Heading to the lower decks in order to speak with Tracey Tans, the man was pleased to see just the man he was looking for. Waving his hand in order to get his attention, Aiden McCallahan spoke boldly. His words would likely come as a shock to most of his crew. "Tracey," He began quietly, as though his certainly was beginning to leave him, "I can no longer care for my ship... at least not now.. I plan to leave for Ireland in the morning and need someone to care for the Aurarius.. I want to trust this man.." and as he spoke, he smiled faintly, as though hinting to whom he was speaking of, "..In the case I return, I do not plan to take my position back, but should expect a higher ranked position and respect."

Tracey had been a little surprised to see the Captain. It had been a while and he hoped it was a sign things were about to change, that they would finally be moving. He gave the Captain his instant attention when he spoke. His expression did fall when he heard the Captain was leaving. Blinking a few times, he tried to get over the surprise. Aiden wasn't a bad Captain, he would be sorry to see him leave.

"I am sorry to hear that you will leave us, Captain. Who do you have in mind? I am sure whoever would give you such a position when you returned to us. Certainly if I am position to do anything about it, I will make sure of it." He couldn't imagine that it might be him, he had just been promoted to able seaman, a jump to captain was unimaginable to him.

Mariko took them down roughly eight wrong paths before the smell of rotting organic material assailed them.

"Ah! The kitchens!" Mariko declared, skipping the galley and trying to drag Alette right into the kitchens themselves.

"Hey cook!" Mariko hollered. "Cook, is there anyone there?" She turned around and winked to Alette. "Ah gonna be the Chef here sm'day!" she bragged in a quiet voice, her eyes shimmering. "Then we have parrot EVERYDAY!"

Alette smirked,"And I'll help ya' catch the parrots!!!" She said with a nod,"Hmmm, Is there anyone here?" She mumbled as her blue eyes scanned the room.
"Damn, I'm starving!! Maybe we should just cook somthin'?" Alette suggested with a grin,"Some potato soup or some steamed crab would be good!"

Mariko cheered her assent. "Cook ain't here, looks like we're on our own!" she exclaimed, digging into the storage and ruffling through the barrels and crates of supplies. When there were no parrots to be found, she sighed.

"I'll get the fire going then!"

"Wait!!!" Alette called out,"We should go parrot hunting!! There has to be a parrot nearby!! I just know it!!! My insticts tell me so!!" Alette said with an assuring nod as she tugeed at Mariko's sleeve,"If we find one we have have deep fried parrot!!"

Marius had spent most of his time the past few days down in the small weaponry room since there was nothing for him to repair on the ship. Most of the swords in there had been slightly rusted, and he knew that in a battle a sharp sword would be more useful than a dull rusted one. He had managed to sharpen the majority of the swords in the room, and had decided that he needed a breath of fresh air before he finished up the rest.

Mariko instantly squealed loudly as Alette tugged her sleeve. "Oh my! Really? A parrot nearby! Why, you gotta be right- ye a parrotgal if Ah ever seen on!" she declared, her eyes nearly popping out of her head with excitement. "Let's come! We needa get the damn bugger before it flies away!"

After a long week of study, Avelop came down from the riggings, the weather was changing more suitable for sailing, birds were flying more often, the sun was out. He knew he needed to come down, he decided he would check his maps, and maybe ask the captain where they'd be going, he might even get to right down a new port, but he thought he knew all of them in a 20 league radius, even if he hadn't been to them. He flew down the riggings and walked to his room. he remembered something, he had no shot for his gun, 'Ask captain where we are going and if I make take some gun powder.' he decided this was key to do, so he rushed to find the captain.

Alette nodded and smiled,"OHMIGAWD!~!! I can hear it!! I can hear it squawking nearby!!!" Alette expressed as she jumped up and down,"And it's coming from thata way!!" She said while pointing towards the eastern end of the ship.

It was stranger then any tale he had ever heard, and he was living it. Tracey had been promoted not too long ago to able seaman, good enough for the time being. Yet, now he found himself captain. Truth be told, he was a bit scared of it all. At best, the crew would accept him and just be happy something happened, at worse they would be skeptical and he would find it very hard to lead if no one would follow. Either way he knew he would have to prove himself to everyone.

He knew one way that would help, have allies he could count on. So he spent quite some time to think about who to promote to officer. The time wasn’t needed for his first choice. Tia was dear to him and he’d hate for this to affect their relationship, but above how he felt, he knew she was a level headed woman that would be able to help keep him on tack. The second choice was harder, Victoria was a no brainer, she had proven she was good enough, what concerned him was if she would at least pretend to follow his authority in public. Nothing would be more detrimental then him being unable to even get respect from his officers. His misspeaking had caused a problem between him and her, but he knew he needed her strength as well as Tia’s to hold the ship.

Finally secure in his choices, the first choices he had made since becoming captain, he moved to the next order of business. He would have to look the part as well as act it. With the new wealth this position gave him, he went out and got properly dressed. The deep green frock coat with gold deigns and tan shirt with frills was his first buys. From there he had gotten a hat, but did not take off the bandana and the pants. Boots, real leather boots topped off. The belt, ‘fit for a captain’, had a nice belt buckle and did its job well.

As a crew mate, he would never have dreamed of being able to take the stray he had raised with him. Erin was found when she was only two months old, and since then he had been with her almost always. At two years old and almost one-hundred pounds, she was a big girl and looked the part of a meanie, even growled as normal communication. However, her secret was she really was a well behaved lamb. Now that he was captain, he was going to take her with him and was quick to bring her aboard.

Looking the part, with a suitable companion, he was ready to announce to everyone the changes. Standing near the helm, Erin by his side, he spoke, loud and with confidence, “Crew, the old Captain has left us for the time being. I, Tracey, am now your captain. I have hand picked two new officers, Tia has been promoted to First Mate and Victoria has been promoted to Quartermaster. Be prepared mates, in a matter of days, we will be setting sail and you’ll get to taste coin and open seas again. Lets keep this ship in sailing condition.” Resisting the urge to swallow the dryness in his throat away, he stood his ground, waiting for anyone to say anything, and to see their reactions. He was going to be an approachable captain, and showing it started now. He looked serious, but there was still a smile and he was there to be talked to if anyone wished to do so.

Avelop smiled at the news of a new captain, he could never find the old one. He wondered who the officers were, in the riggings he never met anyone apart from his immediate co-workers. 'We'll soon find out how reasonable they are, I wonder if they'll allow rum whilst on the job'

He cleaned his gun back in his room, and checked his maps to see the surrounding area, it was mostly fine for sailing, nice winds this time of year, no main land faults, they looked good to go, because of this he got excited, if he could notice this, surely the captain would, well, the new captain would anyway.

Tracey didn't see anything yet to say that anyone was upset over the change. Rather then go to his new quarters, that he changed around a bit before coming out to make his statments, he stayed out in the open incase people wanted to talk with him

"Ah-hah! That damn bugger-" Mariko skidded to a halt at Tracey's annoucement. She peered at the Captain from behind. "...Alette, we have a new that-one-person..." she whispered in a very loud whisper. "Tracey... That one woman? Stay per-fect-ly still and she won't notice me groping him..." Mariko's hand began to inch towards the supposed "her" pantline.

Tracey heard the 'whisper' or rather he heard someone behind him. Erin had already turned and looked at the woman with steady eyes unsure if she was firend or foe so she gave a growl of warning.

He turned his head to look at the woman, an eyebrow raised as he could clearly see her hands. Thats all he needed, someone treating him different because he is captain and get Tia angry with him. "Hello." was all he said as he watched her and waited to see what she would do before he would do anything himself. Acting frist was normally a very bad idea.
