While contemplating what to do for my new character i thought of an artifact that i have to ask about.

would it be overpowering for a person to have a force artifact that creates a 'stillness' around them, basically causing mediclorians in thier body and just barelly around them not to respond to a jedi/sith.

basically meaning that they cannot be directly effected by the force (IE cannot be force choked, pushed or lightninged) but cannot use the force either.

oh and of course said artifact would be unable to stop him from being harmed by an indirect force attack (throwing things at him, collapsing objects over him, and force lighninging his best friend next to him XD )

Dude, do know what's going on in the guild right now?

Having 'stillness' of medi-chlorians wouldn't stop force from effecting you, as medi-chlorians, are the way a Sith/Jedi manipulates the force, the more medi-chlorians you have the better you can manipulate the force, therefore having 'stillness' around you would only disable your ability to use the force.

Speaking of which, it would seem Robert Jordan has died sad ...

There is a creature called the yallismari (sp?) don't know where you can get one, but they are in the Thrawn Trilogy and it does what Galdon has said. Not that it stills the medichlorians, but that it creates a dead zone in the force. It's great for a non-force sensitive to use. 3nodding Hence Grand Admiral Thrawn having one to protect himself from Jorus Caboth.

I hadn't realized he was dead, I did know that he was dying of the disease but... wow.

Illyria's talking of the Ysalamir, a creature from Myrkr that can project a Force bubble inside which it is completely neutral and cannot exert any influence.

I think making the force not work on you would be stupid, maybe not god moding as the uber awesomeness of not being able to be touched by the force is countered by the fact you can't use it.

But that also means if you ever meet Virtra or any other Sith they pretty much just have to kill you because they can't do suspensiful choaking and what not.
