MISSION- A Planner for a Scanner
Any Team Aqua member is asked to go to the Abandoned Ship and get the scanner.
The scanner should be near the back of the ship, but some of the passageways may be flooded.

Pokemon:
Magikarp
Wailmer
Barboach
Feebas

Funds upon completion: 400

It was early in the morning, but a young girl had just arrived at the docks. Her newest mission had been sent to her TADS and so here she was. “Now which of these is the abandoned ship?” she muttered, naively. Her brown gaze scanned over the ships, completely ignorant of the one that wasn’t working. Suddenly a huge crowd of people appeared out of nowhere and she got swept into the wave. However, her Poochyena Kage got sucked into a different crowd of people. By the time she regained her composure, she was stuck on a cruise boat that was already half-way in the middle of the sea. Turning to a fellow passenger, she asked, “What‘s happening?”

The unknown male looked at her a little strangely, but he was friendly. “Well, the first five hundred people on this boat get a free, all day and no expenses cruise. We don’t expect to be back until sunset.”

“What!? You have got to be kidding me!” the girl replied, shocked. It was at this time that she noticed that Kage wasn’t at her side. “No!! I have a mission to do…wait, where’s Kage? Sorry, you’ll have to excuse me while I look for my pokemon…” The girl pulled out a poke ball, releasing her newest team member Kai.

“Pachii..suuu (Where’s my opponent?)” the Pachirisu said, sparks flying from his cheeks.

“No opponent, I need you to help me search the boat and find Kage.” Kisumi replied, starting to panic a little.

The Pachirisu flicked his tail in acceptance, and quickly scurried away.

The ten year old began to frantically ask people if they had seen a Poochyena but no one had. Both her and the squirrel pokemon managed to search the whole boat, but there was no sign of the dog pokemon.

Kisumi sat slumped against a wall, unhappily. “This is the start of a really bad day…”

[On the other boat in which Kage was shoved onto…]

Meanwhile, while Kai and Kisumi were searching the boat, Kage was having troubles of his own. The crowd of people he had been sucked into was yet another day cruise. The dog pokemon had to avoid the clutches of little kids trying to pet him, and pull at his fur. But if he growled at them, adults came and tossed things or tried to harm him. Finally he managed just to settle under a table, and keep a low profile.

A wingull had been watching the Poochyena’s actions, and thought it was all really amusing. What was a pokemon doing on this cruise anyway? It was an all human cruise, and no pokemon were really allowed. Seeing that he was probably going to get tossed off, the bird flew and perched on the railing of the boat.

“Wing..ul..ll.. (Are you lost, friend?)" the Wingull called.

Kage heard him, and stuck his head slightly from under the table, still completely camouflaged. “Poo..ch..ye..na…(Yeah, I got separated from my trainer, and I have no idea where I am.)” the dog growled in response. He rested his head on his paws, sulking unhappily. “c..hh…ye…na…(We were supposed to complete a mission today too…)”

“Win…g..ull…(Well I’ll tell you what. Today there were only two cruises, so that means that your trainer has got to be on the other boat, right? Well I’ve got a friend, who should be able to take you there. So cheer up!)” the seagull replied.

“Yena..poo…ch…(Really? Thanks a lot! I’m really grateful!)” the Poochyena’s tail wagged happily. “Poochyena…(By the way, my name’s Kage.)”

“Wi…ng…ull….(We should get going now. Before you get caught, and they toss you overboard or end up selling you. Just jump over the side of the boat, and my friend is already waiting to catch you. We’ll be off as soon as possible!)” The bird unfolded his wings and took off into the sky, before diving down the side of the boat.

Kage crawled out from under the table, his gaze weary. Seeing no one was watching him, he paused at the railing, staring down. The water looked deep, and he wasn’t a very good swimmer so he would have to trust in the newest friends he had made. He stood there hesitating, when there was a loud shout from behind. Closing his eyes, he made the leap into the unknown waters. All he could remember was the sensation of falling, and then a tug on the scruff around his neck. Opening his eyes slightly, he realized that he was still alive. Glancing around, he realized that he was seated on someone’s back!

The pokemon turned her head, to gaze at the dog on her back. “Lapp…ra…ss (So you’re the one that Ying picked up. Hello there, my name is Yang.) the giant lochness monster looking creature said. Despite her size, she was a very gentle, friendly pokemon.

“Pooch..ye..na..(Hi, my name is Kage. It’s nice to meet you.)” he barked in reply.

The Wingull landed on the Lapra’s shoulder. “Winggg…(Yep, we’re quite a pair of rescuers, aren’t we? Known these seas for as long as we can remember. Why don’t you rest a little, and we’ll wake you when we arrive. There’s still a fair amount of time.)”

Kage nodded, before curling up into a ball. He closed his eyes and let the gentle rocking of the Lapras swimming, and the sound of the waves sooth his way into a deep slumber.

[ Back on the boat…]

Kisumi was just trying to rethink what she could possibly do, when a male approached her.

He was wearing Team Magma colors, and stopped directly in front of the Aqua girl. “Wow, Aqua stoops so low as to allowing little girls into their team. Pathetic. Guess they couldn’t find anyone else, so that you consist of plan B. But hey, at least they have some members. Let’s battle, and I can show you the true power of Team Magma and how low you stand in the ranks.”

Kisumi simply ignored most of the taunts, since she was used to it. Her age and size were two things that counted against her. People couldn’t see her determination, commitment, or other similar stuff like that from physical features.

“Oh, too scared to battle. I understand, Team Magma’s power is indeed great.” The male continued to ridicule the little girl. “Or maybe you think your pokemon are too weak, and maybe I’ll end up killing one of them. Is that why you are so scared? I‘d fear for my pokemon‘s life if I was facing someone as powerful as myself.”

Kai’s cheeks radiated strong sparks angrily, the ‘Zzzt’ sound resounding in the air. “Pachi! Suu! (Bring it!)” the squirrel said snippily.

Kisumi sighed, knowing that Kai was itching to prove himself. “Fine,” she said reluctantly. “I’ll agree to this battle.”

“Okay then, let me explain the rules then. This will be a three single pokemon match.” The male said, smirking and pulling out his first poke ball. “So choose your first pokemon.”

Before Kisumi could do anything, Kai stepped forward his cheeks alight now with sparks of electricity that radiated down his body. “Pachiiii! (I’ll be your opponent!)” he said, eyes glowing with determination.

The Magma member smirked cockily. “Alright, my first pokemon will be my Feebas!” The red trainer tossed a ball into the air, and a red light flashed. When the light faded, a Magikarp was flopping around aimlessly. “Karppp! (Umm.)” the fish said, gulping guiltily.

The male cursed under his breath. “Great, they played another trick on me! Geez, switched all my pokemon and now I don’t even know what I have!” Realizing that he was in the middle of a battle, and that the girl could hear him, he turned embarrassed. “Well, I can defeat you with my Magikarp then! Don’t underestimate his powers, for one day he will evolve into the mighty Gyrados! Magikarp, attack with Tackle!”

The Magikarp continued to gulp, this time in panic. “Magiii! (I only know Splash.)” the fish muttered.

Kisumi looked at the Magikarp, and shook her head slightly. Was this trainer losing it or what? She turned to her Pachirisu, and nodded. He knew exactly what to do, and no words needed to be spoken.

The squirrel pokemon zigzagged forward, before leaping directly onto the Magikarp. Latching his claws briefly into the pokemon as it squirmed, the Pachirisu couldn’t find a good, strong grip on the slippery scales. Instead, he moved frantically trying to stay balanced before gathering the energy and electricity stored in his cheeks, and releasing it into a huge ball!

The Magikarp continued to squirm, trying to throw the squirrel off when the electric current spread through his entire body. It was an extremely strong direct hit, the damage doubled merely because of how close the squirrel was. By the time it faded down, the Magikarp’s eyes were covered in ‘X’s that showed he had fainted.

Kai smiled smugly, his tail curling around his body. But he was excited too, his excitement visible by the amount of sparks on his cheeks.

“Awesome job, Kai!” Kisumi said, proudly.

The squirrel pokemon was perched back on her shoulder, smugly glaring at the Magma trainer as if to say “See what I just did! Take that, Magma scum. Who is the weaker team now?”

“Yeah, well that was just beginner’s luck!” he spluttered, eyes narrowing. “Let’s see your next pokemon!”

Kisumi rolled her eyes, slightly annoyed. But she was winning so far, so who cared what insults he threw at her. “Alright, Akito! Let’s show them what you can do!”

The poke ball flew through the air, and the red beam suddenly exploded in a flash of light. When the light faded, the Hoothoot looked fiercely at the gathered group.

“Hootttt! (Ah, another challenge.)” the owl pokemon screeched. “Hoooooo.. (So where is my opponent?)”

The Magma member threw his poke ball into the air, not really knowing what pokemon was inside.

When the poke ball opened, and the pokemon was revealed, it was a Pichu! The cute mouse pokemon smiled sweetly at the Hoothoot, before blowing a kiss that flew through the air to land directly on the owl’s cheek.

Akito relaxed, his eyes growing into hearts as the effects of the sweet kiss took over his body. He was pulled into growing a deep affection for the small mouse pokemon, and the battle hadn’t even begun.

“Akito, start the battle off! Let’s start with a tackle attack!” Kisumi said, trying to snap him out of his day dream state.

But Akito was in way too deep, so it would take a couple turns before he would snap back to his senses.

The Pichu lost her innocent look, while an evil, malicious glare now focused instead on the still love-struck owl. She concentrated before gathering energy. Sparks flew from her cheeks, as the small mouse pokemon gathered up all the stored energy and prepared to release it.

“Akito! Move away, hurry! Snap out of it!” Kisumi shouted anxiously.

The owl fluttered his wings slightly, his eyes flashing from their normal color….to hearts….back to normal color…as the two fought for control! Finally flash after flash back…the one who had managed to take control was…Akito!

The owl was back in action, completely back to himself. Screeching his annoyance at being caught unaware, he flew high up into the sky. Tucking his wings in, he dived down preparing to hit the mouse pokemon squarely in the chest with a powerful tackle attack.

The mouse braced herself, but she was still so light that her body was sent flying through the air like a bird, and then lay sprawled on the deck with a loud 'thunk'.

She struggled upright and winced slightly. Just from one attack she was already starting to feel weaker, and the effects were making her slow down. Catching a glimpse of her trainer, she saw the barely visible flick of his hand. It was the signal for her to use the secret weapon!

Akito was getting too cocky, and hard headed. Geez, the bird thought he would just counter attack on his own, flying back up to the sky and then diving right back down again.

But this time, it was exactly what the Pichu wanted. As soon as he dove close, she jumped onto his back and stood upright.“Piiii….CHUUUU!!!” she shouted, and a huge, wicked thunderbolt appeared from the sky and landed directly on the two pokemon. The thunderbolt did nothing but energize the Pichu, but it completely electrified the bird pokemon.

The two were catapulted downward, spinning at an increasingly fast rate. The Pichu was perfectly fine, and so she just leapt off when close enough to the ground. Landing gracefully, she then stood upright, grinning to herself.

Akito slammed face first into the deck, and when some of the dust cleared was seen with ‘X’s in his eyes that announced his fainted state.

“You did your best, and that’s all anyone could ask for.” Kisumi said, smiling sadly. Pulling out his poke ball, she returned him and placed the poke ball on her belt.

“Okay, c’mon out!” The male Magma trainer called.

The pokemon that appeared on the ground was a….Kakuna!

The Magma trainer groaned. “You don’t know any good moves…” he whined, sulking. “Okay, let’s see your last pokemon.”

Kisumi sighed. “I have one, but he’s not here right now.” she said, reluctantly. She was missing Kage now more then ever, knowing that he was always there to help lift her up.

A wide smile crossed the opponent male’s face. “Yes! I’m gonna win then! If you don’t have a third pokemon, then you have to forfeit! In your face! Yes! Team Magma is the ultimate winner!” The male did a little ‘happy dance’ leaping up and down into the air.

A low growl made him freeze and turn around. “Poochyena! (I don’t think so.)” he growled loudly. The dog pokemon was back, and ready for action.

Kisumi ran up to him, petting him and hugging tightly! “Kage, you’re back! How did you get here? We searched the whole boat and everything, but we couldn’t find you!”

“Poo..chhh…yeee…nn…aaa…(I got separated and stranded on another boat. My friends Ying and Yang over there helped me get to you. I owe them a great deal, and they simply are staying to watch the battle.)” the Poochyena quickly explained. He let out a ferocious snarl, and then turned to glare at the Kakuna.

“Poochyena…(Back down while you can.)” he snarled.

The Kakuna looked nervously at his trainer, then back at the dog pokemon. “Kakuuu…(Unfortunately I cannot. Please make this as painless as possible.)” the Kakuna replied.

The Poochyena nodded agreement, after all it wasn’t like he was a cruel, merciless pokemon who thrived on killing.

“Alright, Kakuna, all you have to do is keep dodging. If he doesn’t hit you, then you won’t faint. If you lose this battle, I’m dumping you on the nearest island and leaving you there! Or maybe something worse, so you’d better not lose!” the trainer grunted angrily.

The Kakuna looked nervous, and extremely agitated. Instead of waiting for the Poochyena’s first move, he swung forward and backward, preparing to dodge any attack aimed at him.

Kage raced forward, encircling the Kakuna, and making it so that he was unable to move. He was moving at a speed that was fast enough, so that all that could be seen from the trainer’s view was a black and gray blur of fur. Moving faster and faster, he attacked from all sides slamming continuously into the brown pod that was unable to move away. He slowed down, and stood there panting lightly and looking at his opponent.

The dust cleared, and the Kakuna revealed that he had fainted. The Magma trainer pulled out a revive, and the pokemon regained consciousness. “That’s it for you.” He said, grinning evilly. “Just wait until we arrive back at headquarters, to see what I have in store for you.”

The Kakuna shook, terrified of what was to come. Having survived the battle, and all the pressure that was most certainly a sign that he was in danger of his life, he did the one thing that was unexpected. He started to shine, which announced the arrival of his evolution. A bright, blinding white flash of light announced the arrival of the newly born Beedrill.

“Beedddrillll (Now you can’t boss me around anymore. Let’s hear your threats now!)” the bee pokemon buzzed, holding his lethal stingers up and charging towards the trainer.

The male took off running, trying to hide amongst people, and was soon lost in the crowd.

“Good job, everyone!” Kisumi said happily. “We’ve just won our first one on one battle with Team Magma. Let’s get everyone healed up.”

So the day continued, and as soon as they had left the pokemon center located on board, the ship had just arrived back at the docks. Everyone left, chattering about the good times and the fun they had. Meanwhile, Kisumi and all her pokemon left the ship, and glanced at the falling sun. Now they had another mission to complete, before they had a chance to go home.

[At the Abandoned Ship]

Though it was close to sunrise, the Abandoned ship looked peaceful. It wasn’t like any ghosts haunted the ship, but instead it was half covered in water.

Kisumi assembled the group, and they began their search together. Walking through the first door, the hall was pretty straight forward. It wasn’t submerged in water, and it led in one simple direction: straight. Of course, things weren’t always that easy. After reaching the end of the hallway, it split three ways. Kage took the left doorway, instructed to bark if he found the scanner. Akito was given the same directions, except for the noise he made of course, as he took the right door. That left Kisumi and Kai together to explore the middle door.

Kai scurried forward hurriedly, not really paying attention to anything. He leapt from rock to rock, trying to avoid the water. Suddenly he landed on something that was soft, and sort of squishy. Jumping up and down curiously, he was alarmed to see that he was inside of something’s mouth, and it was closing!

“Paaaachiiiiriiissuuuu (Please don’t eat me!)” the squirrel begged, cowering.

The mouth paused in its shutting, and opened wide once again. When the squirrel was safely outside, the Wailmer glared angrily at them. “Waiillllmerrr (I don’t eat squirrels.)” she said, huffily. “Wa…illl….(And I prefer to be addressed properly. Geez, pokemon these days grow up without any manners. Back in my day, we….)”

Both Kage and Akito had been drawn to the sound of Kai’s help cry, and so they were now there, gathered close.

“Poochyena….ch…ye…na…(Excuse me, ma’am. I was wondering if you could help us in our quest to find a scanner? Would you happen to know where it is, and if you do please inform us of the location. We would be forever grateful, if you would please enlighten us with any knowledge you might have.)” Kage said, sucking up to her a little.

“Wail….mer….wa…ill….m…er…(Well, at least someone has some manners. Actually many have attempted to try and locate the scanner but none have been able to obtain it. Because quite idiotically, they engage in battle, when I could really care less about this old piece of iron. If they asked as politely as you, I would have simply given it to them. Now since you are the first to ask, and my what manners you have, I shall allow you to have it.)” The female Wailmer dove under water, and within a couple of minutes resurfaced. Opening her mouth, she gently placed the scanner on the ground in front of them, using her tongue.

“Poochyena… (Thank you very much, and our sincerest apologies for interrupting your sleep!)” the dog said gratefully.

“Waillllmmerrrrr… (You are very welcome, and come visit some other time.)” the Wailmer called before submerging back under the water.

Everyone followed the way they had came, and were soon outside once again. Yawning, Kisumi returned Akito and Kai to their poke balls. Kaze walked alongside of the girl, as they headed back to headquarters to deliver the successfully retrieved scanner. The adventures today had been very long, but it was well worth the effort.

Arekku looked a little off, "Well I was thinking that Soulja could possibly hop up onto Shin, Shin could do a combo Sandstorm and Rapid Spin, making the sandstorm more tornado-like. then Soulja could use Poison Sting making small purple explosions, then Soulja could use String short into the tornado. And as soon as Shin stops the sandstorm the lose ribbons of the sticky string would slowly fall. The end result would be Soulja wraped around Shin's neck to his head held above Shin's point..." Arekku could see it in his head but wasn't sure about the strategy. He sighed, "Well, I guess we could all use some rest... We'll practice tomorrow after the big RP.... Night Memo." He went inside HQ after returning Shin. He went to his self claimed corner and sat there for awhile before going to sleep.

Kisumi yawned, finally she could go to sleep. Finishing the report, she turned it in and then rose. Stretching slightly, she then picked up Kage and headed towards one of the empty rooms. She wouldn't bother walking home tonight, it was too far. Settling, with Kage snuggled beside of her, she smiled contently and went to sleep.

Memo scratched his head and laughed, but it was fake. He felt horrible for letting down Arreku.
"Uhh yea hehe, bye Arreku."
Memo returned Soulja back to his ball and walked back inside the HQ, walked to his room and fell asleep, feeling bad, but maybe rest was all he needed.

Kisumi woke up early, and went to go review her report. Seeing the sticky note, she glanced at it and then at her report. Sighing, she edited through her report, and rewrote some of it. She felt really dumb, but that's what happened when she rushed and tried to finish the report. Besides she always seemed to get Kakuna and Metapod mixed up. After she finished editing through it, she replaced the report on the table. No more staying up until four in the morning to finish a report. Geez. She headed out once again, this time to clear her head a little and maybe go home and get some more sleep.

Sammy yawned as she walked in. “Hello!” she called to everyone, before seeing the finished mission report. She wrote her grade down on the table, sitting on the couch afterwards.

“ I enjoyed reading this mission for sure! It was a very healthy length, it had lots of suspense, and you even added a battle! I also noticed that three of the four pokemon that were allowed to be caught were mentioned in the mission, so that was a nice touch…. And now I want a ranting Wailmer. :’/ There is only one thing I’ve got to point out; the battle with Kakuna was a bit short. Even if it is a weak pokemon, it still has the move Harden, which would help it surive. Along with some other moves already obtained after evolving from Weedle. You didn’t even have to battle in this mission, though, so this is easily looked over. NOW! My final grading? It… was… Amazing! Keep 400 PD (Plus an extra 100, if the higher-ups don’t mind…) I also suggest asking either Thard, Ginji, or Brian if this deserves a rank-up, ‘cause I’m not allowed to give them. Congrats!

~Sammy”
