The blob took the hit... but the shot didn't do anything. It just fizzled out when it hit it. That was when the blob grew... and grew... and grew some more! It took a shape. The shape was really hard to make out, but then it made itself known by lighting up it's outline in green. The finite details were shrouded in black, but the basic shape was lit. It filled up the next cavern beyond, where there was another hatchery present.

It's attention turned to the little tank.

"It'S a VoId DrAgOn."

Everybody gaped at it as it stared with glowing green eyes.

"YoU dOn'T. VoId DrAgOnS aRe WhAt ThEy ArE. NoThInGnEsS. EvErYtHiNg ReTrEaTs InTo NoThInG eVeNtUaLlY. I aM oN gOoD tErMs WiTh tHiS oNe In PaRtIcUlAr."

The dragon just soaked up the blast from Trueshot. An eye just blinked, then the other one blinked a little later. It understood Armageddon's demonic language as he spoke to it telepathically. The Void Dragon demorphed back into blob form, and continued around the hatchery.

"It HaD bEeN wAtChInG uS tHiS eNtIrE tImE tHrOuGh ThIs JoUrNeY, aNd HaD aGrEeD tO lEnD uS a HaNd WhEn CaLlEd."

Angeles watched Lilly almost with a sense of pride. It was perfect, she pounced at the right time, moved exactly as she needed, and withing moments the deer was dead. The rest of the herd scattered in panic and Angeles stood from her spot and made her way to the child, who was now on her knees weeping.

Angeles bent down and began to wipe the girl's hands clean on the hem of her coat as she tried to soothe her, "calm down," she said softly, "there's no need for this," she tilted the girl's head up so that their eyes were met, "life passes from one thing to another, that is how nature works, something must die for something else to live. Don't feel bad for it, merely pay it due respect, let nothing go to waste."

Angeles changed the deathwhisper back into a dagger from its bow form and turned to the deer, "thank you for providing us with the meat needed to live," she whispered softly before she cut it's head the rest of the way off.

"I don't know your culture or your species very well, she said glancing at the girl, "do you eat meat raw or cook it? Would you need the leather or the antlers for anything? If not, I'll gladly take those."

The Beast jolted forward, into the next cavern. Again, another hatchery, except the black blob had already taken care of the guards. Now all that was left to do was to shoot the eggs.

"Well, seems this unexpected ally is rather helpful. Now Alucard won't get plucked from the tank and eaten like a snack."

Victor grinned at Vincent's "snack" statement.

Angeles nodded. She was unable to sympathize, and pity the dragon child she did not, but it was more like she understood the child's predicament, "well then," she said calmly and began skinning the deer, "let me teach you a few things that most don't think of now with our modern conveniences," Angeles carefully opened up the deer and pulled it's many organs out, not letting the horrible scent get to her.

"Don't think too deeply about these things, if you think too deeply about them you wont survive, like eating insects," she looked up at the girl, "survival is the second most important thing in the world," she said smiling before she took the deer's bladder and cut it free from the rest of the organs, "this," she said, "can be used to carry water, it's water-tight, and if it's cured correctly will last a very long time."

She set that aside and cut the liver out and then handed it to Lilly, the dark red blood, almost black, running down her hand and arm, "this is the most nutritious and healthiest organ in the body, it can even be safely eaten raw. Take a bite and see if you like it," she smiled and waited for the dragon child to take it.

Lilly nodded and took a bite of the liver awhile she watched Angeles gut and clean the creature. The more Angeles explained the more Lilly felt at ease and the more she understood. "Hmm.." Lilly said as she ate her first little bit of the liver. She soon started gobbling it up unable to help herself. She was hungry and it was delicious. "I like it!" Lilly said as she continued to eat it.

D fired too, along with more shots from Trueshot that Alucard had running wild up there. It wasnt long before all of them had the hatchery completely void of all life. Only the remains of the eggs were littered upon the ground and walls.

"To the left!" Alucard commanded once the room was cleared.

"Probably. We can bring them back." Lilly said to her before she sat down still eating up the liver in her arms. She watched Angeles and listened to her intently like a child learning from their parents or a teacher. Lilly was a good student either way.
