Mergle thergy...grbuuu
They keep giving us less and less time for these episodes....
Apparently I ramble when I'm tired. I seeeee a pattern.
I am always tired.

Awe, thank you!
On the bright side, it looks like they gave me an entire scene (about 19shots worth) for next episode. That'll look real good on a demo reel. smile

Been looking through the NPC list. There were a lot of characters in Lab that I had a lot of plans for...but never carried them out.

Mostly...and I didn't edit them out either...I fear touching some things still.
On a side note...my storyboard is composed of 24 shots, and will make my fingers bleed.
Someone tell me why I decided to animate a story that involves a dragon...

for the same reason I chose to animate a fortress, flowing hair and magical energies and such when I was in college. it looks nice...until you realize the trouble it is heh.

24 shots, or 24 sequences?
There are lots of tricks that you can use to help you cut down on the amount of drawing you have to do. Really, A lot of the boards I get are simple body constrictions with smiley type faces on them.
I would highly suggest doing them on the computer if you're allowed, it cuts down on a tremendous amount of work.
*shrugs* The same reason why I decided to do dino walk cycles for fun?

Apparently as artists, we're amused by shiny flashy things, scales included. That and we like to torture ourselves with things we love.
Depends on your definition of sequences I guess. 24 storyboards, 11 scenes they are included in...I think. After discussing other half done boards in the last half of class and throwing ideas to others because of such, I don't remember my own numbers...just that I have 24. Plus dialog...I hate recording dialog.
Oh believe me, I am so cutting corners, using the computer, and reusing what footage that I can when I can. Like flight cycles...use the first one as a base, modify slightly as needed for others.
At least for 3D, my castle is built so I don't have to worry about that anymore. Yay massive structures.
If anyone is wondering...yes I am already stressed out for the semester.

Ah, you're doing 3d stuff, cool cool. So of course it would be on the comp, hurray for that!
Well, technically there is only one definition: a 'sequence' is technically referring to a group of shots; ie "The sequence where Brian tells Kathy he loves her." A 'scene' is when the location changes, ie "Brian ran from the kitchen to the bedroom'' - two different scenes, still one sequence. A 'shot' is any time the camera changes.
Typically, for each shot, I usually get two drawings. So simple scenes (I'm still an amateur animator guys, I only get one or two complicated shots a quota) require 2 storyboards.
Oh we did that too, halfway through the project, get up and present it, discuss. I had a bunch of aliens fighting over a balloon fish, I had to make a lot of changes too it after that discussion. And my markers got a work out. (where the hell did I put those markers?)
I think I'd expect you to be stressed out about one week into the semester razz . Just as soon as the 'here's what this semester is about' classes are done. ^^
Eerg, sorry for the long post. I've been in a terrible rambling habit of late.

Then I'm going to go with 11 sequences composed of 24 shots. All the same, my fingers will bleed and my drawing tablet will cry if my computer doesn't blow up first and all my layout bond burst into flame.
2D and 3D at the same time actually.
Animation II, I get to mess with a combo of both but light on the 3D and the stereoscopic thing is all it's really referring too.
Computer 3D Graphics II, I get to make a world (again) and this time animate the junk in it. As a fun easter egg, I've already hidden my dragon from my Ani II class in the scenery of my Graph II class.
Plus Video/Motion Graphics III, and my History of Film and Animation class.
So yeah...the stress pile is huge already. Espcially when you're sick for a week and can't really do anything but take nausea meds and sleep.
Ranting is soothing, long posts accepted.

24 shots then, a lot of work when you have so much else to do.
Yeah, sounds pretty typical. Jam as much info as the can down your throat in the shortest amount of time possible.
It pretty much just gets worse until Grad.
Ooo, and yeah being sick totally sucks. I had a roommate with a very weak immune system. She'd be home for weeks...it was tough on her and her grades.

As I said, fingers will be bleeding, despite what shortcuts I'm planning to take. Tis the way of animation I suppose....why do I have to love it so.
The level one classes were the jamming...now its just WORK TILL YOU DIE WITH PORTFOLIO QUALITY!
Except Video III, that woman finds more and more to cram in knowledge wise every class. Give me a break, my head is going to explode after my fingers start bleeding.
Eh, good thing I graduate in May...it's gonna be hell till then.
As far as sick...well I can miss class 4 more times, so I'm good.
