The rest of the crew merely shifted pose to adapt. Stratford was descending the stairs as it hit hyperspace and didn't even pause. He'd been born in space.

When the ship steadied, Arianeira stood up again. She had decided against sitting where she was, and instead wondered wistfully whether she could find a place where she would manage to hide from Stratford from the duration of the trip. She was beginning to regret asking him for help and wondering how she could extricate herself from the situation. With this problem in mind, she set off to explore the ship.

Unaware that she was being followed, Arianeira traversed the deck, walking the whole way around it and then climbing the stairs and looking around. Her initial curiosity was fading and upon sight of a very small room that was well-hidden and currently unoccupied, she slipped inside. There were no chairs but she sat cross-legged on the floor happily, letting her thoughts wander.

Stratford entered just behind her, arms crossed. He paused at the vacant smile. He shivered as a wave of care swept over him. Did she know how beautiful that smile was to him?

Without really intending it, Arianeira's thoughts began to calm under an external pressure. Curious, she watched passively for a moment, allowing it entry, as she slipped into the trance, mind blanking as she watched the scene unfolding before her. There was a large patch of darkness without stars that seemed unnatural, as if something had been there before but had been taken away - or destroyed. She somehow felt that the presence she was seeing through viewed it as an enemy, but she got no impression of who they were. The eyes shifted, turning back to the doorway. She assumed it was some sort of ship, but the shape was dark and she couldn't make out an outline. He slipped inside and the scene shifted... she was further away and watching the doors close, terrified at what had happened. There was a jumble of images inside the creature's mind, but Arianeira couldn't understand them. The creature's thought were incoherent; hysteria seemed to be setting in and Arianeira pulled away from it instinctively, blinking as her own mind retook control, adapting to its former surroundings. She jumped when she caught sight of Stratford.
"How long have you been there?" She blurted without thinking.

Stratford smiled, eyes on her, "Only a matter of minutes, my dear," he said softly.

"Minutes?" She repeated, wondering how long she'd been out of it. She looked up again, "How are you?" She asked softly.

"I'm fine." She suddenly became conscious that she was sitting on the floor and stood up hurriedly, brushing herself down. "I was just thinking." She added hastily.

"Seemed more like a vision to me," he accused. He didn't care if it was to be secret, if she was having visions, she had to be more careful.

James lifted an arm to stop her. He used the other to tap the computer in the room so it would read his neural implants. A cell appeared in the middle of the room. "You're going to talk to me. Get in the cell."
