Ulani finished with the wings on the back of the kimono and turned it around to stitch Skye's name on it in runes.
"That's a good point, actually," she agreed. "I mean, I won't deny how much I love sweets. Funny thing, chocolate ... Westland elves can have it, no trouble - but Southland elves? No."
She laughed. "Funny thing is, despite how I look - I'm only one part Southlander, three parts Westlander. So it's not poison to me."
She shrugged. "Don't ask me what the difference is."

"Odd..." Kara mused thoughtfully, "It might be a location thing," she wondered about that curiously, "I suppose it makes sense according to where you live. Donovan can't have a lot of diary products like milk or cheese, it's not good for his stomach, his people are like that," she told Ulani, "Because they don't really raise animals to milk, the land is too important for their rice crops."
She smiled a bit, she didn't have any problems with what she ate as far as she knew.
"But yes, that was interesting a bit, alcohol was another thing I told her wasn't good in large amounts because it damages the liver, but I don't think she would suffer from that problem," Kara mused, "It's going to be interesting when Yukito teaches her about diseases, since she's learning healing from him."

Ulani blinked. "I thought she was a healer by nature," she commented, puzzled. "But what you said about alcohol, that goes for all elves. Despite what it does to humans and dwarves, we're not affected by it at all."

"Yukito wants her to learn other menthods, so she can save on her energy," Kara explained, "And also to know better what she is healing than just simply healing," she replied, "That was the idea anyhow, besides diseases is something most of the time you can't see until it becomes quite bad."

"That's true," Ulani nodded seriously. "That's very true ..."
She paused. "I would assume then that she's learning about more than just the races I know?"

Kara nodded absently, "Yes, or at least will try to be given the basics on most of the races, fortunately for the most part anything like the two of us don't different highly... unless you include extra body parts like wings."
She chuckled a bit at that.

"Ah, Elnara's bright," Ulani smiled. "She'll catch on quickly for all the races, I'm sure."
She finished the first kimono and held it up to show Kara, turning it so the angel could see both sides. "Well?"

Kara studied it, it was lovely work, "That's so pretty," Kara smiled looking at it, reminding herself she had to make holes for the wings.
Otherwise it was going to be dificult to wear.

Ulani smiled and put the kimono down, then reached for the other.
"So what else has been going on with Elnara? She has children, is learning about healing ... what else?" She was curious to know about her young relative's life, not only because of what had happened or because her mother spent so much time here with her and Ulrich, but also because she was off in a completely different world, with different people, a different lifestyle.

Kara looked thoughtful as she tried to think of everything that had happened, "Well.... Elnara spends a lot of time helping out in the cafe, it's similar to an inn, only people only go there to eat, not to stay," she explained, "She spends a lot of time learning, since most things are written in English, and there is still school."
Kara wondered if she should tell Ulani about the flowers.

Ulani was impressed. "Sounds like she's keeping herself busy," she smiled. "That's good. Does she meet many people at the cafe, then? I know inns are usually busy, and if people come just to eat then I guess it might be even busier, wouldn't it?"

"I'm not sure, I don't think many, if I recalled that was the quieter parts of town," Kara replied, "I know she's met a few new people," she admitted.
Some which have caused a bit of grief but she wasn't sure ot mention that as well.

"Any elves?" Ulani asked, raising her eyes curiously. "I don't know if there are any in your world ... are there?"
Now that she was thinking of it ... that was a good question, one that hadn't been answered on Kara's previous visit.

"There are," Kara replied with a firm nod, "Though I don't know how much like they are to the elves here," she admitted, "But I've met a few, like the one at the library Donovan took me too."
If only she knew why Donovan wanted to go there in the first place.

"Oh?" Ulani was curious about that. "What are they like, then?"
She smoothed out the second kimono and continued working on the embroidery. She had an idea as she worked, and the wings on this one were going to end up slightly different from the other.
