Caroline smiles at Silver. "Nay, nary an inkling. I've surmised as much that the more important people, and more like to be chosen for whotever it is, are closer to yon wee lassie with the hankie. So we've been herded into rings, we have."
Rojiza giggles at Aisrhan and waggles her fingers in a wave. She worms her other hand out of the grasp of the priestess. Thankfully she'd been too big to pick up and hold, so Sweet Priestess had just held her hand. But the white-decorated woman was busy just now, too busy to pay Ro any mind. So there was no use keeping her.

Xpressionless When the talk of motherhood and her son faded, Mirela was lightly ushered toward a tight circle that was forming around a seated priestess; reluctantly releasing Tafari’s hand as she moved. Casting a glance over her shoulder to check upon her child, much because of the faint feeling of distrust she felt toward the white-robed strangers, the young woman breathed a smile sigh of relief and turned quickly as a familiar voice spoke to her. “Irina” she stated cheerfully, gladdened at the sight of a familiar face - the feeling only growing as she caught sight of the figures of Silver and Caroline from the corner of her eye. “The priest I was walking with said that the festival was the time in which the Spirit would choose its bearer, mother, but I don’t know what this is all about” Mirela replied with a shrug, nodding her head in the direction of the priestess with the cloth to emphasise her final words. “What about you? Have the Sect members revealed anything to you? Something that might explain what we can expect?” the teenager asked in reply, brow furrowed as she pondered on what lay ahead of them.
Tafari watched as his mother moved away, golden-brown orbs watching her carefully as she moved through the crowd. He didn’t struggle, although he wanted desperately to follow her, content in his belief that she would return to him soon enough. Familiar faces toward the back of the circle helped to make the separation easier, the centaur infant watching them briefly before searching out his mother once more. "It's interesting that we've been placed here together," Irina said, giving Mirlea as much information as she knew, which sadly, wasn't much. "I'm pretty sure this is when they choose the woman to bear the spirit's child," she said. "I wish I could tell you more, but I was a bit busy before now--I had to search for something that would make Kalpana grow."
She motiioned over to the crowd, pointing out the priestess who was holding her daughter. "See, she's become an infant!" She smiled at Mirela, a most joyous look on her face. "It look some searching, so unfortuantely, I didn't get a chance to ask my priestess many questions. I don't know much else about this process. I should have been asking about more I suppose. Have you learned much about this?"

Lorelei smiled at the woman. "Don't worry, it happens quite often. I'm a bit of a wallflower, myself."
Then she noticed the two cats, tensing and getting ready to pounce. She subconsciously inched closer to Vanna and Amkia, ready to jump in if absolutely necessary. No way was somebody going to hurt her daughter again.
Vanna didn't notice anything odd until when the cats took off, when she squealed and snuggled close to Amkia, squeezing her eyes shut.

Heather was watching the cats, then watching Al and then Amkia, Vanna and Lor. She edged a little closer to her son, she wasn't going to let him get hurt in this fight but she wasn't going to intervine either.
Amkia clung to Vanna as tightly as he could, stroking her hair and smiling at the same time. He was for once happy on two accounts, one Kala wasn't trying to kill him for once and secondly he was with his best friend. So for him, he was happy, and was watching carefully, one day he might be in that little cats place.
Kala wasn't sure what was going to happen but she was a good hunter and this little cat was just another prey to her. This one was just a play toy though, she wouldn't eat it though, he was another kitty.

Altaira looked clam. Inside though, she seethed, wishing she could blast that panther off her boy. Somehow, she figured it wouldn't work just wishing.
Sindri, for his part, was going to try to do as much damage as possible. A bite there, a flash of claws here...in his mind he wanted to be like to be a little whirlwind of pain. Now, while he was seemingly allowed to, and before she scored larger, harder hits. It was a game.

Lorelei glanced over at the other two women. "Aren't you two going to stop them?" she asked, voice unsteady. "What if they hurt one another?"
Vanna still wouldn't look, shivering.

Heather looked back at Lor and smiled a little. "Get in the way of Kala's claws? It would be risking my life, I can't leave Amkia and if Al saved Sindri but was wounded so badly she died, she would end up leaving Sindri. Kala won't kill him. She just wants his respect or something." At least thats what Heather hoped. She couldn't see Kala killing another fortunette, well, at least not yet.
Kala turned, her paws happily on the ground she snarled a little before taking one paw and making sure it was heading towards the other cat, hoping to hit his head but any part would do.

She knocked him down, catching him like that. Shakily he stood up and snarled defiantly. You have not got my submission nor my respect. Need we fight some more? Because this is pointless.
"There's nothing we can really do, not when one of them is a panther - and even a bobcat can do a lot of damage to a person..." Alt just watched the cats; worried, worried and worried. "He won't back down, I think."

X-Men Lover Blood...a sight that was beyond a normal perspective. A sight DeArca couldn't take at all. His TellBook laid against the ground in a pool of its own blood, along with a blood soaked pack. Ash was crawling against the ground, going in circles as he squeaked. he wondered where DeArca was. DeArca was nearby, near the closest trash barrel he could find, his head dunked inside deep as he did the only thing he could do....throw up. The sight of the bleeding Tellbook was more than he could stand and it not only frightened him out of his wits, it made him sick. "Nnn" He moaned, leaving the barrel as he knelt down near Ash. "What have I done, Ash?" He asked, picking up the small mouse as he began to shiver. "I just asked...I..." He stopped, shaking his head. "I'm an idiot...Valleldia warned me in the very beginning...The book is so frail" He said, standing up as Ash squeaked. "Now its useless" He said and took the remaining items from his pack, stuffing them away in his shirt. "We'll purchase a new pack later". He said, looking around. He saw a sheet tossed away on the ground and picked it up, using it to wrap around the Tellbook. He could barely touch it with his own hands. "When we see Valleldia again, we'll see what we can do to fix the book" he asked and Ash squeaked. DeArca walked around. Since he was pulled from the group, he had to take the next step. "The Tellbook said before to ask about the Crystal-thing...so, let's just do that" he asked, taking it simple. Approaching a priestess, he tapped her shoulder. "Miss, could you tell me where to find the Crystallaureate?" He asked, hoping he said it right. The priestes was holding a decanter of clear wine, but she turned to answer the man. "The Crystallaureate? Certainly. Come with me." She then turned and walked around the circles, over to where a group of priests collected near a fountain. They were deep in prayer, but at the sight of the priestess with DeArca behind her, they parted... revealing something extraordinary. A chunk of something- crystal... or maybe ice, though it was not melting- the size of a coffin... and inside, frozen in time, was a beautiful girl with brown hair... and a farmgirl's brown dirndle. It was none other- than Illyana.

Lorelei bit her lip worriedly, reaching out to stroke Vanna's hair. "If you say so... I just don't want Vanna to get hurt again, not with my Banya's talk of 'betrayal on the water'."
Vanna finally squirmed, deciding Amkia wasn't big enough to protect her, and reached out for her mother. "Momma!" she cooed, waving little hands at her.

Heather looked at Amkia as he haned Vanna back to her mother. "I don't think Amkia would allow Kala near Vanna. Not in a million years." She smiled and put her hand on Amkias arm, he was a child now and probably didn't want his mother being all mothering.
Kala ran at him again, this time aiming to pick him up in her jaws, or knock him down, though once he was in her jaws she held his life and that is exactly what she wanted. Then he wouldn't have much of a choice. She just wanted power over him, so she wouldn't stop fighting untill it was obvious she did.

No way. He was ready to leap out of her path, though he stumbled as she clipped his hind leg mid-spring. One golden glance at the women and the other two Fortunettes and he decided he'd try to lead this away. This wasn't their fight. Didn't that thing slow? He must have scored -some- hits. He'd keep trying, keep thinking.
Altaira sighed. "Sorry ladies, I shouldn't have brought him over."

"Illyana!!!!" DeArca said, the shock of seeing her before him being extraordinarily great. He had finally found her...."Illyana" he said, his hands pressing against the crystal as he looked at her within. "Its her...its really her!" He said, beginning to calm down as he took in more of what was in front of him. "But...this crystal box. Priestess, what is all this?" He asked, his hands roaming the structure to find an opening.
"Why is she inside this? What has happened to her? Why isn't she moving?" He asked, his heart full of so many questions in the excitement. But what if this was not to be a time of joy....what if...she wasn't living in there? No air, no space to move....oh no. "Illyana, its me...open your eyes!" He said, tapping the crystal, not knowing if he hit hard enough to shatter it. But if he destroyed the crystal, would it harm Illyana rather than free her. "Its like Ice...she's frozen within" He said, falling to his knees
"Illyana....its me...." He muttered, his face so close to the crystal that it fogged from his breath. "I've searched so far for you" He said, closing his eyes. No, DeArca! Keep running! Those are your people and you belong with them. Find you a family and love them with all your heart!... Illyana's last words from when they were separated apart when DeArca ran from the lumber farm to escape, hoping to find the truth about who he was and his parents. "I did, Illyana....I found a family....a little field mouse, named Ash....I wanted you to see him for so long. I...I haven't found information on my parents, but I'm still searching" He said, his forehead was against the crystal. "Illyana, you've been on my mind ever since we were apart....I've....I've wanted you to see the things I have. Such incredible things...we were supposed to see them together! Do them together! Illyana....please, just open your eyes" He asked.

Still, Lorelei took Vanna from Amkia, encircling the girl with her arms. Vanna snuggled close, burying her face in her mother's cloak.
"No, no... it's... fine. It's just... Vanna's already been hurt by another Fortunette first, and with all the strange prophecies flying around... I suppose I'm a bit overprotective, is all."

Silver found it remarkable that as foul-tempered as Aisrhan could be, this little squirrel-child could make her smile like that, with real happiness. Rojiza was truly a good influence on her. "Hello Rojiza," Silver said to Caroline's daughter. "Having fun, dear?"
