I did some math. Willingly! And it wasn't for the test I have tomorrow! (at least, I think it's tomorrow, and I really don't care too much cause my study time is shot by going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra tonight, but that's off topic)
Basically I wanted to see when my programs would finish running. Here's the stats...
- In 24 hours, I got a total of about 3 hours worth of run-time. - According to the current results and the exponential growth of the algorithm I'm testing, my last test case will take 42 hours worth of run-time. - If I get 3 hours per day, how many days does it take for my program to complete?
Woohoo! Results are due Friday! I think I'm going to see if I can get my own personal computer to crank out the results... A little bit of tweaking and I should be able to run it under a DOS prompt and dedicate most, if not all, of my cpu to it...
And I'm done being a geek. Tablets - I use a Wacom Graphire 2 myself and it's excellent. I've had it about three years now. I highly recommend them - they aren't too expensive for a tablet and they're good for the average artists and they're durable as all get-out. Trust me. Mine survived the dorms - soda, tea, coffee spilled on it, things like math textbooks falling on it, my friend Jay stealing the tablet pen for the fun of it...

I was worried about the durability of it, since for an unemployed kid saving up for college, it's a big investment. I looked at some cheaper brand that was 12x9 and really cheap, but some of the reveiws said it wasn't compatible with photoshop cs as it claimed to be, so I don't want to risk it. Yea, I'm pretty sure I'll be getting a Wacom 6x8. Thank that's enough space? I'm not really sure how much space I'll need, since I'll be using it for art, so... yea.

My roomie and I were talking about Star Wars today... she's more into it than I am. Anyways, the topic was about fanfics. Now, Sophie and I both have fondness for the quiet writing - the little moments where the character doesn't even realize they've touched something grand. So we are pondering - who would we be in the Star Wars universe and how would we interact with the main characters? The following is our conversation.
Kiddo: Well, we wouldn't be Jedis, let's face it. Sophie: No, definately not. Maybe a smuggler type that tries to cheat the main characters and gets pwned in doing so? Kiddo: Eeeeeh.... maybe. I think I'd be a waitress in the bar serving them their drinks as they bargain with Han Solo, personally. Sophie: Yeah, yeah, that's good. Kiddo: And you? Sophie: *thinks for a moment* I've got it. I'd be a person on Alderan when the Death Star blows it up.
She wants me to write a fanfic for her now.

oh wow!
So this is where the chatterbox went!
Kiddo, that conversation is awesome... I love that.. being normal people in a grand universe where everyone wants to be the powerful or the crazy.
