Dinin nearly choked from laughing so hard at Rikku's words. When he finally stopped he stood up straight, bowed, and apologized for his outburt of laughter. "That was a good question though Kai," Dinin said when they reached the dining hall, "Have you ever even liked a girl?" He grinned despite the fact that Kai punched him in the gut.
Dinin walked back to the entrance and took off his hoody to reveal a fancy white button-up shirt with the top two butons unbuttoned and the sleeves rolled up as well as a slightly loose blood red tie. He shook as much of the water from his hair as he could before rejoining the other two just in time to hear his brother ask Ellie: "So, is there any reason in particular as to why your sister is always drunk?"

Ellie blinked as she looked up to Kai and then over to Dinin when he approched again. She stepped forward a bit as she reached forward and ran her fingers against Dinin's ears, not able to help herself as she wanted to feel them too. "Pressure" she responded to Kai, as she gave Dinin a small grin and rubbed them lightly, too embarrased to keep at it as she let go and leaned back against the wall again. "She was really smart when she was a little older than me, but then it just started with her heart getting broken. She was so close with this guy, they were young but even making plans to go of to collage together, as far-fetched at that seemed. She ended up walking in on him...sleeping with one of her old friends, after that she swore she wouldn't make the mistake of loving someone again. Then her grades started to slip too much to fix, then mom died, and now she isn't able to fix anything. I've come to terms with mom's death, but she hasn't, that's why I was sent here too though to fix my grades. Dad doesn't want me to turn out like her, but she really is a good sister if you get to know her" Ellie replied.

She blinked and then gave a nervous laugh yet again, realizing she said a whole lot pretty fast. "Sorry! Uh, just don't tell her I said anything, please" she added in a whisper as Rikku came bounding up again and hugged Ellie's arm. "A nice man up front let me have some of his wine" she said giggling as she strode Ellie off to a booth where they could all sit. "Oh! We're switching places though!" Rikku said as she sat down beside Kai and slightly nudged Dinin over to Ellie. Rikku wrapped her arms around his neck "You never answered my question" she replied promptly.

Dinin purred softly as Ellie touched his ears, causing him to shudder slightly and cause goosebumps to pop up on his skin. He wished dearly that he could be alone with Ellie, and yet he didn't at the same time. He had no idea what this feeling was that he was experiencing and was about to reach out to hold her hand when Rikku came back. The thanked dearly that Rikku had come back before he had done that and followed them to the the table. "Wait, what?" Dinin asked wide-eyed at Rikku's remark before being nudged over to the seat next to Ellie. He sat down nervously and stared down at his hand. He was blushing yet again, the blush deeper this time than the last two times and since they were in the dining hall it could be clearly seen due to the light.

"I see, that makes sense. I truly feel sorry for her." Kai immediately snapped his mouth shut as Rikku came back and sat down, not suprised in the least when Rikku sat down next to him. "What question...?" Kai asked, having sincerely forgotten the question Rikku had asked him out in the courtyard.

Dinin's eyes grew wide at Ellie's question and the only thing he could do was laugh nervously. He swallowed the lump in his throat and nodded with a smile. When she grabbed his hand however, Dinin felt as though his heart was going to rip out of his chest. He forceably supressed the feeling and followed Ellie to go get a soda. As soon as they were a ways away from the other two, Dinin felt noticeably calmer and smiled as he watched Ellie drink her soda, then ordered himself one and sipped at it. "So, why were you out there on the ground in the courtyard earlier?"

"That's really not an appropriate question you know, but if you must know, then yes, I have liked a girl, though she was mature and wasn't always drunk..." When Rikku nuzzled into his neck, Kai's eyes went wider than one would think was possible and he felt himself start to blush. What she hell's the matter with me?! I can't possibly like this woman!!

[Hehe, kinda figured. My ears are my sensative spot, 'tis why my female friends call me a cat. ._. Px]

Dinin purred almost immmediately after Ellie began rubbing his ears and even shivered slightly. He nodded somewhat of an understandment. "Yeah, he's not heartless in the least, just... Well, my clothing ties in with the story of why he's the way he is. You see, back when we were kids, we were really close to our parents. Kai was very lively back then and our parents were always so amazed with us because even if it was just us we were able to entertain ourselves and each other for hours, days, even weeks. Before I get back to the main part of this storry, allow me to tell you why I dress the way I do. My dad always used to dress up in a dress shirt, tie, etc., etc. One day I asked him about it and he said, "You know Din, my father always used to tell me: 'Kale, you never know just when you're going to meet that one special woman. The woman that can make you blush with the simplist of things, who can make it feel as though your heart is about to rip out of your chest, who can confuse your mind so badle you don't know your own damned name. So always dress nice so you can look good to that lucky lady.' Well that may be a good reason, but it also makes me feel like I can do anything, like I'm a million bucks, like I'm someone.

"I never really paid any heed to those words and never thought anything of them until one day when me and Kai were coming back from the forest. Kai walked in first and witnessed the most gruesome sight we had ever seen. My parents were completely spread throughout the house, their blood became paint on the wall and their organs decorated the walls and ceiling. After that he lost his memory and when he came to he's been like that ever since. When I saw the scene, I took my fathers words to heart and did what I had to for us to survive and stayed upbeat mainly for Kai.

"Anyways, enough of this depressing talk. Why were you glad that I found you first?"


Kai frowned as Rikku pulled him into her lap. It felt as though she was treating him like a little kid. "Her name was Ashley. She was the love of my life. Though we were very young, we knew that it wasn't an ordinary love. But... She's gone now..." Kai muttered with his head hanging slightly limp and his eyes showing a far-off look.

[Px If only...]

Dinin smiled at the compliments and nodded. "Thank you Ellie. You know, I'm kind of glad I found you first too." He wanted so desperately to kiss her at that moment, but just before his did, she pulled away. "Yes, I don't think Kai would stop her if Rikku went to do something with him." He downed the rest of his soda and followed Ellie back to the table noticeable happier than when he left. That was the first time he had ever told anyone about his past.

Kai sat back in his original seat after Dinin and Ellie came back and stared down at his lap, a deep blush displayed across his face. If I was a little older? The thought made him sad for some reason. Why if I was older, why not now?

"Why not? You seem like a very sweet girl to me." Anna smiled at the panda, remembering her old stuffed cat she used to tow around everywhere. She shifted a bit in her seat and leaned back a bit, feeling that Eureka was now confortable around her.

Seems like I made a new friend already. Her smile widened slightly at teh thought of a new friend. Anna was going to like being on Earth again after all.

((I know all about that^^ Though I stay up anyway, then I end up getting grounded. stare ))

Eureka squiggled and moved around in her seat before sitting the panda in her lap. She took her index finger and drew invisible circles on the table, a sad sort of smile on her face. "Eureka..., doesn't know why..Maybe because Eureka is..not real person.." Her eyes watered up at this as a few tears fell. The girl desperately wiped them away with the back of her hand, and continued to draw circles with her finger.
