It seemed his little nap had done the rick as he got back to doing the hand seals, his next one flew by once more without much thought. He would have to remember to take his sleeping pills and not stay out all night training again. He smiled softly as he moved onto his next seal. He had gotten pass three and his forth went by without a flaw, his hands were a little shaky, once more probably caused form a lack of sleep. But he threw thoughts of sleep out of his mind, maybe on a weekend he would get some sleep... Or if he got a chance sometime during class. He had a few pills on him at all times just in case he was stuck somewhere for a night so he would be stuck gazing at the stars for nights in a row.

Roll = 14 - 1 = 13 [[Pass]]

He had moved onto his fifth hand sign and was making great progress at the time, he had gone and memorised five of twelve hand signs in less then a few minutes. He was pleased with his progress, these where not very hard hand signs, but it was a pain in the neck for him to read. He disliked it thoroughly unless he read of his own will. Bordem was once more starting to get to him... He would make sure to get some shut eye after he finished hand seals... Assuming he wasn't the last one done he should have plenty of time to saw some logs.

Roll = 13 - 1 = 12 [[Pass]]

Reassured in his ability to do this he began working on the next seal, monkey he did believe. He looked at the book mimicking the hand seal, he placed on and over the other in a link like form moving his pinkie and thumbs so they fell on the side of the palms, it was a relatively simple hand seal and was an easy one to remember, he felt a little silly for falling asleep earlier but was sure that the teacher would not mind, if nothing else he could weasel out of trouble with his comedic and boyish charm.

Roll = 16 - 1 = 15 [[Pass]]

His next hand seal seemed to be an ox, he had seen this hand seal used very little in jutsu combos, but each seal was necessary. He put out his left hand parting the fingers on the left hand, with his right hand he placed his hand in the odd "rock out" like sign and messed his two hand together, he did not know what to do with his thumbs so he just fiddled with them till he felt comfortable and could leave his hands in the same position without trembling, Now see... This isn't so hard once you get the hang of it. He smiled to himself pushing his hat out of his face so he could continue to his next seal.

Roll = 12 - 1 = 11 [[Pass]]

This process was very slow, regardless of how fast a pace you went. It was tedious and dull... And did not fit his liking at all. But he bit his tongue to keep quite and went on to the next seal, the Ram. Now see this one was more common of the hand seals when it came to single seal jutsus. He fallowed the picture to the dot making a near perfect example of a ram seal, his hands were shaky, but that was because they were starting to ache from all the work they were doing. He sucked it up shaking his fingers swiftly and to relive a little bit of the pain.

Roll = 17 - 1 = 16 [[Pass]]

The next seal was the rat, another commonly used single seal. He figured it would look much like the Ram seal and simply glance at the book to confirm his suspicion. He had been right of course, but the modifications where suddle, and hard to find. he took the time to make a mental list of how the Ram and Rat differed so he would not screw up, or get them confused. Once he had finished he tried to make the Rat seal, but as he looked form book to hand he found it was more of a half Rat half Ram seal, thus for not nearly what he wanted. Hmm maybe this is more difficult then I first thought. His mind raced to make correction in his form.

Roll = 3 - 1 = 2 [[Fail]]

He was getting the hang of these seals and meeting new people all was good. His pace was quick enough not to lag behind and slow enough to really understand what he was doing. He turned a page and started onto another seal, manevering his hands until they mirrored the picture provided. He started to think how school wasnt as bad as his folks had made it out to be.

Roll: 11 + 0 = (Pass)

He seemed to be doing quite well his pages turning ever more quickly the deeper he got into the handsign book. Infact the ease at which things were going seemed to be quite boring. He knew the task was important but now that he had started it wasn't as hard and just became sort of a chore to perform. He ransacked his head for things to do to make this process proceed more smoothly.

Roll: 17 + 0 = (Pass)

He pondered for quite a bit to think of things to do. He had many restriction on what was possible, for he needed his hands for the task at hand. As well he couldn't disturb his fellow students or have the teacher forcing more work on him if he appeared to be slacking. He needed something that seemed almost impossible to do, something quiet that didnt need his hands to do. As well it couldn' be flash. What would fill all of these requirements?

Roll: 19 + 0 = (Pass)

He considered humming to himself but that might be too loud and disturb they others and draw attention, which were his two major concerns. No, he needed something less obviously would not work. Something he could do in his head and at the same time not fill up his head.

Roll: 18 + 0 = (Pass)

Recalling past stories was another option he had used before but this exercise required more attention. He needed a less involved subject, something that would not over occupy his mind. Something simple yet captivating enough to hold his mind away from monotony.

Roll: 11 + 0 = (Pass)

He heard a cough and turned around to see its source. No one admitted it and he don’t even think they noticed him looking around. He dismissed it as the wind or something of the like and moved on. He began to finish the hand sign he was doing and he attempted to think again. He stopped looking down at his hands.

Roll: 3 + 0 = (Fail)

The hands before him looked nothing like the picture; he must have made a mistake somewhere. All that thinking and fussing over something to distract him certainly did just that but not in a good way, not at all. He’d been too distracted to concentrate and look where that got him.

Roll: 10 + 0 = (Pass)

Although looking at the book a bit, he seemed to be much farther than where he was almost six or so hand seals far than before. And he had not even realized as the time went by, what seemed to be mere mines must have been at least fifteen. So in a way his lack of concentration wasn’t all bad.

Roll: 13 + 0 = 13 (Pass)

[A little longer posts would be better Rhiko XD Like for each roll at least 3-4 lines.]

As Razputin fell asleep, Sensei frowned. He was about to do something when suddenly the boy's head fell onto the table again much like when he was escaping the genjutsu. Unable to suppress a wry smile Sensei decided to let that slide, for now. He started to look around to monitor his students' progress, and to his surprise he discovered that Sanabi was finished already. Sensei didn't say anything though. If the boy wanted something else to do, he would have to learn to speak up. Looking away, his gaze soon fell on Samego who had not even started yet. Making his way to the shark boy Sensei asked, expressionlessly as always, "Anything wrong, Hoshigaki?"

Samego had noticed the new student full well, but decided against any real communications with him seeing as how he was both to tired, and really didn't care. he looked at the teacher with his eyes somewhat closed, making sure to express his sheer annoyance with being singled out, and stated with an 'I get it' tone, "Nothings wrong, just give me a sec." He just walked to the collection of books and looked over all the handseals. He tilted his head trying to understand the positioning of the fingers on the bird, and ultimately decided, 'I think I'll start easy...'
Roll: 2-2=0

He looked around the page for the easiest handseal to perform and quickly found the most simplistic. He laughed to himself and said in his own mind, 'If I couldn't do this than, I don't think I should be here.' He studied for quite literally a second then, with authority, place one hand upon the other. He smiled a little, knowing full well that he had now completed the dog handseal.
Roll:17-2=15

After the mastery of the easiest handseal he quickly scoured the pages in search for the next easiest handsign to learn. His search was relatively short seeing as how the handseals were not 2 pages apart from each other, and the handseals were all in order of animals in the zodiac so it was easy to pick and pull the easy ones out and still know where the hard ones are. He found a seemingly easy seal, and with a relatively small amount of effort he formed the horse seal.
Roll:14-2=12

The next handseal seemed to come with a great deal of effort, not in the actual performing of the handseal just what it looks like. He searched through the books for something else to try, when he found that the hare handseal was missing from his book. Samego may not have cared about that particular handseals, but he considered it a challenge from some unknown force. 'Oh, you are on unknown force!' he thought to himself with a fist raised, a symbol of his vendetta against the missing page.
Roll:1-2=-1

He searched through the pages of other books, and sure enough he found it. 'Oh you thought you had when you alluded me in the other books, but now... NOW YOU ARE IN THE PALM OF MY HAND.' he thought as he literally had the page in the center of his palm. He glanced over the page and studied it for a good while before finally understanding it enough to complete the hare handseal.
Roll:14-2=12

This streak of handseal mastery seemed to go to Samego's head relatively fast. He had become overconfident after just getting 3 handseals, hard to imagine what it would be like if he had mastered all 12 in that time. For all he knew, he might have even tried to take on the teacher. He scoured the pages of the books now looking for the most challenging that he could manage. 'crap...This is complated...'
Roll:9-2=7

He stared at the page containing the handseal as if it had the most elaborate decryption known to shinobi. His head was tilted as he thought to himself, "Is that a thumb?!" He meshed his fingers together and tried to make the bird handseal but that really didn't seem to be working.
Roll:9-2=7

As he meshed his fingers together and as they intertwined he became entangled, and actually stayed as such no matter how hard Samego pulled at them. 'Well this is embarrassing...', Samego thought to himself, as he pulled even harder to undo the convoluted mess of fingers. 'Hope no one noticed that one...'
Roll:3-2=1

From the mess of crossed fingers Samego seemed to reap some benifit, for as the tangled mess of thumbs and pinkies began to unfurl he noticed that it held a shocking resemblance to the actual handseal. With a look of disbelief he turned his head from the page to the tangle that was his hands. He shrugged his sholders and said softly, "Good enough."
Roll:19-2=17

As he wrenched his fingers free, he turned his attention to a different handseal. Samego searched the pages of the book trying to find one that seemed like it could be managed without having another incident. His search brought him to the dragon seal, which at first seemed like it could be done with ease. But after the first 5 minutes of trying, it appeared it was not as easy as it seemed. "s**t..."

[>< That's harsh Sal ><]

"That's good to know,"
Sensei said before moving on to the next student. However none of the students seemed to need his help. Moving back to the front of the classroom he sat on the table, legs swinging easily. Hand seal learning was always such a pain, but it was a necessary basic that had to be known before almost anything else. Looking at his students again, he noticed that Samego was having some problems.

"Careful with that seal, Hoshigaki," he said. "Your hands are the wrong way round. The right hand should be on top."

The dragon seal was not as complicated as Samego had interpreted, seeing as how the main reason that he found the task of completing it so grueling was because he had the page that held the description of the handseal was currently upside down. "I know I know.." he snapped, and with an indirect angry glare and a quick rearrangement of the paper, he quickly grasp the position of fingers and completed the handseal with little difficult.
Roll:13-2=11

This simple educational experience had how evolved in the small mind of the academy student, into a full scale training exercise to find specifically the easiest of handseals and master them. He scoured the pages in search for one the easier symbols when he stumbled upon possibly one of the easiest of the handseals. And by simply pressing his palms together and pulling his fingers towards the center of his hands he completed the boar.
Roll:16-2=14

His venture continued as he found the next of the easy handseals, searching throughout the book comparing the handseals to one another trying to judge difficulty by the visual the book provided. His laborious research to be lazy lead him to the monkey symbol. And with the crossing of his hands he figured it out. 'Wow... This is going on well... Far to well...' he thought to himself, wondering when there was going to be that sudden bolt of lightening, or the the metaphorical thorn on the rose.
Roll:17-2=15

He tried not to pay to much attention to the gods failure to keep up their part of hubris. He read through the books in search for that strike that was suppose to come from his pride. When he turned back from watching over his shoulder, he saw the image of rat sign. 'Well this looks easy.' he thought to himself, nodding his head slightly agreeing with himself. He closed his hand with the exception of two fingers and wrapped his other hand around the two fingers. The mastery of the rat seal was just another reason for Samego to feel uneasy.
Roll:14-2=18

Samego concentrated on his work, now completely ignoring the fact that he should be getting hit by lightening or something. He moved through pages of the book and found what appeared to be the last of the easy handseals. He sighed as he thought of how disappointing the school was. He was expecting the academy to be a museum of carnage like the academy in the stories that Ojiisama told. But instead all he had done was run, throw, and read; All of which were things that Ojiisama would not approve of. He completed the serpent handseal with little problem, but the image of his upset grandfather now loomed over him.
Roll:18-2=16

The image of his grandfather disappointed was taking more effect on Samego than he expected. Not only was his grandfather the most terrifying
person his warped little mind had ever know, which was like having Satan himself looking down at you. But Ojiisama had taught him everything from fishing to fighting, so the image of him upset implied that Samego was doing something wrong.
Roll:8-2=6

This was distracting, to say the least, and more and more the image became more vivid. It was burning into his mind and vision, and soon it began to be all that Samego could think about. 'Ojiisama it's not my... I mean... Grandpa...', he thought to himself as the pages lay untended to before him. He knew full well that his grandfather was no where near and could do nothing to him, but it was simply a reaction to not meeting his expectation.
Roll:7-2=5

The images of his grandfather were only growing more and more real to him, and soon all he could think about was not letting his grandfather down. He desperately searched through the pages of the books that contained the handseals. 'I'm trying Ojiisama, I..' he thought to himself, only provoking the images of his grandpa. A bead of sweat emerged from his blue skin, he knew what his grandfather thought of those who try. 'You don't try, you either do or make excuses. So you can either get to work or start writing up a mercy plee.' The words echoed through his head, the crumpled old voice was that of burning gravel in an iron pot which always struck fear into Samego's little shark heart. He began to sweat even more as he searched through the pages looking for anything to quail the voice.
Roll:8-2=6

On a light note Samego had found a seal that looked as though it was challanging enough to keep his grandfather's fury, or the memory of his grandfather's fury at bay. "The Ox seal... Ok... Not that bad.."he said reassuringly to himself, trying hard to rebuild his iron-like ego. However, for some reason his thoughts began to drift to those of food and beef in particular. This small instance, was probably the best point to see the quite obvious lack of attention that Samego possessed. It was not five minutes ago that he was afraid for his very sanity, and now he was thinking of sweet delicate veal placed gently upon a warm bowl of rice. It was envious, if looked at from someone else's perspective but didn't get much done.
Roll:2-2=0

When all thoughts of food and forefathers were removed from Samego's head, he looked around. All there was around him was his fellow classmates, a teacher, and the books. There was no omnipotent vision of his deceased grandfather, nor were there dance bowls of delicious meats; All there was, was the present. Which to him,was all there should be. He focused hard and with little effort completed the Ox handseal, just like that.
Roll:14-2=12

With the images of his Ojiisama and delicious delicious beef, throughly out of his mind he found that learning handseals were an easy chore when he put his warped little mind to work. Within seconds it seemed he found another manageable handseal. The ram seal was nothing, and with his attention focused he easily completed the seal. 'Take that basics! I am kicking your a** so hard it's not even funny.'he thought to himself, a sign that unfortunately his ego had returned even bigger than ever.
Roll:14-2=12

It seemed that his exercise was coming to a close, seeing as how he flipped through the pages he saw the familiar seals that he had already completed. It seemed the tiger seal was the only hand sign left that he had not completed, which was saddening in its own way. He concentrated and within the minuted he mastered the seal. Then as a symbol of his triumph he did one sign after the other, in sequence to the order they came in the zodiac. After completing the series he smiled, having his pride at its fullest and a feeling of accomplishment within his heart. His mind was buzzing, never before had he really focused hard enough to over work it. 'Maybe if I try thinking my actions through I can do things more... thr...ough...ly...' His train of thought was stopped as a piece of lint flew by on the breeze inside the cave. He then joyfully tried to catch it, forgetting what he was thinking about and generally just having fun.

Seeing that two students had already finished Sensei decided that it was time.

"Ah. Well, even if you're not finished look at me."

Making several handseals there were suddenly three more of Sensei.

"I'm going to teach you a jutsu today. Can someone tell me what this jutsu is?"

Sanabi stared at the multiple sensies. At first it made him rub his eyes and open them again. He'd seen it before, but didn't quite know what it was called. Suddenly an idea sparked in his head and he flipped through the pages in his book rapidly. He fliped to the index and searched for the word, Clone.

He scanned the pages till he found the referance, Pages, 35, 56, 77, and 120. This is a beginer question so it's got to be in the be near the begining. Page 35 then! On that thought he fliped the page to 35 as fast as he could. He read the title being, "Bunshin no Jutsu"

The pictures made it clear he was correct and he quickly raised his hand, He didn't wait to be called on, however, and went ahead spitting it out, "Sensei, if I'm correct, the name of the jutsu is, Bunshin no Jutsu."

"Correct," Sensei said. "That is what I will teach you today. Before being able to make bunshin you have to be able to mold chakra first, though. So once you finish learning the hand seals use your knowledge. Make a seal. Let the chakra flow. Shape it. Like so," Sensei said making the Monkey seal and molding quite the beautiful little bird from his chakra. Then it turned into a strong, majestic horse and then into a kusarigama.

"Ideally once you reach genin you should be able to do something like this," Sensei said matter-of-factly. "So practice."

Regardless of his increase in pace had been during that time, the truth was his mind was becoming too distracted. The horrible hand seal in front of him was proof of that. He attempted to clear his mind and let out a few deep breaths to get himself back on track. He had to try and make up for lost time.

In this spirit, Shin dove back into the book and began to pay more attention to his work. He seemed to be lagging behind the others and losing concentration again would only widen the gap. He carefully re-read the material for the seal before him, the dog seal. Then after making sure he understood what he read, he stared at the diagram intensely.

Roll: 15 + 0 = 15 (Pass)

Under the intense gave of his eye’s the diagram had no choice but to reveal its secrets so that Shin’s second attempt was almost perfect. He quickly turned to the next sign and continued in such a fashion, reading then re-reading then gazing then performing and repeat. He followed this pattern until there was nothing left to read, all the hand sign had been performed and saved in his memory.

He looked up to see their teacher was going off on to the next lesson. He was glad he finished when he did because he was just in time to here what she was talking about. She asked them to name the jutsu she had performed which created two clone at her side. Shin didn't know the name but thankfully the newcomer answered it for him. He wiped his head, listening intently as she discussed their new activity.

It seemed to be a pretty simple exercise. All one had to do was make one of the hand signs, use the sign to push out chakra and mold it to your will. Seeing as the teacher had used the monkey sign and it was one of the few he felt he could do perfectly, he began with that one. After his seal was complete he concentrated on his hands, willing the chakra to come forth.

Roll: 10 (Pass) CP: 2

And it did come, though a little slowly at first but it did come a bluish glow enveloping his hands. He used his mind like the chisel and the chakra like a pillar of marble, chipping away as its form until only the clearly idenitifiable pair of butterfly wings were visible. Then letting more chakra flow out he altered the shape, causing the butterfly wings to shutter and his body to almost loose control. It seemed such a thing needed to be practiced before attempting it.

Roll: 10 (Pass) CP: 2

Well he was atleast satisfied with his first shape, so he released the hand sign and made another. He figured a variety of hand signs would help him to remeber them correctly and just improve his familiarity with them. He also thought he could possibly do better with another sign if he experimented with all. However the same exercise tried with the dog seal did not go so well. When he tried to mold the chakra coming from his hands it was if the chisel slipped and he lost of that chakra completely.
