Some did it more eloquently than others, but basically, that was the message. Even when I agreed with them.

No, I'm not really interested in debunking any beliefs you might hold, it would just be really cool to talk about American politics with someone more informed about the process and the policies than me! I knew a bit of the basics of the washington system before I got here, but a lot of it is still really over my head!

I have a good friend who is a law student, we get drunk and watch C-Span together quite regularly! I actually get a kick out of it. It's very tame compared to what goes on in Australian Parliaments!

I'm actually not political at all, I just wanted to say that.

I have no idea how my own Government works at all, I just know the economy sucks and Osama better fix it.

Also, I call him Osama because its funny.

Through a fine mixture of nepotism, greed, inefficiency, fearmongering, and the willingness of the American people to continue taking it up the a**.



He won't. He can take some steps to fix it, but unfortunately for us, he's a "moderate" which means he has no balls and no ideas, and is basically Bush's third term. I feel sorry for any future black Presidents, because there will be the "What if he's another Obama?" question being asked.

Unfortunately, the process designed for the people to get around an unresponsive Legislature happens to be open to a lot of groups. Which is to say, pretty much anybody and any group can have a chance to go HERP DERP LET'S WAVE THE FLAG AND MAKE A PROFIT, or HERP DERP LET'S WAVE BABY JESUS AND ANNOY THE GAYS.

Like, say, Utah.

Hyperpluralism is a b***h, and while I don't like the impact of Progressive Era reforms, I'd rather have it than not have it.

It's a shame actually, I feel as if Obama has been forced to be a moderate out of fear of reform policies being choked in the senate.
I mean, when the opposition blatantly lies on your news programs about the contents of a bill to scare the constituents, how is he supposed to actually institute any radical reform!? Just watching the circus with the health care reform I was amazed. I couldn't believe the s**t people believed was in that thing. Didn't any of them read it!?

Then again, I still speak to waiters and taxi drivers who tell me he is a Muslim.

All he has to do is say IT'S VITAL FOR NATIONAL SECURITY. Or, take a page from his predecessor and just blatantly abuse executive orders and signing statements and such.
