(Sorry, I meant passive sonar to scan the dragons possible escape roputes from the outside, and wrote ultra-sound, I have no intention of going inside, or sending anyone else in!)

Raven Wrote
Quote:
But she didn't know that yet. That was what the recon team was for. Within ten minutes, the seven squad members who had set up the ambush outside went inside on Red's command... and they had no idea what they were in for. If she wanted to follow and see for herself, that was all right.

They carried with them ultrasound equipment and had their watches tuned to map out the tunnel, along with a biometric reading for each member on the team and their overall position in the tunnels. So the question was...

Passive sonar, its signals sounding nothing more like the scattering of a few pebbles, tracked the cave to a depth of twenty five kilometers, and a rough map was drawn from the findings.
That said, specialized sound wave beacons that would pump a few thousand decibels of high pitched screeching over a narow but long range were drilled into the ground, activated by remote, they'd produce specialized sound waves that were directed to cause cave ins over the dragon's crucial escape routes. This would also serve to wake the beast, and drive it stark, raving, mad. She had something else in mind entirely for the Phoenix mortars. She put the attachment over the barrel of her revolver once she heard the sound wave beacons were ready.

"Okay," Red said, "Wake him up! Now!"

And then, the watches were turned on. Then again, not too many decibels were needed for this creature- its hearing was already top-notch, and though its sensitve ears could pick up something as small as a feather falling from a bird's next, it meant that it had a lower threshold of pain.

Thus... at around 165 decibels, they heard a deafening roar.

Oh yeah, he was awake. And if the dragon's most likely escape routes were cut off, that meant it would go only one way and go there quickly. His garnet-colored irises opened, murder gleaming in the eyes. Whoever was making that noise and disturbing his sleep would hurt... and hurt bad.

He saw nothing... but also saw that his most likely escape routes were cut off. Now take note- this was an intelligent dragon whose mind was being muddled by the constant assault of sound. However, seeing as his options were limited, he threw caution to the wind and decided to pay whoever it was that was holding the oversized alarm clock the business end of his jaws.

Showing his agility, his powerful leg muscles flexed before he leapt forward, launching himself from the pile of gleaming treasures and smoothly landing in front of the only clear exit. The tunnel had a wide berth, and as such he was able to get through without much trouble.

As he approached, the sound continued to assault his ears... and he roared again. Not in pain or frustration, but anger. If he got a hold of the person responsible, he or she was going to hurt, and bad.

So what now? You have a pissed off five-ton freight train coming after your team... and quite fast at that, leaving little time to think.

Decisions, decisions...

In the middle of nowhere there was a massive contruction site.
"Ok, Heaven or Hell nothing, real fighters don't need money to fight."
said a completly black humanoid figure who was obviously in charge.

"Can we hurry it up people, were not all mammels or Nanites, a humanoid reptile said, first looking the millions of workers then his boss.

"Man I am bored, I wish someone try to fight one of us already" said a 10 humanoid covered in hair.

"You know only the best fighters will be able to make it out her, so chances are first guest, won't arrive again for quiet a while." said there boss.

"Err... right then... bye..."

Chris carried on trudging around, mostly looking for a fight. Eventually, he came across some random construction site.

"Hey, you guys know that it's illegal to build here without a permit right?"

The big hairy humanoid walked up to Chris.
"You must be a tourist, there is no goverment in guldor, besides this place isn't for kids, theres a war going on. Oh, crap I wasn't supposed to talk about the war. Listen kid forget what I just said ok?" he replied and his face turned deep red even though, you couldn't see it do to all of the hair on his body.

Chris just stood there and looked badass. cool

"Besides we have many extremly strong fighters coming here for a top secret fighting tournement after were done taking down the Evil orginization S.I.G.M.A. and one of them will surely slaughter a weak kid like you. Oops, I said even more top secret information. " I am lucky the boss doesn't belive in killing people when they haven't done anything majorly bad." He said fustrated and about to knock the kid out and send him away.

"Thats it kid, I Bura am going to take you down and slice and squish your little human body."
He took out 18 foot long sword and swung it surprisingly fast considering the sword was more then twice as long as he was tall.

Chris simply grabbed the things sword hand with his left hand (I'm assuming you're swinging with your right) and twisted, the bone's in his hand and fore-arm would break with a satisfying crack. Whilst doing this, he would yank his arm to dislocate the shoulder and pull the guy towards him whilst he chopped him in the throat with deadly accuracy and force. It would cause his windpipe to dent and stop air getting through to his lungs. It wouldn't be a fatal hit unless the guy carried on fighting, so yeah. Could Bura manage to do something about this whilst he was swinging a ******** huge sword? Almost impossible, what with recovery time and all.

Little did Chris know about the fact that Bura's throat wasn't used for breathing and he was very greatful not to have a tongue in his "Mouth".
With that his natural, but disgusting defence mechanism activated his urin sprayed from his "Mouth", while aiming it at chris.

((Now you're making s**t up, you can't SPEAK without a tongue.))

Ok, that was ******** gross. Chris sidestepped out of the way and avoided all of it. Bura's right arm would now be thoroughly broken and whatnot ((since you didn't mention anything about it)) but in any case, Chris twisted it more and used the sword that was in its grip to try and cut Bura in half by twisting his wrist which in turn "swung" the sword towards Bura's torso.

((Thats not true there are Telepaths and besides..Well you'll find out. What did I say about killing?I belive i said no killing!!))
"Heh this guy is scared of a little image" said the real Bura after jumping down off the second story of one of the buildings they were making.
"Your ran away from a little hologram, it's clear know that your an amanture. Did you really belive there was a species that could spit urine out of there mouths?" he said not really caring whether he answered or not.
"Thats enough Bura let the weak kid go, we have to get back to work. He doesn't matter anymore he failed the test." said Bura's boss.

"Uh, sorry Anu sir,It won't happen again." he bowed down in front of the nanite being.

As soon as the beast came forth from the cave red fired the first volley. The cartridge was aimed over the beast and opened above it. A net was released at exactly the right time, as Red had calculated the distance perfectly. But this was no ordinary net, its threads were composed of razor thin orichalium lined with conductive silver. The minute it landed over the dragons body the still intact cartridge emmited 50,000 volts per second through the via a cold fusion reactor prototype. The shock would only last fifteen seconds but that would be enough. She had already fired the second cartridge, a water magic grenade that would suck the water from the atmosphere and convert snow, keeping the dragon in a buble of water that would serve to magnify the shock threefold. If the Dragon's heart had not stopped already, it would be at least immobilized. It's eyes opened wide by the shock and thus imobilized, the snipers fired at the beast, aiming to blind it.
If it was not dead after this, she would proceed with her second attack plan regardless. If it was alive and managed to break free. Otherwise, it would time for some heavy forensic dentistry.

!!

And the net fired and went BZZZT.

Fafnir let out a roar of pain... but it seemed like he was more irritated than in pain. Then, the water grenade was released, and the dragon was trapped in the water bubble for ten whole seconds. Okay, now that hurt. His eyes actually shut against the pain... and as the snipers fired, all they would hit was the protective skin that had come over the eyes, which were scaled as well. All three eye layers closed simultaneously, and the bullets were deflected.

In the last five seconds though, the legendary dragon decided that it had seen quite enough- these were the ones responsible for his current awakening.

His eyes snapped open, ruby-colored irises narrowing in sheer anger and focused on the woman that had opened fire. She would be his first meal.

With a great strain of its back muscles, the wings unfurled, snapping the net and breaking through the bubble, sending it splashing everywhere and on everything. He roared again, the blast of sound aimed towards Red. Now if there was anything that could disorient one's sound receptors, it was the roar or a bear or a lion, or some other big-assed wild thing that used sound to indimidate.

This was not initmidation. This was a sonic assault.

An almost visible shockwave of kinetic force would blast out at the team. Seeing as he would be far enough away to actually make the roar count and not fear any counter attack, it was a pretty fair bet that this would hurt. Exceeding the Threshold of Pain at 180 dB, her ears would break under the roar's influence. And if not, they would definitely not hear for a while.
