I hated Cait Sith, I was so happy he died at the Temple of Ancients only to be crushed when he reappeared as Cait Sith two. sad
And his voice was really annoying in Advent Children

I hated Hojo the most... but If I ever choose to play FFVII again, it might be someone different.

Palmer, I hated Palmer. I was so happy when he got hit by a truck

Strife. Cloud Strife is someone I love to hate. Why..?

-He lost himself and was too chicken to find himself; Tifa and Aeris and Sephiroth ALL had to help him. Oh right, Jenova too. ...

-He is highly indecisive in his decisions; the only reason he joins AVALANCHE is for money, the only reason he is going to "destroy" Sephiroth is because of an incident from the past that he cannot even remember correctly.

-He doesn't know what he wants; he lets the rest of the characters guide him the entire time, be it Cait Sith, Jenova, Tifa, Aerith, Cid, Barret, Dio, Rufus ShinRa, Elena of the Turks.....

-He isn't exactly portrayed as the sharpest crayon in the box; my favorite example of this is perfectly illustrated in Advent Children in the scene in the Sleeping Forest with Vincent - "What do you mean by.. intruders..?" How hard is it to grasp the concept of intrusion?

-He is highly unskilled; no matter what storyline tries to tell me that Cloud is a good swordsman, I will not accept it. The only thing I consider original cannon story is the the original FFVII game, and even that doesn't match up with itself. Anyway, he just.... swings that thing around with no care for aim or accuracy, not to mention no matter what he takes on from Zack, there is no way he can instantaneously wield a sword such as the Buster Sword.


I also do not like him because he is so dead set against Sephiroth for all the wrong reasons; he hears Jenova but does not know what to make of it. He could have learned through her, and thus... done something more with himself, but he does not. Mind you, my favorite characters are Jenova and Sephiroth.


Neither do I like Aerith. ..Or Tifa. They both are much too superficial in their love for Cloud and kindness for everything and everyone. Perhaps I am just too jaded to appreciate it. Nor do I like Aerith for her praying for Holy. Sure, in the end Holy helps destroy Midgar and fuel Meteor, but that isn't enough. It was what her character was written to do.


Also - anyone reading this that has decided they hate Sephiroth solely because he "ruthlessly" killed the girl that was waiting for her own death: I would greatly appreciate an actual reason. The point in killing Aerith was to rid Strife and gang from being able to use Holy, and was designed so that the gamer felt sympathy toward their cause. Tragedy to pull everyone together; worked rather well, didn't it?

If you don't think that something like that is possible, look at it on a slightly grander scale; think of the US after 9/11. All those people coming together and all those people going to churches... Everything. Shame it didn't last, but that wasn't my point.

As for the others that added that he desecrated Nibelheim: who's to say ShinRa didn't set it all up in the first place? Sure the town was on fire, but if you pay close attention to it, the only people that were really "attacked" were the ones who stood in his way, not everyone there. Not to mention the entire war with Wutai - I imagine he killed plenty of far more innocent people during that time period and was called a war hero for it. No one said he liked that, but not many seem to try and see Sephiroth as the person he was, instantly - or almost instantly calling him a monster for having a difference of opinion on the world and humanity as a whole.

Isn't that a little... Hypocritical Selfish?
