Diamond looked back at Freebird and nuzzled the dieing mare. Sadness filled her eyes not wanting to wake up in the morning and find her new friend dead. She folded her legs and gently laid down next to Freebird.

((If you all don't mind I'm going to time lapse through the night and post next as dawn.))
*The herd slowly drifted into nightmarish sleep, one thing on everyone's mind. The darkness faded at one point, the sun lighting up the mountaintops, warming the land. Sepsis awakened first, she looked about at the sleeping herd and quietly rose. She walked carefully to Freebird, her body sprawled helplessly on the ground. She laid down carefully next to her and laid her head on Freebird's side which didn't even move in the slightest bit. She had died during the night.*
*Sepsis stood slowly and walked a few feet from the herd, guilt-ridden and whispered silently to herself, in disbalief.*
Cancer kills....So many innocent..
*Sepsis turned and looked at the herd, she had learned much of how the body works and how to heal or help it. She had often tried to help those Mystekai damned and killed. She walked back to the herd and stepped carefully over Dreamcloud's head. She breathed lightly and stood firmly on the ground, she exhaled more air than she had taken in, and Freebird's body moved slightly away from the herd. She repeated this carefully many times until her body was away from the herd, and Sepsis was exhaused. She walked to the mare and bit the flesh hard, causing it to bleed. She then breathed in again and licked the wound once, exhaling as she did.*
*Freebird's body rapidly decomposed, the coat and skin turning to ash, then the muscle and organs, and then the bone dry skeleton. Sepsis whispered again to the horse-shaped pile of ashes lying perfectly on the ground.*
She's a free bird now..Free forever....

Kipcha woke slowly, she hadn't ment to sleep but had eventualy drifted off. She shook her mane gently, being as quietly as possible. "Where's Freebird?" She looked around alarmed and nickered quietly.

"Dead." Legacy said quietly as he nudged the ashes left of Freebird's body. It was so sad, even if he never got into this herd, and never knew the mare.
Tainted Love whinnied sadly as she trotted over to the herd of horses.

Kaine awoke, his mind still pondering of what this sick-ness was. So he breathed heavly as he was thinking hard.
Nito awoke a few moments after Kaine. Nito shaking his head and crying, but so little that no one could see. I am a stallion after all, I shouldn't be crying he thought.

Diamond who was sleeping by Freebrid's side all night slowly opened her sleepy eyes seeing Freebrid's ashes. She nudged them and nuzzled them softly and snorted. "Poor, Freebrid....I'll miss her." Diamond said teras filling in her eyes.

*Dreamcloud opened her eyes and adjusted to the bright morning sun, she lifted her head and as she looked at all the still and silent, low hanging heads she knew exactly what had happened. She walked closer to Casper and lay down, nuzzling him silently.*
Don't think about it too much, Casper...She can't hurt anymore.
((If any of you were wondering and didn't see where I posted it, she had cancer.))

((I just caught that in your post, angel, but her bones turned to ashes, too after everything else.))
*Sepsis watched as winds pushed the ashes across the grass. Someday a beautiful patch of flowers or a big old willow tree would grow wonderfully here.*

*Sepsis turned and shook it off. It was depressing what happened but there was nothing that could have been done and it was over. She looked to the sky above the mountains in the distance when out of the corner of her eye came a slight glow from the forest. It was the pink-eyed white stallion, he emerged from the jungle, his mane and tail blowing in the eastern winds. Sepsis walked a bit towards him, she remembered he was the sire of her growing foal. The two sniffed each other from head to tail, as if neither of them knew the other one.*

Kipcha watched Sepsis and nickered to her, then turned back to the rest of the herd. "Come, we can't stay here all day. We must move on. There's a nice place for grazing only a little while from here." She knew the herd couldn't stay and morn for Freebird, they had to move on soon.
