"Alright then." Allen tossed a pokeball into the air, revealing a Volcarona. "Ubella, let's head up to the Frost Cavern." He hopped onto her back and on his way up he looked down to another Pokeball he held in his other hand.
After a long moment Ubella cried out and shot a stream of flames at a huge mass of snow and wind whipping around ahead. "What the...?" The small burst of wind dissipated, but one could still see ahead that a huge blizzard was whipping around, "Let's drop to the ground make it from there. Though I wonder why this blizzard is so bad." He sighed, pulling out his TADS and sending a message to Maddy reading 'did you guys have to head through a huge blizzard in front of the cave??', "Ubella, you stay near." She nodded and they headed in. Every now and again, Allen could hear the whoosh of flames shooting off to keep the blizzard from blowing them back of off track.
It had been a while before he could see the opening in the distance, he thought he saw a glint of bright orange leaving the cave though... "Seems like Flare is here.." He muttered.

"Let's go with this one." Maddy said, walking over to the hole that Ginji had chosen.
It slowly sloped downward, the area getting colder and darker. Maddy took a flashlight out of her handbag and flicked it on, brightening up the path a little more.
Suddenly, strange noises began to travel up the hole towards them.
"Huh?"
A herd of Pokémon emerged from the darkness.
"Well, damn. Everyone, fight a Pokémon or two!"
[Reserve. Catch one if you want to and haven't already.]
Maddy sent out her Frogadier as a Haunter floated up to her.
"Dark Pulse!"
Thanks to Protean, Frogadier changed from Water to Dark-type. The pulsations of dark energy hit the Ghost/Poison-type hard, dealing a decent chunk of damage. Haunter retaliated by throwing a glob of shadow energy at the frog-like Pokémon, but it hardly phased him.
"Another Dark Pulse!"
This attack was the finisher. Haunter fainted and was replaced by a Bergmite. Maddy recalled Frogadier for her Charmander.
"Flamethrower!"
A burst of fire erupted from the lizard's mouth, engulfing his icy foe. Bergmite took quite the bit of damage. It angrily retaliated with Take Down, recklessly tackling Charmander. It hurt itself a small bit in the effort.
"Fire Fang!"
Charmander's fangs shone with fire as it bit down hard on Bergmite, finishing the battle. Maddy recalled her Pokémon and waited for the others.

"Wailmer! Surf!" Colton yelled as the giant ball of destruction flooded the arena with water and the duo of Dugtrio that were skimming around the battlefield were drowned out of their holes. Together they attacked with a lightning fast Magnitude 8.0 and KO'd Wailmer with a tsunami made of its own water.
"Good job Wailmer, don't let me down Drifloon" Ginji yelled as he returned Wailmer. Next, Ginji sent out Drifloon to finish up the foes with a Shadow Ball, ripping through the water and striking the Dugtrio one after the other with sniper precision. The Dugtrio that remained attempted another Magnitude, but Drifloon was unaffected as a second Shadow Ball took the opposing pokemon out.

Caleb's eyes grew huge as the herd of pokemon came their way. Haunters, Cubchoos and Beartics. Was that a Piloswine? He rushed forward when he suddenly tripped and fell. He turned and looked back to see a Bergmite wincing. Tripping on it had knocked it onto its side. It was currently trying to get back up.
Caleb rubbed his face. Well it could be worse. He sent out his Mudkip. "Use Tackle!" he ordered. His Mudkip ran into it, knocking the little ice type back on its feet. "Water Gun!" Caleb ordered, not waiting for it to recover. After his Mudkip had shot the water attack at it, Caleb threw a poke ball at it.
He turned around just in time to see a Haunter. It grinned at him before sticking its tongue out at him.
"REALLY?!" Caleb shouted exasperatedly. He looked back at his Mudkip before sighing and calling it back. He sent out his Trapinch instead. "Use Crunch!" he ordered. After another Crunch and weakening it enough, the hurt Haunter faded away. It had retreated somewhere else. Caleb called back his Trapinch and folded his arms.

A Piloswine appeared before her and Rose called out her Frogadier "Hydro Pump" she ordered, gesturing towards the charging Pokemon. Frogadier's Hydro Pump struck swine hard, lifting it off the ground and propelling it into a wall of the cavern.
"Rock smash, before it recovers." Rose ordered.
"Aaaadieeer" her Frogadier obeyed, charging and attacking Piloswine before it could get upright, then Rose threw a Pokeball at it.

"It's so cold in here. Achoo" Yamato sneezed. At that time, a Cryogonal appeared from the ceiling and attack him with a Blizzard. He jumped out of the way and threw out a Pokéball.
"Come out, Koji". The Machop emerged from the Pokéball. Yamato commanded him to use a Karate Chop. Koji's hand glowed white ane smashed it on the middle of the Cryogonal. The Ice type then became angrier and shot out another Blizzard. The Machop stood firmly on the ground and endured the attack.
"Koji, use Power-up Punch"
The Fighting type focus all of his energy into his fist. He jumped at the Cryogonal and punched directly at it, knocking it out.
"You're great, Koji. Let's join the others". He returned the Machop into his Pokéball and ran deeper into the cave.

The blizzard died down just a bit and Allen could see a horde of Smoochum emerging from the cave. Allen quickly pulled a jar of Honey from his Bag and poured a little out into the blizzard. The Smoochum slowly came to a stop and began pulling toward him. "Alright Kell, your turn to shine." He held the ball up high, so it wouldn't get lost if he tossed it, there was a bright flash of light and the hyperactive Pawniard landed in the snow. He bounced around a bunch before settling in one spot to jump back and forth from foot to foot.
Ubella, still near Allen, spun around, whipping up a small inferno help keep the blizzard from interfering too much with the battle.
"Kell, Metal Claw!" Allen called, the Pawniard looked back to him as if he'd been expecting something different, but carried through with the attack anyway, slashing across one of the Smoochum, knocking it out with ease. Three of the remaining Ice types concentrated their Confusion attacks on the Dark type, but the attacks just phased right passed him, The last Smoochum, jumped forward and blew a frosty breath toward, the Powder Snow whipped across the field, chilling Kell out to do damage.
"Night Slash!" Allen called, Kell bounced around in joy, charging his claws with powerful dark energy, he shot forward, slashing at one of the Smoochum, knocking her out as well. The one of the last three inhaled a breath and began singing, but the crackling of the fire surrounding the area and the howling of the blizzard outside of the proved to be too much noise and the sing missed. Another Smoochum blasted another Powder Snow toward Kell, causing very little damage. The last was still trying to hit him with Confusion. "Alright, Metal Claw again!" Like before, he rushed up, slashing another Smoochum down where she stood. The two remaining tried fruitlessly to attack the little claw monster
Finally as one fell to another Metal Claw, the last Smoochum used Powder Snow. The chill pulled frost up around Kell's legs and middle which quickly blocked up and turned to solid ice. "Crap..." Allen muttered, moving over with a Full Heal, spraying at the ice. The majority of the ice melted away, but he was faced with another attack from the Smoochum. She ran forward, violently blowing a kiss. A heart shot through the air, but bounced right off Kell's head ineffectively. "Finish this battle with a Night Slash." Kell zoomed forward, slashing from the ground up at Smoochum. The last little Ice and Psychic type fell away, fainted.
Finally, after that was over, the blizzard had died down to a consistent snowfall. Allen wiped his forehead, returning both Kell and Ubella.
Just inside the entrance of Frost Cavern, Allen could see another group of Cubchoo. He gave a small smile and waved to them, that was Elys' family. Elys the Cubchoo he was sent to catch when he was asked to join Team Aqua... He pulled a ball from his belt to looked at it. "You're released." He held the Pokeball up, a bright blue beam shot from the ball and faded into a tiny Cubchoo, "Hey there buddy." He grinned, kneeling down to pet her head a few times. "I'm so glad you and I got to know one another." He chuckled. She gave a tiny chuckle and looked toward the cave. Then the biggest smile came over her face, "Bye bye!" He gave her another pat of her head and gave her a push to run along to meet with her family.
Allen waited outside for the others to show up.

As they finished up their Pokémon battles, a rumbling sound started up and the cave began to shake.
"A cave in?! Screw Team Flare, let's get out of here!"
Maddy turned to lead them back the way they came, but a few large rocks were already starting to dislodge from the roof of the cave, making it unsafe to traverse.
"Okay, easy way out." She grabbed Tiresias' ball from her belt and released the Alakazam. "We need out of here! Quick!"
The Pokémon nodded and there was a brilliant flash of white light. Everybody appeared outside the cave, safe and sound. The rumbling could not be heard from outside. Everything appeared fine.
"I guess the cave in was only further down in the cave..." Maddy said, sighing with relief that Team Flare had not caused more damage with their drilling. "Let's hope a few Team Flare members are trapped down there."
She pulled her handbag strap further up onto her shoulder.
"I guess we won't be finding out what they were up to... Not tonight, anyways." She turned to her companions. "You guys can head on to Anistar. It's not far from here. I'm gotta check something out."
With that, Maddy ran off, her Alakazam at her heels.

Well, that had gotten nasty pretty fast. Following Maddy with the others, Rose made her escape as well from the cave, not wanting it to fall on top of them.

Maddy was standing by the Anistar City sundial, looking up at the giant crystal as it shimmered in the sunset.
"What secrets do you hold..." She mumbled out loud to herself, bringing a lit cigarette up to her lips.
She blew out a puff of smoke and made her way to a nearby bench, sitting down on it and crossing one leg over the other. Anistar was quite quiet at this time and it was very relaxing. She leaned her head back and looked up at the sky, filled with it's many hues as the sun set.

"I'm reminded about how bad it is everyday." She said, in response to Brian's remark. "Once you're hooked, it's hard to stop. I try not to smoke around others though." With that said, she put out her cigarette and put it back in the carton for later. "I wonder if it's only function is to tell time. I mean, it doesn't really look like it was built by anyone. It looks like it just happened to be here."

So different from the Hoenn region, ehh Captain. Do you know what this sundial stands for though Captain?"Maddy shook her head at Michael's question. "I'm not quite sure. There's definitely something more to it than meets the eye, though." She stood up and stretched; she had been sitting on that bench for a while now. "Anistar is such a quiet city." She noted, looking at the buildings around them. "I like it, but I don't think I'd be able to live here permanently. I feel like not much really happens."
