A new presence in the room. That caused Koushin to gently lower the window to a closed position. As he did so, it seemed that the mist in the class room grew thicker. It also seemed that their Sensei was back, and if he had heard correctly, he was also the new Mizukage, and if his history was correct, the Yondaime Mizukage. Turning, Koushin listened to Zane confirm that Daisuke was, in fact, a water element.

Just like him.

And so, the exercise started. Zane had instructed Daisuke to pull water from the puddle into an orb. It was an easy, yet at the same time, difficult exercise. Coincidentally, Koushin himself had enough moisture clinging to his skin to form a small sized orb, just under the size of a baseball. Wiping his right hand across his face, over his exposed neck, and over his left palm, Koushin cupped his hand to hold the water, comprised of slight bits of sweat, and mostly the mist's catching onto his body. It was a decent amount of water, and it shifted lightly as his hand twitched in anticipation.

Now, came the hard part. The silver-blue haired Academy Student started building up his chakra, in the pit of his stomach. It swirled gently, so much so that it actually tickled, but he managed to repress a giggle. Letting the chakra flow from his stomach, to his arms, and then to his hands, to anyone with an eye that could see chakra, his hands would be aglow. The chakra in his right hand seeped into the water, gently, melting itself into the water, gently making it it's own, but never forcing it to become so. The water in his hands shifted, the surface of it rippling as he pulled at it with chakra, trying to make it assume a dome shape without the aid of his other hand, but it was no use.

With a mental sigh, Koushin raised his left arm and placed his left hand over the cupped hand, letting that chakra act as a magnet, gently pulling the water into shape, forming it into a small, solid sphere about the size of a very large pebble or marble. It was almost too easy, but that came because of his time working on his chakra control instead of his body, like others would have. He was weak, more so than the average Shinobi, but could easily take a civilian in a fight. Pouring a bit more chakra into the water sphere, Koushin slowly expanded it, creating another sphere of chakra to hold the water at bay in the middle. The result was a hollow sphere of water, the size of a soft-ball. It was really quite beautiful.

(Hope you guys don't mind me ninja-learning this. It would be quicker than waiting for Mibu to return, finish up with you, and then teach me again.)

Next was the pulling of moisture from the very air itself to create water. A very useful skill, allowing a Shinobi to create water where he needs it to be, instead of having to be around water. Slowly lowering the soft-ball sized orb of water and air, Koushin rolled it away from him, watching it dissolve into a trail of water, breaking apart faster and faster the further it got away from him, and his chakra.

Now that he had little to focus on other than the moisture around him, Koushin straightened himself out and raised his right hand up to chest level. Closing his eyes, Koushin took in a deep breath through his nose, and released it almost soundlessly through his mouth. He could definitely feel the chill of the mist around his skin, and also in his clothing, and the awareness of it's presence only increased as he reached out his chakra. 'Slow but steady...' Koushin thought, reeling in his eagerness before it disrupted his flow of chakra, and thereby forcing him to start over again. Wrapping his chakra around the moisture in the air like a hand grasping at cotton balls, the silver-blue haired academy student slowly brought it back to his being. The moisture came ever closer to his right hand, which was also concealed through a veil of chakra, receptive to any water it might find. In preparation, his left hand also came up, coated in chakra, at the side of his right hand, in order to catch any excess water. Tugging the chakra tendrils back into his hands, there was a sudden explosion of water, filling his two hands completely. It had almost fallen to the ground, but was caught by his chakra, slowing it's descent and keeping it there, before rolling it back up, even slower than it had stopped.

'An interesting skill, to say the least... and should I ever find any Ninjutsu that I will actually use water with... this will invariably come in handy.'

Zane raised his thumbs up to the two of them. "Well considering the fact that your a genjutsu user, you may have to use some water manipulation in order to perform Kiri's water genjutsus," Zane told him. "You're a genjutsu user right...Koushin?" Zane said, remembering the name from the profiles he had in his office
PostPosted: Tue Nov 10, 2009 8:25 am

"That I am, Mizukage-sama." Koushin replied in the affirmative. A small shift of his hands would let the water fall to the ground, chakra in his body receding to an unused state. It would be best to conserve his chakra, even during training. His head and body turned to face the Mizukage, and current Sensei, Zane. A small smile was on his lips, nodding in acknowledgement to the Mizukage.

Eljin: "Alright then...in order for an academy student to advance to genin...one must learn all of the Academy level genjutsus. So lets begin shall we," Zane stated as he took out a scroll revealing the Academy Mist Genjutsus. "Arlight, I'm going to have to explain what each one does considering the fact that I'm not of the genjutsu class so I don't really know any," Zane explained to him as he read the first one out loud:

Doro Bunshin no Jutsu (Mud Clone Skill)
Description: This jutsu creates the illusion of bunshins that try to reassemble themselves after being hit. They are, however, complete illusions incapable of any real action, and are often used to tire down the unsuspecting opponent

"So there you have it...now lets see you try it out. Think of the regular bunshin, but add more chakra to it...becaus a regular bunshin dissapears completely once they are hit. But these reassemble themselves."

Mayvine: Zane looked back at Daisuke and pointed at the closet. "If I remember correctly there are weighted vests inside there. I want you to wear it and run around the village...twice. The extra 30 pounds should be goood to develop your body," Zane explained to him

(Eljin: Two paragraphs of at least 5 sentences, that's taken into account your class bonus of decreasing the number of posts to learn genjutsus

Mayvine: 1 paragraph of at least 5 sentences of you running around the village. Post at Kiri Market, Kiri Village, Mizukage Palace, and Ushio Clan Compound...Twice. Then report back here)

'The Mud Clone Skill, huh? It seems like it'd be useful... It might just be a mainstay in my technique list, at least for a small time.' Koushin thoughts traced the uses of such a skill. Having Bunshins that were meant to tire the opponent out would be invaluable, especially for his weak frame.

Regardless, it was time to try the skill out. Closing his eyes, Koushin brought his hands into the customary Tiger hand seal, a focus for his chakra. Said chakra reacted to his call, swirling about and wrapping around his stomach, following his mental directions. The chakra flowed from Koushin's stomach to his hands and head, the tendrils moving about as he focused on what he was supposed to do. With a large puff of smoke, the Bunshins he summoned came into focus, three of them in total, and looked solid enough. A quick shift of his foot would catch the nearest Bunshin right on the ankle, damaging it enough to disperse it. At first, the Bunshin looked like it was going to repair itself, but it just seemed as if a weak stream of brown were coming from it's foot and ankle. Almost disgusting.

Shaking his head, Koushin dispelled the clones, before bringing his hand into the Tiger hand seal once more. 'This time, I think I have it.. I didn't use enough chakra, and I didn't imagine it correctly.' Koushin focused now, summoning up more chakra, before expelling it all in one go. This resulted in two Bunshin, these looking just the same. With a skeptical eye, Koushin observed the movements of the clone, before suddenly striking out the tip of his fingers into the shoulder of the nearest one. The shoulder seemed to melt off, before reforming, like a mass of chakra controlled mud. A small frown caught Koushin's eye, before striking it again, this time right on the chin. The head snapped back, and off, before the Bunshin caught it's own head, and placed it back on, mud swirling about to reattach them, acting as muscle, tendon, and skin.

"...Kind of a freaky skill, but I have it down, I believe..." In reality, Koushin's eye twitched. He knew Genjutsu was only what the caster manipulated your mind into. Was he really this... creepy in the head?

(Oh, right. Dark Blue is my thoughts, regular Blue is me speaking. Just letting yah know.)

(Lol..good to know)

"Wow," Zane stated as he watched the genjutsu user at work. He had never seen the water genjutsus at work, so not only was it good training for Koushin, but it was good training for him as well. "Now it's time to practice on me with the next one," Zane told him as he read out the next jutsu.

Kanraku Kibun (Sinking Feeling)
Description: This makes the mind of the person getting hit think that he or she is stuck in the middle of the sea and is starting to sink and despite their force they continue to do so. The person hit feels rather exhausted afterwards.

"So basically you have to make me feel like I'm stuck ini the middle of sea. Make sure your mind imagines the same feeling in order to inflict upon me," Zane explained to him.

(Same as before, do it on me)
PostPosted: Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:37 am

'Drowning at sea, huh? I can only imagine how it feels, since I've never gone further than chest height into water...' Koushin frowned. Eyes closing again, he imagined himself in a realm full of water. Not just any water, though. The taste of salt was also present in his mind. He could feel the water, shifting, wavering, pulling, moving him about at it's own whim. A powerful element, but this was only thought. In order to truly have a full knowledge of the feeling, he would have to fall under, and he did. Koushin felt the water swallow him up, and even in this dream realm, he felt the sting of salt in his eyes. It was almost comparable to having sand thrown into your eyes, he guessed.. It was truly a terrifying feeling, not being able to draw in oxygen, having salt sting your eyes as you try to look about, the pressure slowly increasing...

Koushin's eye's opened, as he slowly formed the seals of the Jutsu in question. Chakra welled up in his stomach, hands, and mind, and he imparted those images, those feelings into his chakra. With a single exhalation of breath, the chakra would be cast out of his system, working it's way around the Mizukage's mind, trying it's best to penetrate, to incorporate itself into his mind, to make Zane feel what Koushin had, that truly terrifying feeling of being held at the whim of the sea, sinking to it's depths. There was no escape, unless given mercy by the sea itself, or in this case, the caster of such a Genjutsu. Should the Genjutsu latch onto Zane as he had planned it to, it would feel him with the same images, the same dread, that he too had conjured in his own mind.

(I'm too used to having to type so much more. x_x)

(Lol, well i would make you write 3 but it looses 1post because of your genjutsu class lol. Don't worry, the upper levels woill be harder)

As Koushin's chakra overfilled Zane, he allowed himself to be affected by the genjutsu. As he did so, Zane opened his eyes as he was swimming in the middle of the ocean. Suddenly, he felt as if he was being pulled under the water, sinking into the sea. The salt water going inside of his lungs as he was loosing oxygen fast. Then just as he felt like he was about to die from the lack of oxygen, Zane released himself from the genjutsu. "Whew...that was REALLY good. I'm amazed at the genjutsus power...you will make an amazing shinobi here. Well we got only two more to go," Zane said to him as he read the next one.

Bakuretsu Kunai (Exploding Kunai)
Whenever the target touches a weapon it seemingly explodes. Even if it’s there own.

"Well, try it on me now. Remember to apply the same technique as before. Imagine the explosion of a kunai," Zane told him as he threw a kunai out the window. The kunai hit the lake outside as it exploded the moment the tip touched the water. Seeing the explosion would help Koushin with the jutsu. Zane then took out a kunai and held it in his right hand.

"Yes sir," Daisuke said as he went over to the closet and pulled out one of the vests. "Are you sure this thing is weighted," Daisuke said not noticing that lines had started to creep across his skin and that his general muscle bulk had doubled. (I just got the strength curse mark biggrin )

"Heh, thank you, Mizukage-sama. I accept your praise humbly." Koushin bowed his head, before watching the Kunai sail out the window, and land in the lake, only to explode the second water caught the metal. It provided an interesting idea, but he would store the knowledge for later, when he was much more experienced.

The explosion was almost beautiful in the way it had exploded, and as Koushin observed, he noticed little fragments of metal spinning off from the impact, lodging itself into wood and earth. The heat was barely felt by him, but he knew how intense it could have been. Once, Koushin had placed his hand too close to a fire, and blisters had formed as a result. They were painful, but went down after a few days. and they had also needed to be popped. The smoke would be easy to imagine, too, as it rose like it would from a fire, after exploding out like a smoke ball would.

A few hand seals were preformed as Koushin brought his chakra to rear it's head once more. It swirled about, before lashing out and gently caressing it's tendrils across Zane's face. It would gently push itself into the currents of the Mizukage's own chakra, and interfere with his perception. Not a second later, would his flesh act as a catalyst with which weapons of all kind would explode upon contact. The fact that Zane was holding a Kunai didn't make it any better, either, as the heat of his warm flesh caused the Kunai to explode.

The explosion would be loud in Zane's ears, and the smell of burnt metal and flesh would reach his nose. His hand would be very damaged, skin ripped off, almost flayed to the bone from such an explosion, and blood would be pouring out from the few places that weren't cauterized from the heat of the explosion. Fragments of metal would be present in several areas, almost sealed there as the heat burnt the skin closed. Or, at least, until the Mizukage released the Genjutsu currently messing with his head. The fact that Koushin had to imagine all the details himself unsettled the student just a bit, but he knew the dangers of the trade, and was ready to accept them all.

( I think I might just do 3 paragraphs anyway, to appease my writer spirit. xD; )

Mayvine: (Nice...) "Yes they are weighted now go..." Zane sighed. (You might want to tell Zane that you got the curse mark)

Eljin: As Zane looked down at his kunai after the chakra took effect. The kunai exploded right in front of him as he looked down at the hand holding it...it was completely blown off. He yelled out as he could feel pieces of metal lodged to the right side of his face. The fact that it felt so real unnerved him as he released the genjutsu. Looking down at his hand, he was still holding the kunai. "Well...that was interesting...much fiercer than the last one. Okay we got one more to go," Zane told him.

Kani Hokou (Crab Walk)
Description: A fairly simple jutsu but can ruin many strategies, this switches how the brain works on moving and causes those hit by the genjutsu to walk around like a crab.

"Well...I guess just picture the way a crab walks...seems simple enough," Zane told him.

(Now I remember why I chose Genjutsu. It's fun.)

The yell had shocked Koushin. Had the Genjutsu really done that much mental shock, to make someone yell with such strength? Koushin shook his head. This was his training, and there was no time to feel bad or sorry. He KNEW what he was getting into... right? 'Either way.. no time for second guesses. I've come this far, and I intend to go all the way.' Koushin settled himself, listening to the description of the Genjutsu. At first glance, the Crab Walk didn't seem all that useful, but neither did most Genjutsu. After all, what's so great about screwing with someone's mind, over punching their face in?

Exactly this. By screwing with how the brain works, one can disrupt so many strategies and gain the upper hand. In particular, this one forced one to walk and run sideways, which would be harder to adjust than one might think. The way a crab walked was much too different from how a human did, and with the jutsu, the legs would have to be at exact opposites of each other, positioned in such a way that it left the more private areas of the body exposed to attack. Not only that, their knees would be bent as they skittered, making it hard for them to boost away from an attack.

Focusing on how the crab walked, and how a human would have to imitate it, Koushin brought the chakra into his hands. Tiger, Boar, Serpent. Those three hand seals provided the conduit for chakra to flow as he imagined it, and from there, it latched onto Zane's mind. Should Zane walk at this time, he would find himself unable to walk forwards or backwards, but instead be forced to skitter from side to side, unable to check his back for anything. Not only that, but it would provide some laughs for Koushin in the time to come. It's not every day you see the Mizukage do the crab-walk, after all.

(... stare you're lucky this is training...)

Zane sighed as he was affected by the genjutsu. Suddenly, he felt his legs pivet as they turned inside. He looked down on them and attempted to walk forward, but his mind refused ot let him. He instead walked several steps to the right. He tried to walk backwards but instead walked several steps to the left...looking like a fool. "This is rather embarrasing..." Zane stated as he released the genjutsu. Looking down at the scroll he smiled. "Well congratulations...you have finished all the Academy Genjutsus. Now before anything else...there's a mission that I would like you to complete," Zane told him as he handed the scroll to Eljin. Once he read it it would say:

Shinobi Tools ((Note: This mission may only be assigned. You may not pick it unless asked by Jonin+))
Mission Rank: D
Information: Mist's Upper ninja have always prided themselves on their ability to control their emotions and to complete any task without a problem of feeling.
How-To-Do: Find a secluded place in mist and post there 3 times explaining how you dull/kill your emotions for the next mission. Once finished report to your sensei or sesu. In the first post it is suggested that you tell people not to post until you are finished. Post 8 times in the same spot and it will count for 2 missions.

"Complete that mission and then return to me," Zane told him.

"Hai, Mizukage-sama." Koushin nodded, a smile on his lips. Taking the scroll, he pulled at the strings that bound it, then stretched it out, exposing the text of the mission to him. It was a mission, only in the sense that he was required to do it. It wasn't anything hard, physically. But he would be required to kill off all emotions, and harden his heart in preparation for the next mission. A small frown on his lips was apparent, but he nodded again. "I will return shortly."

With that, Koushin exited the class room, followed the signs to outside of the Academy, and went about his way, to find a secluded place to practice his ability to kill off his emotions.
