((Sorry for my absense, the Router for my compy arrives on wednesday.))
PostPosted: Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:50 pm

Charr drew a bead on a compforce trooper and fired, the bullet spiralling for the man's unprotected head.
As his troopers leveled another cvolley at the Imps, he realized something was wrong.

The Comlink in his ear only now had burst into jammed static, not right after the govenor was shot like he had told Rate to do.

He ripped the device from his head and cast it to the floor, shattering it.
The Imps had had too much time. If any of them had any sense they'd have called for help.

That vac-headed shizno is going to get his a** kicked when I get back...

"Fall back, boys!" he shouted "The Imps are wise to us!"

He yanked Lenler hard by his collar to get his attention and snagged his Blaster Carbine back, slinging his rifle over his shoulder by his strap.
"Time to go, Lenny. Better keep up or you'll be left behind."

With N'gant in hand he made for the door, heading for the stairs.

Cursing as his comm was drowned in static Colonel Akaga slipped it into the pocket reserved for code cylinders and checked his blaster. He swore under his breathe as he glanced back down the stairs, no one was there. Maybe the Lieutenant hadn't heard him in the confusion.

"Frel," Saburo cursed as he started heading back up the stairs. He needed to try and ease the pressure on the people down on the stage, and if that meant loosing his life, so be it.

He kicked open the top door and found himself in the lighting and stage room. flicking his blaster left and right he found it empty. Then he tapped the storage room door which slid open to reveal a number of civilian technicians restrained and bound.

Glancing over to the controls the Colonel's hands found the stage-light controls. With a flick of a switch the stage went dark. With another flick the seating was lit up. Glancing up he saw a rodian and human running for the opposite stairs as well as a large number of other rebels, centered around a wookiee still taking potshots at the darkened stage.

With no gun and caught unawares, Hildegard was forced to make his way off the stage as quietly as possible. Amidst the death and carnage around him, he managed to sneak his way behind the curtain, where many of the Imperial guards were did. He found no blasters here, so he continued backstage. If his memory served him, places like these usually had emergency stocks of weapons, usually wherever security was based...

Creeping his way back, the lights went out. He was now helped even more by this, but he couldn't afford lingering.

Making his way, he found what he was looking for. He slammed his side into the door, knocking it open and running in. Predicatably, noone was in; the guards had all likely gone outside and gotten shot up.

However, he did find where they stowed all their extra weapons. He grabbed a D-44 and a powercell, plugged it in, and went back out. Really, he had no intentions of using it... he just felt safer with one. "Now, to find out what the bloody hell is going on."

Groz looked up at Charr's words, then flashed back, and motioned to his men. They began to push back as they continued firing on the guards on stage. At first their shots had been many and lethal, now they were focusing on pulling out more than injuring the enemy. Grozthar thrust his arm towards the door and his men ducked low, then ran out the door. Groz slowly backed out aiming and firing two shots directly to the throats of two Imps.

((oh for the love of ********. Now what do I do? confused ))

Stupid dirt humping dipsith. Kara fumed as the Colonel ran off like a moron UP the stairs, as opposed to a fire exit whee he would be safely outside. Trusting her re-equiped men to handle themselves, she charged off behind the Colonel, certain that the moron didnt have the good sense to stay alive.

Following him into the control room, she took stock of the situation and began unwrapping the civilians.
"Stay down and wait here." She told them. "We have the situation under control."

The Colonel frowned at the Lieutenant, "Commlinks out..." He glanced at the civilians, "Hey civies... did the rebels leave anything behind?"

Only one of them answered, "Just that black box there..."

The Colonel turned and saw a small case underneath the desk, he pulled it out from under it the table and pulled out his commlink.

There was a little trick he'd learned awhile back from a clonewar's vet. Thumbing it on he held it above the box and slowly lowered the commlink toward it's surface and listened to the static. Then he shut it off, satisfied with the results.

Relieved it wasn't anything more sinister he pulled open the case and drew the blaster. Then pumped three bolts into the device inside. With that done he flicked the commlink on once more, "4th Battalion report!"

"Sir, we thought we lost you for a bit... We're two minutes out."

"Tell the troops to be on the lookout for escaping vehicles. The enemy has already started pulling out of the theater. Current location unknown."

With that he switched frequencies, "Lieutenant Colonel Adder, this is the Colonel."

Jasmir Adder's calm voice came back, "Roger that sir, we're already scrambling ambulances and put out a planet-wide alert. We saw the whole thing in holo."

"I want you to get the new NSM vehicle over here right away, along with four full combat loadouts. Also send an emergency message to Twin Watch Station. Tell them to scramble fighters for an immediate aerial search."

"Roger that," the Lieutenant Colonel replied.

His blood still pumped full of adrenaline he turned to the Lieutenant, "Alright, gather your team... We're hunting these bastards down."

"Hunt them down? We aught to pay them." She remarked in a nonserious tone. "They offed all our political rabble rousers in a single swipe. Saves us the trouble of them interfereing with our work."
She checked the charge of her blaster and peeked out the window, trying to take in the aftermath of the battle.

The Colonel nearly chuckled, but the wounded personnel lying in the darkness stopped him. They weren't all political figures, some were simple soldiers, and one of them was a friend.

"Well you can pay them with some hot plasma Lieutenant, not everyone that was hit was Compfarce." The Colonel responded as he headed out the door and across the back of the theater, his blaster ready and leveled at the opposite stairwell door, they might come back after all.

* * *

Outside, the four 1-L Imperial-class Hovertanks slammed to a halt in front of the amphitheater, their turrets swiveling for targets. Behind them came some forty odd naval infantrymen, nervously moving toward the building. It would be another couple minutes before the ambulances arrived.

Back at Imperial Headquarters Lt. Colonel Adder gave "Twitch" a sharp kick to the ribs, "Get up you caffeine whore! You're heading to the amphitheater, and take five sets of armor with you, including the Colonel's!"

Bakura was standing in the middle of the biggest communication hub ever. The Coruscant Central Power Station. His eyes couldn't believe themselves, his mouth drooled as he began to imagine everyhting he could do here...

Then he felt a kick in the rips and was ripped back to reality. The hard, cold bed on some s**t-ball known as Seya-Qu, with his CO ordering him to drag 5 suits of armor to the amphitheater, including the Colonel Akaga's.

He scrambled out of bed and toward the make-shift armory.

Lenler felt Charr's tug on his collar, but he had already been getting up, so the pull wasn't really necessary. Pulling his pistol out of his vest-holster - he could shoot better while moving with it, he leapt to his feet. The hunter went back on his back, and he was ready to go. Of course, by this time, Charr was already halfway down the stairs, so Lenler took off after him, making sure to be as quiet as possible, just in case.

Charr peaked out a window, his compound eye surveying the scene outside with an all encompasing view before he slowly slid out of sight again.
Rapid movement draws the eye.

Charr wistfully wished he had one fragmentation grenade to lob in the den of newb recruits.
It would send them scattering all to hell, frighten them like a flock of twitchy birds. Then the tanks would be on alert, trying to find the source, one of the recruits would start shooting at shadows, and the resulting chaotic mess would be a lovely distraction.
But he did have his blaster, his rifle, his pistol, and his Commando knife.
Amongst the group of them he aught to be able to think of something.

"Pretty tanks. We should take one." Charr remarked quietly to Lenny as he motioned for the boy to follow him. He turned and started hustling down a corridor he remembered when he helped move equipment for a benefit concert being held at the amphitheatre.

No sooner was Ford back in base and intent on demanding to know why the garrison-defense perimeter was breached, than he was accosted by paniced men. Led over to the holovid receiver he cursed, watching as the show they were all to watch turned into an execution.

He grabbed his comlink and tried it, but he had no signal. He didn't expect it working at such extreme range. "Have they called for reinforcements?"

The comm officer on duty affirmed from the other side of the room, where he was stationed. "The local troops received their distress call. ETA was a few minutes, if that."

He sighed, growling as he went to the comm officer. "Fine. I want a message sent to Hildegard as soon as possible. tell him we had some intruders."

"Uh, do you know how to hotwire a tank?" Lenler asked, his voice a whisper, as he followed Charr down the corridor. "'Cause if you do, I'm all for that. We could probably get out of here no problems, or else just blast our way out."
