*he lets her hands go and hugs her tightly for a moment. Then he brings his hand to her cheek and tilts her teary eyes to his. He uses his thumb to wipe a tear away*
I don't want to leave either. I know it sounds bad but I'm still not giving up... not yet. It'll just be hard for me. But even if I did die I would find a way back....even if it was just to see you again
*He tries to smile a little... to lift her heart*

Aileen sniffles a little as she lifts her head. As much as TJ tries to lighten the mood, its hard for her to be happy about this. Even a smile seems difficult to do. "Promise? That you'll find a way back?"

I promise, that after everything's taken care of, I'll come back to see you and your mother.
*He leans forward and places a kiss on her forehead and then moves back up*
Tell ya what....
*TJ reaches into his back and pulls out an all too familiar cross pendant with a cracked ruby in the middle, from where Knife Edge had last tried to stab him with the reaver. He gently puts the pendant around Aileen's neck. Even with the crack, the ruby seemed perfect in the light*
It's a pendant that Daddy's had for as long as he can remember. It helped me when I was lost, gave me hope at one point, and even saved my life once. I want you to have it now... maybe it'll give you the answers you want some day

Slowly, Aileen manages to pry herself away from TJ. One small hand lifts to brush away the tears on her face, but more just continue to take its place. When he pulls out the pendant, she drops her hand, her gaze shifting to the piece he holds as she listens to his words.
Feeling the pendant clasp around her neck, she smiles weakly before reaching down towards it and staring at the ruby. She doesnt really know what to say right now, this is really too much for the little girl. Leaning forward, she wraps her arms tightly around TJ and just holds onto him, trying to stiffle her crying.

*He smiles as best he can for her. When she moves to hug him, he wraps his arms around her and pulls her up a little. He closes his eyes and he lets her arms wrap around him, allowing her to rest her head on his shoulder or bury her face in it. He keeps an arm around her waist while the other gently brushes her orange hair*
*TJ only hated himself more now. He was allowing his daughter to get close to him even though he knew that he couldn't keep his words.... he was a different person now. Holding Aileen ran vivid memories of him holding Aeris the same way through his mind. NO...he couldn't let those get in his way.... he couldn't expose himself to the pain of losing her or ther others again. That's why all of this was just an act..... wasn't it?..... to keep Aileen happy until she could be delivered to Aeris....*

Either TJ is really good at acting, or failing miserably. But the fact is, Aileens scared to death right now. With her mother still gone, the only person she has left is TJ. Her tears soak into his clothing as she continues to hug up against him, the sound of her sobbing soon following. It was heartwrenching.
It took her a while to stop though, and as she pulled away, her frown just continued to grow. "What if.. you dont find mommy?"

Aileen sighs heavily, it still pains her to think that she would lose her father. She wants to be with them both, even if shes never seen her mom, shes heard enough to want to be with her. She stares down to her dads hand when he takes her own, squeezing her tiny fingers faintly against it. Tiredly, she leans forward once more and just rests her head against his chest.

*TJ just sort of cradles Aileen in his arms. Act or not, he knew how much pain she must be in. He still held her hand firmly. He looks at Aileen*
Look at me for a minute Aileen. I'm sorry for making you sad and hurt..... if I could help it I would but this is all I can do now. I won't lie to you.... things may be hard on you for a while, but if you can get through it then it'll be over. So.... will you try and be brave.... for me and mommy?

Aileens hand raises once again to brush away the tears from her face. "I'll try.." She finally responds, lifting those large blue eyes up towards TJ once more. But truthfully, she doesnt know what shes going to do right now, like TJ, maybe she too is just acting like shes strong.

Once all of this is over.... and everything's as it should be.... and I come back..... I promise, we'll go somewhere special. Just you, me, and your mother....

Aileen nods and returns to resting agianst her fathers chest once more. More than anything, she needs some comfort from him. Her tired eyes flutter shut as a yawn drifts from her lips. But as a few more moments pass, the little girl slips off into sleep.

*he sighs noticing she's fallen asleep. Now he would return to all of his other thinkings. He felt he needed to get Aileen to Aeris soon... otherwise he may be unable to complete his mission......but was it already too late? He shakes his head and reaches over to grab his jacket. He places it over Aileen and tucks it tight, to protect her from the bite of the cold. Aileen sleeping in his arms, TJ pulls the paopei over his eyes again and looks toward the opening of the canopy.... listening to the rain drop for hours on end*

Kimoru walked through the forest for some time. "Murasame..... the sword of death. I am coming for you... But I will need to find you first. You were here, right under my nose the whole time. What luck! The river.." Kimoru looked into the deepest spot in the river and began to chant a revival spell. A spot in the lake grew shadowy, and then a long katana with symbols on the blade shot out of the water. Kimoru caught it and looked at it. "Yes! This is it! The Murasame!! Now...... who shall I try it on first?" Kimoru walked through the forest for a while, thhen found Tj. ""Well....... look what we have here! Fresh blood for my sword!"
