...so you have someone to make babies with?
I'm not planning to have babies at all, but I have four siblings so my parents will probably have enough grandchildren anyways ;]

My parents keep hassling me and saying, "Oh, you'll change your mind when you're out of school. Look at your Aunt Rose." (Who apparently protested against kids until she had one of her own, or something.) I've told my mother where she can shove that, multiple times.
I'm not a nurturing person. Not a kid person. Besides, my proclivities (or lack thereof) aren't quite conducive to producing children, anyway. :/

EejitFeckles -Moon: Only my mom and sister call me Marta--and friends, obviously. But the rest of my family call me Marvi, 'cause my mom's name is also Marta. biggrin -Wyrn: Ah, they say that now, but once you let them hold that tiny cute little baby, they'll change their minds. ..Hopefully. ninja -Koemiko: What do you mean by shunning you? They ignore you? I'm the next one to have babies from my dad's side of the children--his first three kids are already parents and I'm next! D: Heh, sort of. They ask the children who are either married or married with children over two to three times more often than they do the unmarried children.

F**k the snow. I donno. When less then half the class of a typical public school classroom still has both parents still living together, and not planning to divorce..the kids aren't exactly the most important element in society any longer.:S I'm spent.

You heard the phrase "It takes a village to raise a child" I'll assume; If the village is corrupt and tainted (Drugs, alcohol, lack of any faith, fear of its government and hatred for the things it actually manages to do), the last thing you want is the village to raise the child.
Likewise, it's also assumed that a child needs both a maternal and paternal figure in their lives; again, using a survey of those in prison, it was discovered many had single parents, if not all of them. I myself was in a class of public school brats where more had divorced parents (bitter hatred, lost love, spoiled children, loss of one parent for a majority of the week), then those whose parents had stayed together.
If the government promoted marriage counseling, not Media driven divorce (Judge Judy, live tv divorce courts), we'd have less one parent homes and more two parent families-it wouldn't be a choice any longer. It would also border on communistic activity, but that would be just one of many governmental attributes that I've seen occur.
TLDR: We value the behavioral traits of criminals over the corrected behavior of our children. The more criminals we've got, the more careers we have. The only thing the children seem to give us is more mouths to feed, and more future statistic rates in an working world's favor.(I help pay for 5 Social security users, and a number of Medicaid reliant illegal immigrants.)
