Bigby leads a shaky Mrs. West up to the podium, still wiping tears from her eyes.

* Linda looked at Jenni and took the ring. She wasn't sure what it meant but knew that the girl was only trying to be nice.*

" Thank-you for your kindness.."

* Linda still was shaking as Bigby took her arms and was escorting her.*

As the four Legionnaires retook their seats, each was had different thoughts. XS thought of Linda and Wally, and how heartbreaking it was for her to not know them, to not know her family, and her place with them. Star Boy lamented as well, for he had been told that it was his destiny to come to this time and become Starman, and fight alongside the JLA. The Flash would have been a great friend and mentor to him. Valor was upset that despite all his powers and knowledge, he couldn't stop the death of a great hero. He was also upset that he didn't see this death coming, and the dire consquences for the 30th century. Cosmic Boy reflected on his shame, on knowing that he had an ulterior motive on presenting the Flash's widow with that ring...

During the transaction of the ring, Bigby watches all four Legionairres closely....subconsciously reaching for a cigarette and then dropping his hand again as he remembers the no smoking sign.

After the ring transaction, Virg clears his throat and stands, approaching the podium. Hazarding an awkward glance at Bigby and Linda, Virg swallows, looking out at the crowd from behind the podium.

Wally was a friend. A good friend. He brought me into this guild when I didn't have anybody else out there and I'm forever grateful to him for introducing me to such a wonderful group of people. I never thought I'd see the day that he wasn't here, chatting and smiling and making everyone's day that much better, just for being there.

Virg wipes a tear from his eye, sniffing loudly, the mic making an awkward squeak.

I don't know why Wally was taken from us. It doesn't seem right for me... for any of us to be here instead. Wally was the soul of this place. He made me proud to be a Kapowian and I'd like to think we'll all keep on doing him proud in the days to come. No matter what happens, we can't let everything... everything that's happened tear us apart. We have to stick together and stay strong.

Wally would have wanted it that way.

Goodbye, friend.

After a final squeeze of Wally's hand, face scrunched with grief, Virg wipes at his eyes and slowly walks back to his seat, staring up at the ceiling for a long while.

*Quietly takes a seat and listens, pausing every few moments to dab at her eyes with a kleenex.*

She sat in her seat silently sobbing as people took turns talking about Wally. She wanted to go up there but she wasn't sure how well she could hold herself together, so she instead stayed seated.

The assemblage is quiet as Patsy makes her way to the casket. With a sniffle, she stares blankly at the body for the final time. She turns away, unable to fend off the tears any longer and hides them by going into a bag carried with her. She pulls out a box of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs, Wally's favorite cereal, and gently places the box in the casket alongside him.

"Hope they allow sugar up there." She whispers, leaning down to offer a peck on the forehead.

She can feel the glare of numerous pairs of eyes as she takes to the podium. Bigby Wolf, Virgil Hawkins, Lar Gand, Spider Jerusalem, Clark Kent and of course, his widow. Her glare remains downcast while she tries to gather her words, but the lump in her throat threatens to disentegrate her resolve. A sniffle, a kleenex, and a shake of her head. The pressure is too much.

"I - I'm sorry!" She chokes, stepping down from the podium. "I can't do it!"

The dam burst occurs as she is helped back to her seat by the usher. The kleenex is not up to the job this time and her misery is put on full display. Trembling and crying, she draws more than a casual glance after being seated.

"Wally, you son of a b***h! Why did you leave me?"

Remy looks around from where he stands against the back wall of the room, hands tucked inside of his pocket but wanting to keep his distance, not so much for discomfort but the mere fact he was one of the suspects in a room full of Wally's closest friends.

Remy did not know Wally as well as many of the others here tonight, but Wally accepted his bid to join Kapow, showing a sign of trust in LeBeau that many others did not. He wanted to speak, but knew that the discomfort everyone would feel with him at the podium, particularly the widow, he chose to stay put and pay his respects simply by being here.

Dick Grayson

It was silent, the shuffle of people in their chairs, the sobs of women and a few men, and yet d**k made his way into the room as if he'd been there all along.

He didn't have time to shower, he'd just gotten off the beat and reaked of cigar smoke and wine, the mafia was getting dirty these days. Letting his face traverse the room, he wore his Nightwing attire, mask and all. Sending a nod toward Remy in the back, d**k Grayson slowly and assuradly made his way toward the now empty podium and the casket of his best friend and comrade...Wally West.

"Wally was my friend, my best friend, and now he's running alongside Barry."

His voice never wavered, never altered tones or pitch.

"His sudden leave of his place was unexpected, and yet, we all knew that each one of us could go at anytime. Someone once told me, it comes with the mask."

d**k was talking about Bruce, who had sent his regards via Nightwing.

"He was a Titan first and foremost, then he took on the role of one of the seven, the weight of the world resting on his shoulders. Yet, he took it, tried to run, and had things fall off in the process."

d**k knew things about his friends that no one in the known universe could peice together, and visa versa.

"I know he loved you Linda with all his heart, and every beat, beat for you. I know he loved the League, the Titans, he loved life to its fullest...and now he will be racing the Angels, challenging the very Gods to a few laps around the world, and having the confidence to win. We miss you Wally, and I love you."

He could have shed a tear for the crowd, it was possible, but he held it together and knelt against the coffin.

She stood and walked up to the front trying to pull herself together. She laid a hand on d**k's back and turned to face the crowd.

"What can I say that hasn't already been said? Wally was one of my best friends and I loved him. He was one of the people that brought me back after my life came to a horrible end... again. He helped me when I was having an identity crisis... again. I don't know if I ever told him how grateful I was for all that he did for me. He will be missed greatly."

Tears were sliding down her face as she finished speaking. She glanced at Wally's coffin and whispered a farewell to him before heading back to her seat.

I've never liked funerals. I've been to far to many. Another Flash gone.. it seems like just the other day I would be walking in on Ralph, Hal, Barry, and Ollie playing poker. I was never close to Barry but I respected him. Then after Barry died young Wallace filled in. He was good man who always tried to be the ideal hero. I remember watching him grow up from his days in the Titans as Kid Flash to his days in the JLA as the Flash. Another friend gone... Sue look out for young Wallace, Barry know that your student did a good job, and Wally know that I will make sure that your death will not go unavenged. I continue standing in front of a glass case. I was putting away some of Wally's things right next to Barry as a memorial, old newspaper clippings, pictures from when he was in the Teen Titans, and other various things which several of us managed to place together. I hate doing this, but i will make sure Wally is remembered.

" Goodbye, young Wallace. You're running with Barry now."

I place my hand upon the glass case. But I don't move. I know the others are gathered elsewhere in the watchtower but I have no intention upon joining them.

It was late in the afternoon when Wallace West was finally laid to rest.

Donna Troy, Roy Harper, Garth, and d**k Grayson each took a corner of his casket, and, guarded by energy from the Watchtower, took it out on the surface of the moon and lowered it into the ground.

The silence filled everyone.
