Tenko slipped his head in the academy opening. He looked around for other. He heard talking but couldn't make anything out. He looked around for a classroom. The first few times the room was a supply closet and then a lounge. He knuckled his forehead as he continued his search. He went to the Admin's office got the info he needed and bowed his way out. To think he was so close he knuckled his forehead once more and stepped into the first door on the left.

Genjutsu always confused him. It wasn't his strong point, and was probably his weakest. He couldn't grasp the fact that something could overpower his mind and make him think he was in pain and actually feel it too. Sure he just told her it had to do with chakra flow to the brain, but how can you change that? He was having problems understanding how someone could form a image in someone's head and give their senses false pain and... he put a hand to his head. Just thinking about it gives me a splitting headache. He pushed open the doors and sat outside and cracked open the book Bumu-sensei had given him. Inside, the book held everything he needed to know on genjutsu. Inside the front cover was a slip of paper with his 'advanced training' spelled out for him. It was definitely advanced alright, but he saw what he was going to be doing, and smiled.

"May as well start at the beginning..." he flipped to the first page. and read aloud to himself, "Genjutsu, Literally meaning "Illusionary Techniques," are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals. However, the primary difference between the two is that the effects of genjutsu are illusory; instead of attacking the victim's body, like taijutsu or ninjutsu, genjutsu techniques manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses." When he read it aloud, it helped make more sense and having small images drawn in the book helped explain it even more. When talking about the mind, you couldn't really teach it through one form. Reading, hearing, and seeing it would be a tremendous aid. Later he would actually do it, the best form of learning.

They are not used as often as ninjutsu because they don't physically harm the opponent..." This was the part he was having troubles with. He looked at the pictures and they showed what it meant. The person would be standing there as if in a trance and be experiencing pain, pleasure, joy, or any other emotion you would wish to set upon them. Maybe I should keep reading and maybe it'll explain it a little more... He licked his fingertips and turned the page over.

He wondered how someone would look in reality. Sure the picture showed it, but really seeing it would add a little fun to it. The senses made...well... sense. The senses were all controlled and processed by the brain. Simply alter how the brain percieves things and you have an illusion. That's how magician's do it!"

He struggled with the large word, but turned to the glossary in the back and found it to basically be your entire brain. So it just restated what it said before about how it effects the senses... Although this gets into a little more detail... He sighed and rubbed his temples. Talking about the brain was some pretty hard stuff. He wondered if the people studying the mind often had headaches like the one he was having.

This clearly made sense. It was what he was trying to learn. If he learned this he could use it on himself under a genjutsu, and/or on someone else affected by it. No doubt the technique would prove invaluable someday and he would keep it up front in his mind. So far he deduced that genjutsu was very tricky to handle and to notice. You had to have a keen eye and a sharp mind. He would definitely need to work on that.

Tenshi read it, but for some reason it wasn't processing in his mind. What does pain have anything to do with it? If pain could get you out of it, then why doesn't the pain through the genjutsu snap you out of it? Ah! Why is this so confusing!! He ran his fingers through his hair and closed his eyes for a moment. He needed to take a break from reading. He felt his eyes pulsating and he swore the words were beginning to jump around the page.

After his brief break he looked at the page again. His breather actually worked with clearing his mind. Duh! It is you that inflicts the pain. If the pain is only in the mind and not physical, then there would be no connection between your senses and your actual nerves. If you did it yourself you would actually be inflicting physical AND mental pain. Satisfied with his answer he continued reading.
"The third option is accessible only to Sharingan wielders. Members of the Uchiha clan can break or see through genjutsu using their Sharingan. Breaking Tsukuyomi is possible with an ordinary Sharingan, but requires a lot of skill.

The third option didn't really apply to him, though it was good to know in case he would ever fight with an Uchiha. He wondered if he ever would... He looked at the fourth option. Someone could train their eyes to break out of a genjutsu. That was hard to believe, but with sharp eyes you could tell that something would be off. Perhaps the color of something or the look of something would throw it off and then you could make your mind believe that what you were seeing wasn't real.

Tenshi thought for a moment. That would be a good jutsu to learn once I have the ability to. I think I should make that one a priority. It can block genjutsu as well as hinder the sight of the opponent. Granted it would take him longer to learn, he would do his best to learn the jutsu. He wanted to be one of the best shinobi in the village. He wanted to be known and help bring the Fubuki name back. Sure he was only a student, but he would prove himself. He nodded his head and gave a smirk to the air in front of him. He was surprised no one else had shown up...

This last paragraph put him in thought. So there were some that were actually rather hard to break out of. He sighed and hoped he wouldn't come across ones such as that, although reading about them made him aware of the potential threat of possibly being under one of those genjutsu. He wished he wouldn't, but odds are he just may. He was a shinobi after all and he should learn to expect the worst. He looked at his sheet of paper and looked at his next step. he would actually begin practicing the Genjutsu Kai. He smiled at the thought of learning another jutsu and got right to work.

Tenshi now had to focus on controlling his chakra and cutting it off from his brain. He did the required handsigns and tried damming the chakra from entering his brain. He thought it was working, but didn't feel any different. He figured if he would have done it right he would feel some sort of change. Granted he wasn't under a genjutsu, but their would be something noticeable. He let it go and felt it first trickle back and found out he had 'cracks' in his damn, which let it enough chakra that would keep the genjutsu activated.

He tried again, more focused than last time. He failed the last time and would learn from his mistake. He made the handseal and focused on boarding off the chakra from his mind. When some would start to trickle he immediately blocked it off, His mind felt a sudden surge as his chakra flow reset. He let go of the block and his chakra resumed the original flow. He immediately had a splitting headache. "Geeze... I hope it's not like that all the time." He held his head between his hands and closed his eyes, afraid that if he opened them, his head would burst.

After his brain had settled down and the pain subsided he attempted it again. He tried blocking off the chakra, but it kept pouring into his head and the aching got worse. He stopped trying and decided rest would be best for now. He closed his eyes and sat on the ground, resting his head against the academy wall. The darkness between his eyelids felt comforting and the peacefulness of the outdoors was inviting. He couldn't stand training indoors. Even if there was a window, it would be good, but nothing could beat being outside.

He made the handseals as before and began blocking off the chakra to his mind. He was hesitant at first, but he blocked it anyways expecting the worst. He felt the surge and the pain. He released the jutsu and some of the pain subsided. It wasn't nearly as bad as before, but it was enough to irritate them. He bet that Bumu-sensei was upset that he went outside so she couldn't view his misery right now. She was probably into the freaky stuff like that....

Tenshi tried it again. He would need to keep at it and better himself. He was doing a good job of it. He was already asked to help out with training the other students after he was finished with his training. It was a good thing to be on her good side, especially one that was further than most of the students. He began blocking the chakra, but he could feel the gaps in the block and shut it down before he wasted too much chakra. He wasn't even fully using the chakra and wondered how it would be actually using the jutsu. It seemed like it would be a lot especially with the splitting headaches this was giving him.

He wanted to finish. He wanted to show his stuff to the rest of the class. He wouldn't give up or stop at anything. He was going to train and be the best. He closed his eyes and focused on his chakra. As soon as the dam went up, the headache came back. He held his held as his eyes jammed shut and his teeth barred. He never had headaches like this. That must be a sign at failing the jutsu. He could feel his heartbeat in his eyes. At least he thought that was his heartbeat. He couldn't tell anymore. The pain began to go away as the time went by.

When the pain subsided he went to it again. The block came easier this time, but the pain only dulled a sliver. The headache came on, but he could hold it longer until the full blown pain came back. He released it immediately. Great it's the sign of failure and success... I better get this done fast to get rid of this pain. He could feel himself getting closer. He had to get through the pain in order to acquire the jutsu. No pain, no gain I guess...

The pain was going away faster now. It was relieving to know that the pain was less and was leaving faster. That meant he was close. Although if he continued to fail, the full pain would be brought on. He didn't want to feel that again. He closed his eyes, relaxing, focusing. He blocked the chakra from his mind until he felt the pulse of energy reset his system. The pain didn't come for a few seconds. It wasn't a sudden pain, but a gradual one. He assumed that it could be part of the jutsu. As he read pain was a way to break it, so this could be as well.

Tenshi tried again, the pain subsiding after a few minutes. He took a few deep breaths before blocking off his mind once again. The pain immediately was brought on and he fell to his knees, holding his head between his hands. He let the block go, but the pain kept racking his brain. It eventually stopped and he gasped for air. He was clenching so hard he forgot to breathe. This just keeps getting worse and worse...

The pain took forever to go away. His head was beginning to ring so loud he couldn't hear himself think. Luckily with time the ringing subsided and he formed the handseals. He blocked the flow of chakra and held it as long as he could. He thought his ears would pop and his eye balls explode, but he felt the pressure release and recalibrate his chakra flow. There was hardly any pain except his right eye kept twitching. I hope it goes away soon.

Tenshi made the handsigns and focused on blocking his chakra, well... more so of his eye twitching. It was bugging the hell out of him. AHHH!!! Stop twitching! He tried rubbing it and putting cold water over it, but nothing could stop the twitching. Frustrated he sat down and would wait it out, seeing as he couldn't concentrate on anything else. Of course something like this would happen... at least I didn't control of other muscles. His eyes got big imagining random outbursts of movement.

His eye eventually stopped twitching so he could concentrate again. He crossed his legs and closed his eyes and blocked the chakra to his mind. He felt the surge and waited for the pain. It took a good 3 minutes before he felt it and then he started releasing it. There was a little bit of aching, but nothing he couldn't handle.

Batsu walked upstairs from the academy basement. Once the light of day hit his eyes, he had to squint. He was down in the dark and now that his vision became accustomed he had to get them back to having a light source again. He stood stationary for a moment before walking outside. Training was in session for the students, so he just sat against the side of the school and watched them in silence.

Tenshi noticed an older student walk out of the academy and squint his eyes as if he just came out of a cave. Well the academy could be considered a cave he thought. He stopped focusing on the male and focused on controlling his chakra. He blocked his mind and felt the pressure building up and his chakra network restarted. He broke the jutsu and let the chakra flow back into his mind. He placed a palm o his forehead to cool it off.

He felt his chakra weakening, but he wanted to keep going. He made the handseals and held them together. He clenched his eyes tight and focused on redirecting the chakra out of his brain. He felt the surge of chakra and released the genjutsu kai. The pain had dumbed down to a slight ache. He smiled at his accomplishments. He was getting somewhere and he was sure his sensei would be happy.

The man was now leaning up beside the academy wall. It was kind of creepy how he was just lingering around by the students. Well Tenshi was really the only one outside at the moment. He wondered where everyone was at. Surely they would not be on Bumu-sensei's good side. Tenshi may just have to see her blow up at them. He quickly made the seals and redirected his chakra from his brain and let the network reboot. He was getting used to the pain and barely felt anything at this point.

Tenshi quickly made the seals following the last success. He felt it set in this time and felt it click in his mind. He knew he had it right and knew that it would work against a real genjutsu. The little pain that he felt was nothing compared to the first time he tried. He looked up at the young man, who had no doubt stayed overnight at the academy. He looks like a wreck...

Tenshi needed to rest. He had exhausted himself so much that sweat was beading down his forehead and cheek. One thing was for sure, he was going to work on his chakra reserves. If he wanted to do some awesome jutsu he would need to increase the amount of chakra inside him, make his body produce more faster. That was the only way to do it, but for now he would have to make do with what he got. He closed his eyes and decided that a nap would feel good, or maybe just resting his eyes... whichever decided to take over.

He decided that maybe conversing with the boy near him would speed up his recovery, "Good morning.Did you sleep at the academy? I thought I was dedicated. Did Bumu-sensei beat the hell out of you?" Tenshi eyed him up and down. From the look of him he is probably scouting us all out. No doubt I will prove to meet his requirements... I hope... He knew he was ahead by far, but he didn't want to give himself too big of a head to avoid seeming like a p***k. All he wanted to do was rest and contiue on with his training... which was exactly what he was doing. Relaxing with some possible conversation...

This was taking a long time. He wanted to be fully refreshed and ready to go for his next tid bit. Water walking... that would prove to be a fun one. How many people can walk on water? Not very many that he knew. He was about read to jump up and down to start on this training. After that he would be able to walk up a wall! The day was going to get better and better! He folded his legs close to him forming the ram seal. He was going to meditate whilst resting. Why else wouldn't he?
Meditation
The student makes a handseal in order to focus his mind on his chakra. He then meditates and focuses within himself in order to find new chakra pathways within his body that he may not have been aware of before. With patience and persistence, he can unlock these pathways.

Tenshi began meditating, however, his recent discovery of what training he was going to do next was winning over meditating. His mind was constantly racing with thoughts and images of what he was doing next. He wasn't really at a peaceful mind, but that was all he could think about at the moment. His attempt at meditating had failed, but he was glad to be regaining his strength. He wondered if the man was on a squad with anyone. No doubt he was and then Tenshi began thinking about his own squad. I hope Karasu and Hinata are on my squad. That would be the best ever! He began turning a pink at the mention of Hinata. He quickly tried to get rid of it before anyone would notice.

The student makes a handseal in order to focus his mind on his chakra. He then meditates and focuses within himself in order to find new chakra pathways within his body that he may not have been aware of before. With patience and persistence, he can unlock these pathways.
