Crumpet Lord Genghis stood outside the party and cracked his knuckles. He chuckled and walked inside, flashing his pickpocketed invite to the guard briefly. After getting inside, he laughed to himself, before looking around for valuables. Whilst doing all the things that would be expected of a party guest, Genghis pockets a valuable or three, then helps himself to some free food.

Johachim bowed again, turned in his heel and left, obviously in a rush to get his information, and leave the party. Johachim walked into the main room, and searched for Grant, trying to remember where Mr. Lannen had said he'd left him.

The Magical NPCman Grant was on a chair, right outside the ballroom, holding his head in his hands as he tried to keep it from spinning. Johachim swore gently under his breath, produced a business card from inside the breast pocket of his shirt, and slipped into the pocket of Grant's suit overcoat.

Draqx The Magical NPCman Creedy just stared at him, "really now, hmmm, would've never believed that one." He had no idea what the guy was talking about, but he shrugged it off. "So what's your name magic-man?" The figures grin increases as the shape leans forward, the light sparkling in the eyes and the polished Tigers Eye cufflinks. 'Magic, oh no. I just dabble in the art of misdirection, for personal reasons. I have yet to personally encounter real magic. Things that can't be explained in any way at all. As for my name... you can call me Draqx, it will serve as well as any other.' Creedy smiled, "Nice to meet you, Draqx, nice indeed." He tossed him over his card, "if you're ever looking for a job, let me know, I could make good use of you in one of my films."

Grant passed out soon after, his mouth hanging open as he snored.

As the party goers seemed to be each doing their own thing, a figure walked into the ballroom. It was Clair's Nanny, so few people payed much attention. She moved through the crowd clutching a worn jacket closed, like she was freezing. She let her mousy brown hair hang loosely in her face, her eyes darting in different directions behind it as she made her way towards the buffet table. She paused in her tracks as Louis Creedy came into her view. With oddly jerking motions she pulled a gun from behind her jacket.
The two shots rang out through the ballroom. They all stilled, frozen in place, like statues, all except Creedy who slowly crumpled towards the buffet table, two red circles above his left ear. The body crashed into the table and the panic began. Officers went for their disabling guns, women screamed, and four more shots rang out. The Nanny collapsed to the floor, the last shot delivered by herself to her head.

McKinnley woke up in the library, his head throbbing, but as he heard the gunshots a smile spread wide across his face. He spread out his hands and counted down, there were only a few things left to place, a few left to kill, and then....he closed his fist and concentrated, it started glowing with a pale light. With a loud laugh he tapped his fist gently against a bookshelf, and then watched it crumble like it had been hit by a wrecking ball.

Blitz jumped at the sound of the gunshot, his hand immediately going to the pocket on the inside of his coat and grabbing for his knife. But after realizing that the shot wasn't at him, he took his hand from his weapon and joined in with the crowd to see who had been shot.

"Nobody move!" Melbourn yelled as he walked to the body of the Nanny, careful not to slip in the blood. He checked her life signs, however unnecesary it was. She was indeed dead. He slipped his hand in the pocket of her jacket, knowing exactly which pocket to search. He pulled out the expected note, and pretended to read it, already knowing what was written on the paper.
He turned around, and called over Carter and Brooks. He spoke louder than necessary, letting the party around him hear. "It's confessional, she was being blackmailed into it."
Brooks raised an eyebrow, "Who'd want to shoot Creed?"
"Clair Reubens.... apparently he found out she was Ruby St. Claire."

Laurel also jump at the shots, and when she saw Blitz in the crowd, she squeezed in beside him. "Did you see what happened?"
