"No questions," Maia gave Lori a smile. She was ready, wasn't she? They'd gone through virtual Things and she'd studied--she was fairly sure she could recognize any number of fae by species and number.

Lori smiled and nodded.
"Good. Okay. Well if any come up, just call my office. We'll have to figure it out as we go, save the usual bits, and you," Lori paused and pointed at Dari, "You'd better be appreciative, because my mom's started asking when she's going to get grandkids."
And then there came a wonderful sound. Dari laughed. "I am, I am. Very appreciative."

Maia was so happy to hear Dari laughing again, her smile brightened. She closed her folder. "I'll come to your office tomorrow if I have any," she said. She'd be there tomorroww anyway, for lessons.

Lori nodded. "Alright, that sounds good. Boys?"
Toby shook his head and smiled. "I think we're all good."
Dari was still smiling from before. "I can't wait." He paused and then amended: "Even if it doesn't work, even if no one can help, I am so appreciative. To all of you. It means so much that you would go all this way."
Toby patted Dari affectionately on the back and Lori grinned and nodded. "Absolutely. Now, I have to go tell Seamus we're going and set the ground rules."

Maia gave Dari a hug. What did he expect? He was their friend. "Tell Seamus he can visit me at the hotel," she said, looking to Lori. She had no doubt she'd be missing Peaches, away so long.
"After work, do you guys want to go get a pizza?" she asked.

"I'm sure he won't mind," Lori nodded, "Usually we just get a suite so he can go where he likes. We'll just have separate bedrooms with a connected main room. We're federal agents. Everyone's afraid we'll find out they cheated on their taxes if they don't kiss our feet."
"They don't know what to do if you're grateful, either," Dari said as he stood with his file folder.

Come dark on Sunday night, the group had gathered at a private terminal a bit early. Toby had just stretched out in a chair when he sat up suddenly.
"Who the ******** is that?"
The hall was mostly empty, but here came some guy in a t-shirt with a large pet carrier. Something about him looked so familiar...

"Maybe one of Lori's friends?" Maia suggested. She didn't recognize the new guy either, but he had a pet with him so he couldn't be too bad! Maybe he was a third party interest--no, she was sure the fbpi wouldn't allow that.

Lori realized that nobody recognized him and gave an ashamed little sigh. He came closer and raised a hand. "Hey, guys."
"...Lori?!" Toby laughed. "Lookit you, all fresh-faced!"
"Baby-faced," Lori rumbled.
"Hey. You're an elf. You're allowed."
Lori wrinkled his nose. Seamus meowed hello from inside the crate.
Dari was smiling in awe and reached up to touch Lori's face. "Wow."
"I know, right?" Lori said with his first hint of a smile.

Maia laughed when she recognized him. "You look so different! Why the sudden change?" She stood and hugged him, then bent to greet Seamus. At least he was still recognizable. "Are you ready to go, kitty? Its my first time going to Ireland."

"I figure we'll have a better chance with a fae council if I look more fae," Lori said, still sounding dejected.
"You look like the quarterback on the middle school football team!" Toby chimed.
"Thanks," Lori replied, and smacked him in the back of the head. Toby just laughed.
Seamus poked his nose through one of the squares in the wire and snuffled at Maia. He meowed again.
"It's his first time too," Dari said.

"You look fine Lori," Maia assured him, looking up briefly from Seamus. "Very handsome." She poked her finger into a square to pet Seamus. "Its an adventure for both of us."
She stood and straightened. "Don't give Lori a bad time," She said, looking at Toby.

"Thank you, Maia," Lori said with a little nod. He looked out the large windows and saw the small plane taxiing in. "Oh, look. Just in time."
"I'm just teasing," Toby said and then turned out too. Ooh. That was a nice little plane.
Seamus headbonked the grate and gave a little trill. It had taken some convincing to get him in the crate, but he had ended up wanting to see Ireland more than he wanted to maintain his sidhe dignity.

Maia took Toby's hand as she looked to the airplane. She still disliked them, but trips were part of her job description. She was sure the nervousness that came with boarding an airplane would eventually fade. "Ready?"

The group boarded and would find a rather luxurious cabin. The plush seats could be converted into beds considering the time of day and the length of the flight. Their pilot was a fried who greeted them warmly and Seamus was more than happy to come out of the crate and get a good stretch.
"Alright, kids, get comfortable," the pilot said, "We're looking at ten and a half hours' trip."
Toby groaned. He didn't like long flights, no matter how often he had to take them. "Alright. Votes on the first film?"
