i get bored easily and write an awful lot.

Ace Zero [ S o u l ] pawntakesknight soul: only if you give him a poofy jacket haha. ive seen my share of scene kids and your avy looks like something i would wear on a daily basis (minus the bandana, tie, and glasses cause i have contacts) and im *sigh* labeled an emo kid....which really isnt too far off (aside from the grossly over steriotypical cutting and stuff XP) keke: web heads unite! movies should be good now. a possible captain america movie, robert downey jr is playing iron man. the new bat man movie in 08, a new resident evil movie, 28 weeks later (ZOMBIES!! heart ) and thats good to hear, at least your on though, your not dead! *confetti party!* Well now i gave him gauges and some converse shoes. XP I hang out with scene kids xD unfortunatly i'm lable emo too emo Thats basically how i dress except for the bandana and glasses (i never needed them) and i don't have scene hair either xD people say i run fast sense i have black in my genes but there are people who have more black then me in there genes idk why people are label as emo unless you have mood swings alot or get sad fast I suppose its because i wear black tees, sometimes with human hearts and skulls and have hair that covers some of my face. Maby also becaus i'm quiet and don't talk much and listen to rock. Who knows. People have asked me the weirdest questions. "Why do rockers wear tight pants?" "have you tried killing yourself?" "Are you emo?" All questions of which i'm not very fond of. Edit: The only lable i give myself is straightedge xD

Thanks for enlightening me Pawn ^-^. Most people say emo kids want to commit suicide all the time..... But after reading your point of view, it seems they just can't socialize and are looked down on all the time.....

not a problem. let them call me what they call me. it just so happens i happen to be their 'emo' kid and i have no problem with that. were not just the but of the joke that mtv made. ive cracked a few skulls in self defense and a drop kick murphys pit is HEAVEN!

OLD fall out boy = WIN! lol
but the again you have the promise ring, piebald, husker du, early november, glass jaw (which people now know the leader singer as the frontman for head automatica), etc. AWESOME bands with that label that can keep up with bands like metallica or biggie or whatever.

haha im a big enough guy where i can take a beating and dish it out (im not a big fan of fighting if i can help it though)
i am thinking of taking a karate class or jiu jitsu class over the summer to learn a proper self defense. i actually really want to take aikido as well.
