"You might want to hire someone who has. Magic is useless against him when he shifts. He doesn't need to live, either..."

"Are we talking an anti magic field or merely an immunity to spells?" Tynan asked, mentally calculatting who he would be getting.

"Immunity." Xaldin answered, nodding. "When he's in his dragon form, it cannot touch him, and even when he is human, it doesn't faze him much."

"I see," Tynan said. "I believe I have the right person for the job then. What type of element is he attuned to?"

"Lightening, with just a touch of earth from his father's side." Xaldin sighed, then shook his head. "It was the earth that did it... hard stuff to corrupt, you know."

Tynan nodded. "It can be very stubborn. I don't suppose lightning's unpredictable and fickle nature helped the matter at all."

Xaldin shrugged, not willing to get into a discussion over elements with this man; after all, he was only a flunky. And so, the mage fell into his pattern of underestimating and pompousness. It was only right, of course, Xaldin decided, at once beginning to walk towards his cave. It saved him a trip downstairs. Though why the man hadn't simply deposited him at home was beyond him. The mage was so wrapped up in that thought, and a hundred others, that he didn't even notice when he began to rant loudly; while his skills were as sharp as ever, the man had obviously cracked.

Tynan entered a seldom used room in his apartment and began writing two letters to get his "hired muscle". Xaldin was right, earth was stubborn and hard to corrupt, but it was also dependable.
