I mean do we have to call ourselves YJ? I mean we could be an incarnation of the Titans. Doesn't have to have the teen part in it.

Wanda Wilson_LadyDeadpool We have. Hello again though! I think it might be an idea to rename the team. The Titans, or The Outlaws, or The Alliance...nah, too Star-Warsy.

Hmm if we are going for the good-good team. Then I vote The Titans, if we are going down a slightly more rugged and to the point team, then The Outlaws.

Well, a second option would be to reduce the age of our characters, you know, start earlier, but you're right, it would put them in an interesting position and apply greater pressure to the lot of them. I'm not sure I like the idea of downloading memories between versions of characters, not sure exactly why, but it comes across as kinda creepy, maybe it's because I've not seen this "Steins;Gate" you mentioned, but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.
Well, if we do the Superman Apocalypse retread I have had a few thoughts on it; the first thing we really need is to change the playing field and we do this by bringing New Genesis into the equation. Check it:
Darkseid's minions come to earth for K/Lara having heard about her after his numerous confrontations with Superman, of course Superman and Lois want to go to Apocalypse and start taking names but Batman stops them, reminding them that the Earth is only safe from Darksied as long as the tentative treaty between Apocalypse and New Genesis remains unbroken, which would certainly be result if Earth's heroes were to mount an assault. Best friend Tim on the other hand finds this an even harder pill to swallow and after being left out of the strategy meeting starts to feel rebellious. "If they're going to treat us like kids then we'll be kids." He summons all of the other teen heroes he can think of, some he knows well, and idealistically, suggests a rescue plan using the fact they're kids as a political shield. If something goes wrong, the league can deny all knowledge and the treaty will be safe. They go, issues arise, and are overcome.
Then later, Darksied can mount a full invasion of earth, declaring they violated the treaty and under terms New Genesis can't do anything about it. The League fights, but looses and BANG! Hell on Earth. Now the young heroes must discover a way to fix things or live as slaves to a man who's one step shy of being evil incarnate.
As per your earlier stipulation Zane we'd need players to work the leaver's in a lot of Apocalyian heads, I don't know about the rest, but I'd like someone REALLY good to play Darksied. I can't imagine a character who's more difficult to play without power-gaming. I might even recommend Dark for that...
Well, what does everyone think of that as a story starter? And I mean EVERYONE twisted

No, when I said reduce their age, I meant by like a year or two; so after the training gap they're still their 15, 16, 17 year old selves. xd

I have never really participated in a 'hell on Earth' rp, but I just got out of one. This is a PG13 hell on Earth right? The one I quit before got really dark.

http://steins-gate.wikia.com/wiki/Time-travel_theories Here is a link to a page. basically, it would a massive amount of energy to jump physical forms, and the reality isn't perfect. Due to our lack of twelfth-level intellects at the time of the end of the world, compressing the data in the brain is a much easier and much more cost-efficient way to time-travel. I like the Darkseid idea, but I have trouble imagining people actually playing minions of Darseid. Allies, perhaps, but loose ones at best...let's face it, when have we ever seen a Granny Goodness or Steppenwolf in RPs? I would say that we try a different tact. Something bigger than Darkseid, which is saying something. Because, let's face it...if we go original mixed with canon, we may be more lucky getting villains who look original and aren't just stereotypical DC vilains churned into teenage flesh. Yes, I am loking at all those Jesters and Clown characters out there who think crazy is the new original... So, a new threat on the world. Perhaps a virus has infected Brainiac (Trojan Horse, data manipulation...we can work out the details later), or 'Old Gods' have come to initiate a purge of the Galaxy. A new conqueror, who takes out the Justice League after they reply to a distress call sent out from both Apocalypse and New Genesis. We have a clean slate here before us, so let the ideas flow! I'm not against the 'War of Apocalypse' storyline...it's just thinking of enough peple who would want to take up position as villains to create a threat. We tried it in YJ, and I would say would say our problem was he had little/no villains. In fact, the first villain left us, and the second (which we actually engaged) killed a team-mate. I felt it kind of went too fast due to the lack of threat as we tried to compensate for this. I kind of don't want that to become an issue with this one... So, I would vote to brainstorm for a villain people would want to join in with. Darkseid is an iconic figure...but only as a figure. His subordinates have only really shined in Smallville, and arguably the DCnU Earth 2 (Steppenwolf annihilating the Amazons...definitely gained brownie points in my books). I don't feel that people would create characters to support him...or, at least, would go with all the conventional villains who have apparantly decided that the end of the world is preferable to their current state (which WILL probably bring out a Joker and other canons with paper-thin answers). So, doesn't have to be hell on earth...perhaps a conquest, or a 'liberation' from some force previously unknown. Odds are people may want to participate more as 'Champions' of a galactic conqueror (yes, like Terrax, only better and original) than 'supporters' of the DC's version of the guy from the final scene of the Avengers (Thanos reference ftw). Plus, the galactic conqueror angle would give us a chance to expand the universe as people create, or make ocs for, alien species out there.

I have never really participated in a 'hell on Earth' rp, but I just got out of one. This is a PG13 hell on Earth right? The one I quit before got really dark. I can imagine, well no. I think the main intent would be to create a general feeling of helplessness against struggling on against insurmountable odds. "We are Earth's heroes now." You know, going underground, trying find some way to right the wrongs done to the world, and trying to encourage a conquered population, in spite of their wiser and better equivalents being gone, that all hope is not lost. emotion_kirakira So, dark in the sense that all hope seems lost, but without the graphic portrayals of human skulls as ashtrays or whatever it was that scared you off before. You are a part of this rp and you are entitled to your two cents, you know, cause things generally work better when everyone pitches in. Many hands make light work and all that wink I agree with you on the lack of Apocalypian popularity, though I did see Kalibak in an rp once. xd The main problem with Darksied is that he's just too evil, and even as I say that I know how silly it sounds. See, I think people gravitate to villains like Lex Luthor because he's not bad for no reason, in fact he's well liked in Smallville as that guy who just wanted to save the world, heck even I wanted to smack Clark several times for being that high and mighty, GET OFF YOUR FLIPPIN' SOAP BOX, HE MIGHT HAVE NOT BEEN EVIL AT ALL IF YOU WERE HONEST ONCE IN YOUR LIFE... I'm sorry, lost my train of thought there. redface As it happens Lex is my next suggestion; take one Superman hating 'world can be improved' (idealist?) and a brainwashed Superman, throw in a few heroes and villains supporting a new government and you get the question's worst nightmare! I was thinking sort of like the Savage Time plot turned humanities future into when the Nazi's won the second world war, heroes underground, fighting a guerrilla war against the seemingly ideallic totalitarian regime. Or maybe more like the Justice Lords dilemma, you know, it's not that they're trying to destroy the world, it's that they're trying to FIX IT! For some that means an excuse to brutally punish jay walkers and people who talk at the movie theater, for others a chance to fix the wrongs that have lingered for centuries, and others, something that must be stopped! In both stories and the Darkseid apocalypse and probably the others, I have to wonder what keeps wet those panic button bureaucrats from nuking the world?

So we need an overlord/tyrant from the DCU or an original with a reputation people will want to create and play like minded minions for... I have not seen minions played just NPCed, that could be fun. Are we starting in the less than perfect present and creating a device to go back and fix it? If we are dealing with time travel.
